Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe (promotion to Euclid pending Site Director approval)

WARNING: After repeated containment breaches derived from the recreational use of the item1 has led to the decision to postpone all access and testing indefinitely. Anyone found using the device without authorisation and outside testing environments will be heavily penalized. SCP-XXXX-1 has to be protected at any cost from any collision that might trigger a containment breach.

"We hold XK-scenario items here, for [REDACTED] sake!" -Dr. A█████ M██████.

Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-XXXX-1 is to be stored in a shockproof steel cargo container with dimensions 5mx5mx10m near a cargo elevator with easy access to the surface. Container must be locked by a keypad and Level 2 authorization Level 3 authorization or written approval by Site Director is required for accessing the item. Due SCP-XXXX's properties, only D-class personnel are to be used in tests. Any attempts of unauthorized access attempts are to be reported for disciplinary action and drug recovery programs enactment.

One D-class personnel is required to test drive the vehicle on a biweekly basis for at least 10 minutes each session with a speed between of 50km/h and 110km/h. If permanent damage to the subject occurs during testing, it is to be scheduled for termination and replaced for another D-class.

In case SCP-XXXX's properties cease to manifest or SCP-XXXX-1 suffers any mayor damage, containment breach must be declared and covert agents embedded in manufacturing factories nearby must start screening all vehicles produced in the last 7 days for SCP-XXXX-2. If not found, search radius must be incremented until found. Under no circumstances is physical inspection or tampering of SCP-XXXX-2 to be allowed, recurring only to X-rays and radio-emission sensors for detection. If SCP-XXXX-1 has been already bought, agents are to locate and contact the purchaser claiming a factory defect in the vehicle and offer a free upgrade or economic compensation for the return of the vehicle. If refused, SCP-XXXX-1 is to be retrieved by force and A-class amnesiacs given to its owner.

Description: Item appears to be a completely normal car (designed now on as SCP-XXXX-1), whose brand and model varies with each instance. Currently, SCP-XXXX is hosted in a new Seat [REDACTED]. Item was recovered the ██/██/20██ in [REDACTED], Spain by Agent ███████. He was tracking a sudden stream of traffic accidents in the locality of [REDACTED] with no apparent connection. Casualties are ██ and ██ deaths accounted so far. Upon detailed analysis, it was discovered that in every collision one of the vehicles declared having a "Improved Perception Field©, by Akr. INC" in their technical inspection card. Upon research, neither the product trademark or Akr. INC where registered brands or appear in any civil or Foundation database.

Inside SCP-XXXX-1’s hull is a small device (designated as SCP-XXXX-2) made from commonplace electronic of easy acquisition, including a programmable microcontroller and an EPROM. Location is random on each iteration, but always is a difficult access point in the vehicle’s structure. Attached to the side is a small metallic cylinder of unknown alloy believed to be used as an antenna. Every attempt to further analyze, recover the software, or in anyway tamper with the device has led to a containment breach [See: Addenum-XXXX-2]. By currently unknown means, the device detects any sudden movements or removal attempts, after which the device triggers and explosion sourcing from the cylinder and irreparable damage to most of the components. The integrated board has only two imprints, a QR code containing a encrypted sequence of characters [See: Document-XXXX-1: Partial decrytion] and a serial number. Current serial number is [DATA EXPUNGED] and is believed to be indicative of the number of iterations so far.

Upon SCP-XXXX-2 self-destruction, a new instance will be placed by unknown means2 in any currently manufactured vehicle in the vicinity. While exact selection method is unclear, to date no new iteration has been detected further than ██ kilometers.

While the engine is switched off, SPC-XXXX is considered inactive. Properties manifest upon starting up the vehicle and speeding up the vehicle. While SCP-XXXX-1 behaves as a expected (and in fact is) from a brand new vehicle, driver’s cognitive functions degrade temporarily while using the vehicle, effect believed to come from SCP-XXXX-2. The degradation develops in an exponential proportion to the wheels angular speed, breaking all neurological processes when reaching the vehicle’s design top speed. In its current instance, SCP-XXXX is safe to use up to a speed of 60 km/h for any subject without any preexisting cognitive dysfunction.

Driver's IQ start normal at 0 km/h, but gets inversionally proportional to the speed, up to the current SCP-XXXX-1 design top speed (currently 270kmh) where normal neurological activity ceases to operate, and after a short interval, driver dies from cellular asphyxia. Driver reports feeling an increasing euphoria and self confidence proportional to the speed and cognitive degradation, described to be similar to the effects of the street drug MDMA.

Testing revealed that this only affects the driver. If the driver is accompanied, a secondary effect manifests, where all passengers report numbness, heavy dissociation with reality and extreme compliance, describing "feeling glorious and unified". If left undisturbed, cognitive degeneration plus the drug effects in the driver will compel it to speed up and eventually make the vehicle crash, causing the death of all occupants and any collaterals implicated in the collision.

Addendum-XXXX-1: While there are no permanent effects observed as a direct effect from SCP-XXXX-2 from prolonged use of the item at low speeds, exceeding the 60 km/h speed mark might lead to a large array of derived afflictions as the nervous system starts to malfunction, from minor muscle twitching to [DATA EXPUNGED]. This is to be considered normal behaviour and any derivatives are not to be considered an SCP-XXXX-2 effect.

Addendum-XXXX-4: After previous iteration SCP-XXXX-2 has self destructed, its corresponding SCP-XXXX-1 ceases to be considered an item of relevance and can be disposed by any means deemed appropriate.
