Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP XXXX is to be kept in a 5 m x 5 m x 5 m cavern 100m underneath Site ██. This cell is to be surrounded by three (3) seperate 10 centimeter thick layers of lead shielding. The chamber is not to be accessed by personnel below level 3 clearance without site administrator permission. Personnel assigned to SCP XXXX must undergo weekly psychological evaluations and are rotated frequently to prevent any lasting damage to foundation personnel. Additionally, as of ██/█/20██, all staff employed at Site ██ must attend a seminar on the symptoms and warning signs of SCP-XXXX's effects.

Description: Description: SCP XXXX is a male humanoid entity approximately 20 years of age and 1.90 meters tall with a pale complexion and unkempt brown hair. It’s eyes are a light blue, but appear to be devoid of any spark of humanity. SCP XXXX appears to have an incredibly severe case of Alexithymia, or inability to feel or percieve emotions. It has yet to express pain in a visible manner, but all attempts to induce pain into SCP-XXXX were deemed unethical.
The SCP does not show any outward expressions or describe feelings of any positive or negative emotion. It thinks in a way incomprehensible to most humans, and finds emotional beings equally incomprehensible.
SCP-XXXX constantly produces a mysterious aura with a radius of approximately 10 meters when uninhibited. The aura's effects weaken with distance, shielding, and resistance from the subject, although these measures only delay the progression of SCP-XXXX's influence.
If the subject remains within SCP-XXXX's area of effect for approximately █ minutes, they begin to experience feelings described as emptiness or boredom, along with irritability and appetite shifts. After an additional ██ minutes, the subject experiences mild memory retrieval faliure, fatigue, physical aches, and migranes. At this stage, the subject almost always attempts to approach SCP-XXXX for any number of reasons.
They will never reach their destination.
The closer the subject gets to the SCP, the more their pain, anger, sorrow, joy, and will is sapped from them. Eventually, they cannot convince themselves to move any closer. They cannot convince themselves to much of anything.
The effects become permenant the instant the subject no longer has the strength to approach it. Entities that reach this point have been described as "Shadows of their former selves" or "husks", due to their lethargic and empty nature.

The following interview was conducted █ hours after SCP-XXXX's containment

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX

Interviewer: Dr. Scobo

<Begin Log>

Dr. Scobo: Good morning. My name is Dr. Scobo. I'm here to ask you a few questions.

SCP-XXXX: (Rises from his seat and walks to the far corner of the room) For your own safety, I'd suggest you stay as far away from me as possible.

Dr. Scobo You can return to your seat, XXXX. I'm aware of the risks.

SCP-XXXX (Walks back) If you insist. You were warned.

Dr. Scobo How long have you had your anomalous traits, XXXX?

SCP-XXXX As long as I can remember. Maybe longer.

Dr. Scobo How old are you?

SCP-XXXX I think I'm about 20. Could be wrong. I'm not sure.

Dr. Scobo Okay. Tell me about your schooling.

SCP-XXXX (Thinks for about 30 seconds) I had decent grades. Nothing exemplary. Just enough to get by. Never made any friends. I could never figure it out.

Dr. Scobo Figure what out?

SCP-XXXX Why people make friends. It always seemed like a lot of work. Thinking of things to say and how to act was exhausting. They thought I was a robot.

Dr. Scobo mutters You are pretty weird

SCP-XXXX I get that a lot. Is it because I don't twist my face up into a wrinkly mess whenever anything happens?

Dr. Scobo That might be part of it. It's how humans communicate emotions.

SCP-XXXX I don't know what that means.

Dr. Scobo Feelings. Like happy or sad.

SCP-XXXX I've heard the words. I know where they go in a sentence and I know what contortions they correspond to. I just don't know what they mean.

Dr. Scobo chuckles That's a depressing thought. Why do you do things, if you don't have emotion as a motivator?

SCP-XXXX That's a hard one. Lemme think. (ponders for about 2 minutes, ignoring Dr. Scobo for that time) I do what's best for me.

Dr. Scobo That's a damn weak answer. Why do you draw out the existence you've been given when life gives you nothing?

SCP-XXXX Hmmm. (thinks for another minute) I suppose that I must have some sort of purpose. If I didn't, then I wouldn't be like this. Things happen for a reason, Doctor. When humanity is involved, the reason becomes much less clear.

Dr. Scobo (Visibly enraged) What's that supposed to mean?

SCP-XXXX I'll say it simply: You people don't make sense to me.

Dr. Scobo attempts to attack SCP-XXXX in a fit of rage, but stops approximately 60 cm from it. The doctor succumbs to the SCP's effects.
