Item #: XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP - XXXX is at the current state unmovable and fenced off in a 1-kilometer area. A portable research station has been brought to its location to always observe it. No unauthorized personnel is allowed to cross/climb the fence, if it is done so, they will receive a warning, leading them away, if an unauthorized person gets in a 100-meter radius of SCP – XXXX he is immediately shot.
Description: SCP – XXXX Appears to be an old oak tree, approximately 200 to 400 years and stands about 25 meters tall, and 5 meters wide. SCP – XXXX was found in [REDACTED], Germany. SCP – XXXX does not grow any leaves, no matter the season. Any attempt to chop down or move SCP – XXXX have failed, its bark is too thick and yet it seems to be made from simple oak, however one single piece was retrieved (see down below). SCP – XXXXs anomalous effect seems to have the ability to harden itself and the ground around it, thereby shoveling the dirt in a 50-meter radius is not possible. SCP – XXXX does not grow with age but with how many organic things it consumes. SCP – XXXX has the ability to expand its branches to double the length they were before, thereby reaching the width of 10 meters. When a subject gets in a 10-meter radius of SCP – XXXX it expands in an astonishing speed, impaling its victims and hanging them atop its crown, till their body decays and falls to the ground, where the tree slowly absorbs them, making it slightly bigger, it is unknown why SCP – XXXX hangs its victims and lets them decay when it could just lay them on the ground and absorb them. The nearest village is about 3 kilometers away from SCP – XXXX.
Addendum 1: SCP – XXXX was discovered few weeks ago, as two children (age 10 and 14) from the local village wandered too far into the forest and were exposed to SCP – XXXX. The boy (age 14) was the one who SCP – XXXX targeted first, the girl (age 10) ran home and told everything her mother, who then contacted the local law enforcement, the boy was later on found atop the trees crown, however it did not attack any nearing officers.
Addendum 2: Three days after the incident the foundation was contacted and SCP – XXXX was contained. Several experiments were made, SCP – XXXX was hostile towards everybody who neared, however it failed to kill any of the guards nearing it, because its branches were not sharp enough. In a short period of time SCP – XXXX stopped attacking the guards and instead was hostile only towards people without armor. In an attempt to chop down SCP – XXXX one of the Class-Ds managed to chop down a piece of SCP – XXXXs bark. After being examined it still had the structure of regular oak, but still unbreakable, the wood piece is now referred to as SCP – XXXX – B. After a day SCP – XXXX – B appeared to have something scribbled on it, it was in German so a translator had to come to the site, SCP – XXXX – B read: “Für Dreihundert Jahre bin ich da in diesem Wald, und jetzt kommt ihr, und beginnt mich zu studieren, ihr beginnt“ SCP – XXXX – B abruptly stopped, since the it had no more space to write on, the segment says that SCP – XXXX was in the forest for 300 years, it also is unsatisfied with the foundation coming here. A day later another text appears on SCP – XXXX – B, continuing on where it left off: “experimente an mir zu machen. Dieser verfluchte Junge Krabat hat mich hier gefangen, ich werde ihn eines Tages wieder finden.” SCP – XXXX - B finishes its last sentence and says that a boy named “Krabat” trapped him here, and that it is also searching for him, but it would be impossible to find since now the boy has to be dead. Suggesting, SCP – XXXX – B may not be the tree itself, but something inside.
Addendum 3: After these two messages SCP – XXXX – B went silent, upon further investigation an old book by Otfried Preußler (Who died in 2013) named “Krabat” was found, released for the first time in 1971 however the story is set a few hundred years ago, if SCP – XXXX – B is truly referring to the boy Krabat, that means that it was not trapped inside this tree for that long, Dr. [REDACTED], the main scientist responsible for SCP – XXXX, has come to a conclusion that SCP – XXXX – B was referring to the trees age, not the age of SCP – XXXX which seems to be a sentient being inside the tree. Upon reading the book (which has a very complicated story) the boy Krabat defeats the evil miller, before the climactic fight the boy is told to dig a grave for himself, which he does not have to go in since the miller is the one who dies. It is never said if he is buried in the grave later on or not, however as he is digging the grave he thinks who will really be buried in it, suggesting, the miller was by the end. The grave is also apparently found under a large oak tree.
SCP - XXXX shortly after the foundation arrived, currently in a non-expanded state.
