SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must always be kept inside a 0.4x0.4x0.4 metre airtight lead lined steel cube at all times when not being tested. Due to its inherent instability and potential health effects on personnel, SCP-XXXX’s container is to be stored inside a 3x3x3 metre radiation shielded room at site ██, and must be suspended in the centre of the room by industrial strength Titanium-Inconel alloy chains secured to the corners of the room by small amounts of SCP-███. Access is through a reinforced airlock door on the south side of the containment cell, and full biohazard suits are required when entering SCP-XXXX’s containment. Monthly checks are needed to check for cracks or other damage to the cube or walls of containment. If any are found, a level 2 lockdown of the area is required until repairs are completed to structure or cube containment being replaced.

SCP-XXXX is free for experimentation, but testers must be accompanied by at least two (2) Level 3 personnel when conducting tests. Any individuals found to be attempting to damage or destroy SCP-XXXX will be subject to immediate reprimand and termination.

Following incident XXXX-1/A, experimentation on SCP-XXXX is strictly forbidden unless approved by the head of research (for more information please contact Dr ███████ for approval). When being moved outside of its containment, personnel are to be accompanied by a minimum of two (2) Level 3 staff, is required to wear a decontaminated biohazard suit with internal oxygen supply, SCP-XXXX must be covered with a lead lined rubber blanket, and unless required in experimentation, must not be observed when in direct skin contact.

Researcher Note: *When you are interacting with SCP-XXXX, unless it is part of your test, for [EXPLETIVE]’s sake do not touch it unless you are wearing gloves. It’s common sense people. You don’t want to end up how D-295310 did after he didn’t wear gloves do you?*
Dr ███████, Head of Research

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 30x30x30 centimetre cube of semi-transparent material similar in appearance to worn glass. There are no joins or seams anywhere on the object, and unless activated, the interior cannot be viewed in any way. Attempts have been made to penetrate the interior of SCP-XXXX but from tests conducted on it and following incident XXXX-1/A, it has been established that the object is made of a material that cannot be damaged or altered by any means currently possible by modern technology. Infrared and X-ray spectroscopy results have revealed that SCP-XXXX should not exist as it contradicts all our understanding of conventional physics. The reason for this is currently unknown.

When SCP-XXXX comes into direct contact with the skin of an individual, the normally semi opaque surface turns fully transparent, and the interior of SCP-XXXX can be seen. What is inside the the interior of SCP-XXXX varies from person to person, but all have said to have felt a sense of desire and lust when observing the object when it is in its active state, and will attempt to break SCP-XXXX open. When SCP-XXXX has been active for 15 minutes or longer, the user will become emotionally attached to the object, and will often refuse to relinquish it back to researchers and personnel. SCP-XXXX will also begin to emit.

Researcher Note: When exposed to radiation emitted by SCP-XXXX, please have a geiger counter on your person at all times. Really. It has become very tiresome and distressing to cleanup staff to have to remove a [REDACTED] body from a testing chamber whenever a subject exceeds the mandatory radiation ceiling allowed for testing, and as of this month (██/██/20██), 05-█ has informed us that we will all be terminated if these accidents persist.
Dr ███████, Head of Research

SCP-XXXX was first discovered in a routine sweep of antique shops in Soho, London, and was discovered in the attic of ███████ ████████ covered in a dust sheet. The agent that attempted to move SCP-XXXX was not wearing gloves and was subsequently exposed to it’s effects. After 25 minutes Agent ██████ reported feelings of nausea, desire and a strong urge to break SCP-XXXX open. After approximately 45 minutes of exposure, the agent collapsed and dropped SCP-XXXX, returning it to it’s dormant state. Agent later died of massive damage to his vital organs. Reason not yet known. Corpse was decontaminated and then promptly incinerated.
