SCP-XXXX “Hope”

SCP-XXXX Hope

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be housed at site (REDACTED) in a standard non hazardous materials chamber. Any personnel are free to go into SCP-XXXX’s chamber and interact with SCP-XXXX if they need a pick me up. A guard is to be posted outside SCP-XXXX’s chamber, to prevent individuals from running off with SCP-XXXX (see incident 01)

Description: SCP-XXXX is a small cloud of what appears to be a material like white mist, roughly 0.6 meters tall by 0.3 meters wide, by 0.3 meters deep. However the mist like nature of SCP-XXXX mean that these dimensions are not entirely accurate. SCP-XXXX will levitate by its own accord, not moving in any direction unless acted upon by an external force. Unlike mist, SCP-XXXX does not feel wet to the touch, and tests are ongoing as to finding out the exact composition of SCP-XXXX. Small orbs of white light will sometimes appear within SCP-XXXX, but they do eventually dissipate, however most of the time there are a few of these orbs scattered around inside SCP-XXXX, as new ones form and old ones dissipate. These orbs are not hot to the touch and act like any other part of SCP-XXXX. When an individual touches or puts part of their body inside SCP-XXXX, they quickly gain a heightened sense of confidence and strength, with test subjects reportedly feeling better than they did before interacting with SCP-XXXX. This new sense of confidence will eventually fade away, but normally at the same rate most other temporary feelings fade in an individual’s mind.

SCP-XXXX can be grabbed and moved with effort. Anyone attempting to move SCP-XXXX should grip and area close to the center of the object tightly, before walking slowly in the direction they desire to move. The material that makes up SCP-XXXX appears to want to stick together, and all parts of SCP-XXXX will be pulled along in the direction whoever is moving SCP-XXXX is going. It is impossible to break SCP-XXXX apart, with tests showing that if a large object is attempting to bisect SCP-XXXX, then SCP-XXXX will move its whole form to one side of the object to prevent bisection. This process of avoiding splitting can happen slow or fast depending on how fast the object attempting to split SCP-XXXX is going. While SCP-XXXX will move around large objects attempting to split in in half, smaller objects do not create a response like this, enabling SCP-XXXX to be moved.

SCP-XXXX was acquired by the foundation after a hiker made a blog post online, claiming that he had come across a strange cloud of mist when hiking around the (REDACTED) region of (REDACTED). A foundation asset in the area investigated this report, and discovered SCP-XXXX. While waiting for more foundation personnel to arrive, the asset preformed a preliminary examination, and discovered the emotional boosting qualities of SCP-XXXX and the fact that it could be moved. It was opted not to track down the hiker and administer amnesiacs, as well as not deleting his blog post. The reason for this is because the hiker claims in his blog post that what he saw was probably a hallucination or trick of the eye due to him not getting much sleep the night before. For this reason it was decided that recourses should not be wasted trying to cover up a sighting of SCP-XXXX when the witness himself has a plausible explanation and is not aware of the fact that he witnessed an anomalous entity.

Incident 01

On (REDACTED) at 4:01 PM, researcher (REDACTED) attempted to leave the facility with SCP-XXXX, but what’s stopped by a security team who restrained researcher (REDACTED) and put SCP-XXXX back into containment. Researcher (REDACTED) was reprimanded and a guard has been posted at the entrance of SCP-XXXX’s cell to prevent a repeat of incident 01.
