Item #: SCP-XXXX
Picture of SCP-XXXX taken by sailors outside the coast of ██████.
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures:
As to prevent any information of SCP-XXXXs location, all information relevant to SCP-XXXX which include any type of location is to be removed by order of O5 Council Member ██.
As the discovery of SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1 needed a large naval task force, the O5 Council agreed to the creation of NTF Iota 36.
If a way to neutralize both SCPs is found, NTF Iota-36 may disband if a large naval force is not required elsewhere.
Foundation Naval Task Force Iota-36 ("Rough Waves") is tasked with patrolling and blockading any naval ships to get in range of roughly 5 km around SCP-XXXX. NTF Iota-36 has been assigned with refurbished naval ships purchased by the US Navy to contain SCP-XXXX. NTF Iota-36 currently has access to 4 Ticonderoga class missile guided destroyers, 5 Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, several auxiliary support ships and an Gerald R. Ford class aircraft carrier, which acts as the mission command ship1. These ships are solely for the guarding of the 5km circular area around SCP-XXXX. Regular patrols around the area are required. Because of continuous patrolling and coverage of the area, support ships are required to keep fuel levels high as well as food, water and everything required by a large NTF crew. Fighter Jets from Iota 36's aircraft carrier are also to aid in patrolling the 5km area. Per Protocol "Speak No Evil" two Ohio-class nuclear submarines equipped with several Trident II ballistic missiles are required. There is to be a Ohio class submarine on duty always, while the other one resupplies and changes personnel.
If any naval ship without clearance does not adhere to the Iota-36s warnings and still pass the 5km line around SCP-XXXX, NTF Iota-36 are authorized to terminate the naval vessel and any survivors in order to limit contact with SCP-XXXX-1.
If the whereabouts of the SCP are deemed exposed by Iota-36 Commander in agreement with the O5 council, protocol "Speak No Evil" is authorized and NTF Iota-36 is to initiate it immediately.
Protocol Speak No Evil
- Nuclear Submarine is to launch Trident II ballistic missile at area of impact or several areas if necessary.
- Area around impact is to be on lock down.
- All survivors of Trident II missiles are to be terminated.
- Area of impact is to be framed to be involved in an incident.
- Area is to be lifted of lockdown if all known carriers of SCP whereabouts are terminated.
If Protocol Speak No Evil fails, all surrounding populated areas are to be evacuated and MTF Gamma-5 ("Red Herrings") are to be called in to minimize spread of SCP location.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a grey naval Aircraft carrier of unknown origin and design. SCP-XXXX has been a ship of folklore with earliest references to it found in 1947. In 19██, MTF Gamma-6 ("Deep Feeders") discovered the location of SCP-XXXX. Since Gamma-6's discovery no movements or activity has been reported of SCP-XXXX at all, other than the distress signal explained further down. Extensive testing of damaging the ship with any form of long range weaponry have failed, SCP-XXXX still remains undamaged. Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX-1, no expeditions to SCP-XXXX have succeeded.
SCP-XXXX also broadcasts a distress signal continuously. Current testing have included signal jammers and EMP bombs but the broadcast remains unhindered. Since the foundation started listening to the distress signals, there are three the SCP object currently broadcasts. After roughly 5 transmissions in one language, the transmission changes the language to another and around every 2 weeks, it switches message. The three distress calls read as the following,
- Mayday message on frequency 156.8MHz
- Morse code … —- … (SOS)
- Voice saying "Mayday, mayday, this is vessel INAUDIBLE requesting help from any vessel in the area" on a low frequency
The distress signals are hypothesized to be a bait for victims to get lured into SCP-XXXX-1.
SCP-XXXX-1
SCP-XXXX-1 is a circular area around SCP-XXXX, which spans 1.1km. SCP-XXXX-1 emits a phrase or sound in an unfamiliar language, which appears to be the driving to be turning humans currently in the circle suicidal. All live subject tests have concluded with the subject drowning themselves in the area. It should be noted that with every subject drowning, the next subject got insane earlier before reaching the ship which implies that SCP-XXXX-1 grows the more victims it claims. Because of this nature to expand, no further tests are to conclude with subjects drowning in SCP-XXXX-1 area of effect. Further testing is permitted, but all subjects must be terminated outside the area of effect. It should be noted to any researcher that subjects who have been under the influence of SCP-XXXX-1 and then returned outside have shown extreme levels of aggression and higher levels of strength. Testing of subjects have also shown that the effects of SCP-XXXX-1 do not go away over time. A request to use SCP-500 to treat SCP-XXXX-1 is currently pending but at time of writing, SCP-XXXX-1's effects are believed to be incurable.
Testing Log:
Test T-7-XXXX-1
Foreword:
Subject D-1630 is placed into a remotely controlled soundproofed submersible ship in order to test effects of SCP-XXXX-1 and retrieve audio sample of SCP-XXXX-1's audio.
Begin Log
Supervisor ███: You will be approaching the test area soon. Please turn on your audio recorder.
Subject turns on their audio recorder.
Supervisor ███ engages lock on submersible hatch only accessible from mission control.
Submersible enters SCP-XXXX-1s area of effect.
Subject begins to cry and stops responding to all communications made by Supervisor ███.
Subject tries to open the hatch.
Subject starts screaming.
Submersible is called back to aircraft carrier.
Subject is subdued by NTF crew upon arrival.
Subject is placed into quarantine for 31 days then terminated.
Note: Audio levels did not appear to be quieter compared to other tests in the submersible even if it was soundproof. Subject did not get any better during the 31 days in quarantine.
Test T-8-XXXX-1
Foreword: Class D subject in this test was deaf and placed in a remote controlled submersible. The point of this test was to test if the subject would not be affected by being deaf.
Begin Log:
Submersible approaches SCP-XXXX-1.
Subject shows no signs of distress.
Submersible enters SCP-XXXX-1's area of effect.
Subject shows signs of distress and insanity.
Subjects pries off a metal handle and tries to kill himself.
Subject is unconscious.
Subject is terminated upon arrival back.
Test T-9-XXXX-1
Foreword: Subject is in a soundproofed room on the aircraft carrier. Subject has nothing inside the room except the audio recorder used in T-7-XXXX-1. Because of the danger of the previous subjects, the door is reinforced and two guards are outside. The audio recorder is set to self destruct after audio is played.
Begin Log:
Supervisor ███: Please press the audio playback button.
Subject presses the button, audio begins.
Subject shows distress, but not the same levels as the other subjects in other tests.
Subject stops answering to Supervisor ███.
Audio recorder is destroyed by self destruct function.
Subject is going more and more distressed.
After roughly 30 minutes, subject goes insane.
Subject breaks the reinforced metal door.
Subject is terminated by guards.
