Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-A and -B are to be kept in a set of two containment chamber 15m x 15m x 7m each, both connected to one room 8m x 8m x 6m use for feeding. The two chambers are designed for the instance it holds. The walls should be made of 1m of reinforced steel with an additional 1m of reinforced concrete to prevent any bending of the walls. SCP-XXXX-A room should mimic a forest environment while SCP-XXXX-B, a mountain environment. Female personnel are not allowed near the object should avoid SCP-XXXX-A while male personnel should avoid SCP-XXXX-B (see Addendum XXXX-02), as both instances show higher aggression toward the respective gender.
Every two-week, one live pig will be lower into the feeding room after which, both instances will be released in the room to feed. Personnel should only enter the containment cell after feeding if only one instance does not return to his cell naturally after one hour. A pig farm is to be kept near the containment unit and check daily. If an instance of SCP-XXXX is missing from the back of his host, the farm should be checked every 10 minutes until the new host is found. The new host will be placed in the proper cell and the remain of the previous host should be kept for studies or incinerated.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a pair of pelts from two unknown Sus Scrofa (Wild Boar) subspecies. The fur of SCP-XXXX-A is of a dark brown pigmentation while SCP-XXXX-B turns more to a grayish brown. Both pelts possess a pair of defense of unnatural shape and size for normal boar and their length suggests that the animal was larger than any known boar species. These pelts are in perfect condition and any attempt to damage or take a sample has met with failure.
SCP-XXXX is able to attach itself to a boar or pig, either alive or decease, overwriting the “host” instinct with its own. Decease host will become fully active 3 minutes after the pelt is placed on the back of the remain. It should be noted that if parts are missing (legs, organs, head, etc.) SCP-XXXX will take an additional 3 minutes to create the missing parts. How this process is done is currently under study. When attaching to a live host, SCP-XXXX will begin a slow decomposition of the body as well as an increase in aggression from the host. Even when its body is rotting away, no sign of pain or distress has been observed from the host. This led researchers to believe that the object is injecting some form of pain killer inside of the host system. Live hosts were observed to complete transformation 4 days after original placement of SCP-XXXX on their back. To this day, both instances of SCP-XXXX always have exactly one host each.
Experiments on the object lead to the discovery that the host will become inactive if the pelt is removed and the system of the host will instantaneously be flush and reactivate once the object is placed back. When place on anything but the host, the object was observed slowly sliding toward its current host using the fastest route with fewer obstacles. If the object encounters a closed door on its path, it will proceed to retract on itself before ramming the door in order to break it. Should the object be unable to return to its host for 24 hours, the instance will transport to the nearest compatible host when unobserved1 and the current host will be considered neutralized.
Addendum XXXX-01: SCP-XXXX-A came to the Foundation attention on ██/██/20██ when archaeologists were attacked by a “Decompose-Boar” in the ancient ruin of the city of Calydon located in the regional unit of Aetolia-Acarnania, Greece. Fearing a SCP-008 outbreak, agents were dispatched to neutralize the target. Target was successfully terminated by agents with a bullet to the head, but while Agent ██████ was preparing to check for SCP-008 infection, the pelt disappears from the back of the target. The remain showed no sign of SCP-008 and the team was put on stand by. Interview with the archaeologist’s team indicated that a few weeks prior to the attack, locals warn them of the reincarnation of the “Calydonian Boar” around the ruins and a few members admitted feeling like they were being observed. When a new target was sighted █ days later, the target was sedated and was transported to its current location. During operation, the object showed extreme aggressivity toward female personnel.
Addendum XXXX-02: After multiple reports of missing hikers on Mount Erymanthos, survivors on the mountain claim the presence of a “Zombie-Boar” living in the area. Agents were sent to administer Class A amnestic to the survivors before leaving for Mount Erymanthos. Recovery team confirms the presence of a second instance of SCP-XXXX and begins recovery following procedures. Subject, however, showed extreme aggressivity toward man, leading to multiples injuries for the team. Subject was finally contained and designated SCP-XXXX-B.

Retrieval Incident XXXX-01
<Begin Log>
Dr. █████: Could you describe your mission?
Cap. ███: Well, we were sent to look for what was the cause of the disappearance of those people and I was told by command that it could be linked to SCP-008 or SCP-XXXX. So, we went to the site and once we located the target, I let command know about a new SCP-XXXX instance and we engaged the subject for containment.
Dr. █████: And what happened next?
Cap. ███: What happened next is that this thing launches itself toward █████ with the determination to rip him in piece! We were told that this thing is mainly aggressive toward woman, so we were not prepared for this.
Dr. █████: Please I would ask that you calm yourself.
Cap. ███: Sorry. I just feel like I needed to let it out. [pause] Anyway, at first, we thought that with that aggression, if our female agents came, it would be worst than the report for the first one. We try to push it away from █████ so we could rescue him, get him far away from that beast. Whenever we got close, it would turn to us and hit us back before returning to █████. We shot at it, but the thing was too agitated for us to aim properly so we either missed or hit the hide. Eventually, we managed to get him back, but he was in a mess.
Dr. █████: That’s when you order your team to run higher on the mountain to reach the snow.
Cap. ███: Yes well you heard how locals called the first one the Calydonian Boar, right.
Dr. █████: Yes, why would you ask?
Cap. ███: Well that’s the name of a boar in greek mythology and the location matched the legend. So when I heard the location of our mission, it made me think back on one of my favorite myths.
Dr. █████: Could you explain more in detail?
Cap. ███: It’s the 12 labors of Heracles, one of them was to capture the Erymanthian Boar on Mount Erymanthos, the same place we were going to. Apparently, he lured it into the snow to slow its movement, making it easier to catch.
Dr. █████: And did it follow you?
Cap. ███: That beast stop chasing us! It was like it wanted to get us no matter what, but it didn’t want to get in the snow and stay back, just watching us. I think that thing might have some form of sentience to the myth and knew what would happen if it got in the snow with us.
Dr. █████: Noted. Continue.
Cap. ███: That’s when our two members who stayed back approached to get its attention. I told them to get away quickly, but I noticed that the subject was now on the defense, looking at them, then us, … mainly us, maybe to see what we would do. So we used that chance to shoot it, but these two were attacked before the sedation started to work. They were alive, but by the time, █████ died from his wound and the temperature.
Dr. █████: Thank you captain, we are done here.
<End Log>
Incident XXXX-02: In order to test captain ███ theory, SCP-XXXX-A was placed in a 1km room holding a large forest. Following the legend of the Calydonian Boar, it was killed during a large hunt with one of the main heroes being a huntress who draws first blood. D-XXXX-01 was chosen for the test because of her archery and hunting skills. A team of multiple guards was formed with D-XXXX-01 and were instructed to sedate the subject. 3 minutes after entering the testing area, the team located SCP-XXXX-A and D-XXXX-01 was told to take her aim while the other surround it. SCP-XXXX-A took notice of D-XXXX-A and was about to charge before noticing the other members; at this point, SCP-XXXX-A took a defending posture, putting its attention mainly toward D-XXXX-01. The moment D-XXXX-01 fired, SCP-XXXX-A dodged and rush to her, fracturing her rib cage, before attacking the remaining members who were surprised by the event and started to shoot at it without permission. During the attack on the team, it was noticed that SCP-XXXX-A sometime use action against situations similar to the first encounter, but not against situations resembling its recovery. At the end of the test, █ members had died, including D-XXXX-01, and the remaining were all injured.
Note: In light of this test, it seems that SCP-XXXX is indeed capable to learn from situations leading to its death. Any attempt to kill a host of SCP-XXXX should be avoided at all costs. -Dr. █████
