Item #: SCP-4184
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4184 is to be kept in a standard 3m X 3m X 3m humanoid containment cell. It is to be fed with one (1) live pig every three (3) days through a pulley system in the ceiling of its chamber. 2 guards are to be placed at the entrance of the cell, rotating watch every five (5) hours. Room is to be lit with a single light bulb dangling from a string Research can be preformed upon SCP-4814 with written permission from personnel with class 3 clearance or higher.
SCP-4184 is to be held in place at the point of its recapture in an L-shaped hallway of the western wing on sub-level F of Site-██ in Antarctica.1 3 inch thick deployable walls are to keep the hallway locked down with one wall on either side. Any side entrances to the hallway are to be given military grade magnetic locks with a remote connection to the site's security room. Research is underway to create a wall that can be pushed from behind and turn corners while retaining an airtight seal on the hallway.
Due to SCP-4184's ability to move through any gap if not airtight, the primary concern of this containment is to not present another gap while attempting to move it to the proper containment cell. Feeding SCP-4184 is to continue by using an improvised airtight pulley system similar to the one used in it's previous containment cell.
A total of 15 security guards are to be posted in the surrounding rooms and hallways with a chance of access to SCP-4184's hallway. They are to be equipped with the same eye wear (Codename: SCRAMBLE) utilized by Mobile Task Force Unit MTF-Tau in the breach of SCP-096.
They didn't work against oh-ninety-six, but they are the exact components we need for 4184. -Researcher Pinot
Description: SCP-4184 is a 3m tall abundance of a dark gas, resembling charcoal smoke. It has 2 pseudopods of the same gas-like matter. At the end of each pseudopod is a 20cm long rusty steel hook with a diameter of 4cm, closely resembling a fish hook in design. SCP-4184 also has a series of vertical nails facing up and down at the top of the mass, hereby referred to as the "mouth" because that is where SCP-4184 ingests it's food. The nails and hooks are the only solid part of SCP-4184, and a sample was successfully taken by researchers with only 2 minor injuries. The sample showed the hooks consisted of iron oxide, iron, and a core of titanium. The hooks also proved they could regenerate lost material, as the point of a hook was fully removed for this sample. SCP-4184 also has 3 eyes in a horizontal line around its forehead. These eyes are perceived to have the same effects as a normal light source. These eyes can perceive infrared and the full visible light spectrum.
SCP-4184 has an effect on the world where every room it is in automatically fails to bounce photons. Light can still travel directly, and light installments can be seen within the room, but no amount of wattage can effectively light the room. This effect does not, however affect video cameras.
SCP-4184 uses stalker-trapper hunting tactics. It hides in the corner of any room it resides in, keeping its hooks in a hard to see location, until its prey wanders within 3m of it. It then strikes its prey by using one hook to sweep the legs out from under it. It stabs its hook into the belly of the prey, and locks it into the ribcage.2 It then drags the prey to its preferred corner of the room, fully engulfs a limb between its teeth, then bites down and digests the limb within it. Subjects usually die of shock or blood loss, but if a subject manages to escape, it contracts a very intense form of tetanus, and dies within days from infection.
Test 4184-A 1/10/16
Subject: SCP-4184
Procedure: To collect uncontaminated sample of hooks from SCP-4184, the subject was not fed for 1 week and had its chamber briefly flooded and cleaned. An airlock was build outside the cell, and a small security detail accompanied researchers into the chamber. A flash bang was deployed into the cell as the airlock opened, and SCP-4184 was successfully disoriented. The researchers moved in and immediately pinned down one of the hooks. The lead researcher, Dr.████ then used a laser cutter to remove a small amount of SCP-4184's hook. Halfway through the cut, SCP-4184 threw Dr. ████ across the room, giving him a slight concussion. Junior researcher ███████ pulled a handgun from a security guard, and with a lucky shot, hit the hook directly. The hook tip fell off, and another researcher picked it up. The detail evacuated the room and the security grabbed Dr.████ and dragged him to the airlock. SCP-4184 attempted to enter the airlock, and Junior researcher ███████ accidentally shot her colleague when the gun's hair trigger was pulled. The airlock closed, and the test was terminated.
Results: SCP-4184 regrew its hook in a span of 2 days, as reported by guards. The sample revealed the contents of the hook core.
Analysis: We shouldn't have people inside its cell anymore. While it is susceptible to flash bangs, it recovers quickly. The sample proves nothing much more than the hooks are indeed made of metal. The injuries retained were careless, but ███████ did save a life. We aren't yet sure if we should commend her, punish her, or place her in a special forces team for courage under fire. - Site director Bartlett
