Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX does not require to be contained by any special measures due to the nature of its location, however, there are to be at least two security cameras placed by the area that was first drilled into for use of monitoring the area. Further exploration of the Europan Ocean is also to be prevented by spreading misinformation, usage of amnestic, or if necessary, destruction of the spacecraft.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a humanoid entity that closely resembles a mermaid in appearance. Adult entities tend to be approximately 2 meters tall, while juveniles and possesses a blue and green skin color. The entities have also been observed to have durable scales made from keratin rather than skin, and even though in-site testing cannot be done, it is assumed that the scales present on the SCP are incredibly insulated due to the extreme temperatures present on Europa. While SCP-XXXX instances do have eyes, but the entities possess poor vision compared to other aquatic animals on Earth. However, they have been observed to possess the ability to anomalously interact with their surroundings and other entities interacting with their surroundings through touch.
The anomalous ability of these Entities was first discovered when a foundation agent controlling a probe exploring the ocean underneath Europa approached an instance of SCP-XXXX. The entity then approached the probe, touching it. Once the entity touched the probe, the foundation agent controlling vocalized experiencing a sensory overload. The camera then showed SCP-XXXX quickly swimming away from the probe. After the SCP had fled the probe, agent █████ had gone back to normal. An interview was conducted shortly after the incident.
Interviewed: Agent █████
Interviewer: Head Researcher Dr. Stuart Long
Foreword: Agent █████ was questioned about their experience with SCP-XXXX
<Begin Log>
Dr. Long: Hello Agent █████, how are you feeling today?
Agent █████: How do you think? I just had my mind invaded by some Thing on a different planet! I could feel it-
Dr. Long: Please, you don't have to shout.
Agent █████: Right, I'm sorry. Anyways, I could feel it overriding everything in my body, all of my senses got jacked up to ten! My hearing became amplified, my smell became amplified, everything! I could even feel what it felt, the curiosity it had as it entered my head, then the fear it experienced from feeling everything I felt.
Dr. Long: Is that it?
Agent █████: Somewhat, it didn't have any power over my actions, I was still in full control of my body. I just felt it everywhere inside of me, it's hard to describe.
Dr. Long: I understand, take your time.
Agent █████: Yeah, it's like having a parasite in you, but all they want is knowledge. As soon as it was in my body, it was curious as to what I was. That was, of course, until it realized how I wasn't what it was looking at.
Dr. Long: Interesting, is there anything else you can add to further describe your interaction?
Agent █████: Just one thing, it felt like my body was freezing while it was in my head. It wasn't just any type of cold though, it was one of those feelings where it's so cold that it feels like you're burning.
Dr. Long: Noted. Thank you, Agent █████, that will be all.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: Given what had happened to Agent █████, he conducted himself surprisingly well during the interview with Dr. Long. Agent █████ will continue to be monitored until further notice.
As of now, it is not known why SCP-XXXX will connect to another individual, or what it seeks to gain from doing so. The current theory is that SCP-XXXX seeks to gain knowledge from the entity that it connects with, but what it does with that information is still unknown.
Addendum: Instances have started attempting to interact with foundation surveillance equipment at a higher frequency. If the instances continue to attempt to interact with foundation equipment, further security measured will have have to be put in place.
