Item #: SCP-S10-01

Object class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-S10-01 is to be kept in a marine pen below the SCPS Alpha (AKA "The supercarrier").1 A 60 square meter hangar is to be positioned above the pen, with security rooms 30m up on the forward and aft walls of the hangar. SCP-S10-01 is to be constantly monitored by a system of security cameras and no less than 35 heavily armed security personnel ordered to wound SCP-S10-01 if it attempts to escape. Meanwhile, MTF-Cthulu operatives are to attempt to find a Japanese person related to the sea in some way named Kunawakai. Designated POI-89430 Priority Black.

SCP-S10-01 is to be physically restrained with 6cm thick iron manacles on each of its 10 tentacles placed inside the aforementioned hangar. Manacles are to be magnetically locked and accessible only through 6 redundant keys, placed with one in each corner of the hangar, and one in each security room. Keys are not to be turned by any personnel with less than level 3 clearance, and any attempts are to be met with immediate termination of all participants. In event of a possible DK class end of the world scenario, SCP-S10-01 is to be released and allowed to proceed with its mission.

SCP-S10-01 is to be heavily sedated to prevent a containment breach. Sedation of SCP-S10-01 is to be carried out through 4 automated IV drips consisting of 4cm diameter tubes and modified hollow harpoons. Four liters (4L) of morphine are to be administered to SCP-S10-01 daily, with one liter through each IV. The SCPS Faraday must create this morphine on-site, and have 40L of reserves at any given time.

It is unknown how to feed SCP-S10-01, and it does not seem to require sustenance to survive. More attempts are to be made by dropping food and material into the pen by crane, in case it actually does need food to live.

On 8/21/85 a D-class personnel was required to explore SCP-S10-01's mouth cavity. Addendum attached.

As of 2/22/86, it is known that SCP-S10-01 attacks ships and eats the surviving crew by [SENSITIVE DATA EXPUNGED]

Description: SCP-S10-01 is a 30m X 50m X 25m marine entity, resembling a colossal squid (Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni) in shape. It has gelatinous tentacles and an armored central body.
The armor of SCP-S10-01 is assumed to be made of bone, due to the grey coloration and lack of barnacle growth. Underwater drones were sent near the beak, and they revealed that in place of the beak are two flat, sliding teeth, which open and close in the manner of retractable claws.

The tentacles of SCP-S10-01 are coated in a naturally viscous gel, and are capable of lifting and carefully manipulating objects down to the size of a coffee mug. These tentacles are extremely dangerous, and do not respond to the sedation of SCP-S10-01 as much as the primary body.

SCP-S10-01 has consistently been highly aggressive to any and every human vessel within 100km of it. It has also been shown to be able to track vessels previously near it across 5,000km of sea, and becomes even more aggressive when it successfully finds them. Tentacle measurements prove long enough to fully wrap around any marine vessel, military or otherwise. The only exception is the SCPS Alpha.

Primary concern of SCP-S10-01 is it appears to have a mission. Pre-containment analysis showed SCP-S10-01 only attacked vessels related to japan. Exploration logs revealed a similarity to this trend.

SCP-S10-01 has no known hunting tactics

As of February 22nd, 1986, it is known that SCP-S10-01's hunts by [SENSITIVE DATA EXPUNGED].

As this can be applied to foundation technology, and then possibly recovered by a military group, I have expunged all sensitive data related to how SCP-S10-01 hunts, including the February field test. - Lead researcher Faraday.

Recovery: After the mass breach of site ten, previous recovery efforts have failed due to a mixture of SCP-S10-01's hunting tactics and a developed immunity to the tranquilizers used on it. Lead researcher Hammond assigned to analyze recovered data and discern a new method of recovery for SCP-S10-01 after the death of Researcher Michael Faraday and most of the personnel assigned to the project.

Greetings, O5 council. My notes so far show that the best way to catch this SCP is going to be brute strength. I have requested funding for a large humanoid drone to achieve this but this project will take a long time to complete. Meanwhile, I need to figure out what Faraday expunged before he died and how to recover it. -Hammond
