Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1 instances are to be contained in a ventilated containment cell. Vents in the cell are rerouted to a condensation facility that will condense SCP-XXXX into 100L containers stored in a -200°C storeroom. SCP-XXXX-2 instances are to be constrained in a standard humanoid containment cell. As they do not need and are incapable of processing nutrients, little maintenance required.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a crimson fluid of unknown chemical composition secreted by a cat o' nine tails deemed SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 will constantly secrete SCP-XXXX at a rate of 5mL per minute. SCP-XXXX is highly volatile and will boil at -183°C, the boiling point of oxygen. However, SCP-XXXX will only evaporate upon coming in contact with any surface other than a whip or human skin and will stay in its liquid form when on an SCP-XXXX-1 instance. If SCP-XXXX comes in contact with any non-anomalous cat o' nine tails while it is in liquid form, it will transform the whip into an instance of SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX will not transform any other type of whip. There are no known means of decomposing SCP-XXXX particles.
SCP-XXXX's primary anomalous effect occurs when any human subject inhales SCP-XXXX in its aerosolized state, They will report feeling a burning sensation throughout their entire body after 10 seconds of exposure. After 10 min, subjects will report hearing whispers convincing them the only way to end the burning is to "accept the whip's repentance". If the whip is in the presence of the subject, they will attempt to self-flagellate with SCP-XXXX-1. If the whip cannot be attained by the subject, they will plead for the whip repeatedly. The burning sensation will continue to be felt by the subject indefinitely regardless if the subject is still being exposed to the SCP-XXXX aerosol.
SCP-XXXX's secondary anomalous effect occurs when it is in its liquid state and comes into contact with an open wound. It will be absorbed into the subject's bloodstream which usually occurs after a subject self-flagellates with SCP-XXXX-1. Absorption of SCP-XXXX will cause the subject to feel what is described as "the worst possible agony". This will cause the subject to cease any movement for approximately 10 seconds before collapsing. Upon collapsing, the subject will undergo several physiological changes, converting them into an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 within 10 minutes. Changes include:
- The multiplication of nerve endings in all part of the body to increase sensitivity
- The atrophy of the digestive tract and lungs to deprive the body of sustenance
- The inactivation of the immune system, making SCP-XXXX-2 susceptible to any disease
- increased generation of blood to prevent death from exsanguination
- The ability to rapidly regenerate that will only occur to prevent expiration involuntarily
- Loss of the need for any type of sustenance
- Loss of skin pigmentation and body hair
Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will attempt to injure themselves in any way possible and will refuse to consume any form of sustenance. When restrained, SCP-XXXX-2 instances will beg to be released. Interviews with an SCP-XXXX-2 instance reveal that they believe an entity will come to evaluate who has "paid repentance". Those who have not will be chained to the earth and experience the "worst possible agony" for eternity. (See Interview Log XXXX-1)
Recovery: SCP-XXXX came into possession of the Foundation following a raid of the base of the GoI "The First Penitents". Reports of a " bleeding white demon" in ███████, CA led Foundation Personal to their location, a basement under █████ Bar. The initial recovery attempt resulted in 5 Foundation Personel succumbing to SCP-XXXX's primary effect, leading them to convert themselves into instances of SCP-XXXX-2. A second attempt in with personnel equipped with gas masks, successfully recovered, two instances of SCP-XXXX-1, 14 instances of SCP-XXXX-2, labled SCP-XXXX-2a through 2n, including the 5 Foundation personnel, and several documents detailing the cult's beliefs. The location was quarantined until all of the aerosolized SCP-XXXX was contained.

Dr. ████████: What happened to your body?
SCP-XXXX-2c: It is His gift to us, the blood-soaked whip of █████.
Dr. ████████: Did the whip do this to you?
SCP-XXXX-2c: It transforms us, allows us to truly achieve repentance. The very air burns our skin, our organs turn against us, our bodies surpass human endurance. We are the ultimate vessels of repentance.
Dr. ████████: Why do you seek to constantly injure yourself?
SCP-XXXX-2c: We must all pay repentance. Judgment day draws ever closer.
Dr. ████████: What happens on this Judgment Day? What are you repenting for?
SCP-XXXX-2c become frantic and tries again to remove himself from his constraints.
SCP-XXXX-2c: He will come! He will judge the living and the dead! He will purge the Earth of Humanity's sins! He will chain us all to the ever-burning Earth! Only those who have paid repentance shall be saved!
Dr. ████████: Calm down Mr. Miller, who will come?
SCP-XXXX-2c: The Creator, The God of a Thousand Names, The Great Judge! He will come in a fiery hell storm and purge all sinners!
SCP-XXXX-2c becomes uncooperative and after 30 minutes the interview is ended.

Closing Statement: Several attempts were made to interview more SCP-XXXX-2 instances. However, SCP-XXXX-2c was the only cooperative subject.
