Hello! Thanks for visiting. I'm 20 years old, Australian, and studying classical music. As I kid I was a big fantasy reader, loved astronomy, and did very well in my high school sciences and math. You can see why I'm drawn to the Foundation. However, coming back to reading, and being VERY new to the SCP Universe (only knowing around 30-40 SCPs) I would LOVe recommendations for anything multi-dimensional or in the cosmic horror genre.

The username is just because I like the idea of encroaching darkness (Dusk) as a signature for spookems.

Inspiration for ideas.

What initially drew me to the Foundation were the cosmic entities such as the Hanged or Scarlet King. Things that exist in extra dimensions. While omnipotence is scary and great, I personally prefer the tension of tangible threats.

I have a favorite Douglas Adams passage (HGTTG) which I'll paste here.

"…Suddenly Arthur had a fairly clear idea of what infinity looked like.
It wasn't infinity in fact. Infinity itself looks flat and uninteresting. [Infinity] distance itself is incomprehensible and therefore meaningless. The chamber […] was anything but infinite, just very very big, so that it gave the impression of infinity far better than infinity itself."

So yeah, this is highkey a power system to create meaningful threats. If it gets published I hope other writers use it. Also just wanted a way to relate real-world Earth with Foundation Earth(s) and generally create a "dark multiverse" system.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard Maximum Security safe at Site-██. In accordance with Site Procedure, the content of each safe is on a need to know basis.
Personnel accessing SCP-XXXX must have accompaniment and written approval from Site-Command, signed by at least 1 member of 05 Council staff. All personnel legitimately accessing SCP-XXXX will have been granted level 3/XXXX clearance.

Studies outside the foundation in the fields of Theoretical Physics or Balance (Neurology) should be monitored for the creation of instances of SCP-XXXX. Affected civilians and personnel below clearance-level 4/XXXX represent a serious security breach for the Foundation. Subjects should be contained and evaluated by the Foundation for recruitment; becoming either appropriately trained, positioned, or terminated. An misinformation campaign is ongoing.

Individuals granted Level 3/XXXX clearance must not under any circumstance have access or previously accessed any SCPs related to time manipulation. Cross testing of SCP-XXXX with said SCPs may lead to a ZK-Class End-of-Reality Scenario.

Description: SCP-XXXX is USB containing a holographic cognitohazard constructed by foundation researchers. The USB is encrypted. SCP-XXXX can be memorized and instructions for its creation can be transcribed. It requires significant skill to produce and is costly for the foundation to recreate. Amnesics are ineffective against SCP-XXXX.

[Clearance Level 4/XXXX-1 Required]

SPC-XXXX causes confusion between the eyes and semicircular ducts, irreversibly reinterpreting the subject's sense of position. The effect SCP-XXXX of takes 2 to 3 days adjustment period, after which most affected personnel are able to comprehend nearby parallel universes of similar average Hume concentration (aHm). Certain anomalies and information about others become comprehensible and explainable by science.
While this represents a necessary step for science outside the Foundation, SCP-XXXX is considered a threat due to lack of Foundation defense against it. The mathematics behind it have been discovered by notable individuals such Steven Hawking and █████████████, as well as SCP-███.

Defense against and integration of SCP-XXXX into Foundation Security is currently in development.

Addendum XXXX-A-1:

Incident Report XXXX-02/07/1998-1: On 02/07/1998 an 05 Council meeting was breached by an anomalous human with interdimensional travelling capabilities.They claimed they were 05-9 from a "harmonious reality" (nicknamed "the Denizen") and presented the council with a stack of handwritten notes containing i) the necessary knowledge to create SPC-XXXX ii) unsupported claims about the nature of parallel dimensions. Due to the entity's ability to breach 05 Staff Security, information about "The Denizen" and this event is highly classified.
Testing of SCP-XXXX the by foundation researchers has lead to Hypothesis backing up "The Denizen"'s claims. After a vote by the 05 Council, edited extracts from the notes have been made available to foundation researchers (See Addendum-XXXX-A-2).
The entity is working with this dimension's 05-Council to prevent another "tapesterial hole". regrettably was terminated in its initial encounter.

For the sake of simplicity I've coined a few new terms which I will add to this sheet as I progress.

aHm - Average Hume count. This is a measurement of a universe's stability. Realities around 100aHm should be stable.

Anomality - The amount of anomalies a universe contains in relation to Universe 0. Anomality may take a "North" or "South" characteristic (nA and sA).

U0 - Universe Zero

To think of the multiversal plane [without being affected by SCP-XXXX] imagine a field dotted with poles of roughly equal height. Each pole is ⪅100aHm tall. A cloth is draped across these poles, creating peaks and valleys like a giant mountain range. The slopes fall drastically; most cloth sits in dips between 0aHm and 10aHm.
Each peak is a stable parallel universe. Northern peaks are realities with more north-Anomality. Southern peaks likewise have more south-Anomality. Peaks east and west represent alternative timelines of similar Anomality.

South-west of our reality there is a peak significantly higher than the rest. I believe this is Universe 0, as all observable realities appear to be accelerating from it. Due to its high aHm it likely does not contain any anomality. Likely, the level is so high that beings from universes such as ours would not be able to manifest there.

My hypothesis is that U0 acts as the trunk of the multiverse. All stable realities exist merely as branches of it. Inkeeping with the tree metaphor, what we perceive is likely a horizontal slice of the top. Each branch simply appears as a circle of wood.
Realities moving east or west may be related timelines becoming more discrepant after splitting. After conversing with SCP-507 I believe that these timelines only split at key events.
Day to day decisions will create unstable (low aHm) realities which disperse and meld together into the slopes and valleys.
Similarly, expansion north or south is probably to the nature of anomalies. They have a tendency to generate more anomalies. Likely, the creation of major anomalies generates branches north or south. The nature of an anomaly might help determine what the direction is. Seemingly-divine anomalities correlate more toward southward movement.

It should be noted that as realities split, their "peaks" decrease in height. While they often replenish in thickness over time,

Biography

Nicole Green first made contact with the foundation during Incident XXXX 02/07/1998-1. As the first known discoverer of SCP-XXXX, Green was recruited by the foundation to take an advisory role in research on SCP-XXXX. Since then she has been fundamental in shaping foundation research on ZK-Class End-of-Reality scenarios, on trans-reality travel, and trans-reality-memory-retention.

Nicole Green Originates from Reality-6, and is the only known survivor of a ZK-Class End of Reality Scenario. She has advised certain containment procedures to ensure the scenario does not repeat itself. These containment procedures prevent full-testing of SCP-XXXX; as Green claims incorrect testing of SCP-XXXX caused the end of her reality. The depth of her knowledge of SCP-XXXX is currently unknown, and is currently indispensable to the foundation. Several members of the 05 council have made their discomfort of this fact known.

Character

Green appears to suffer from typical post-traumatic-stress-disorder symptoms; most notable of which is insomnia. She has also been noted to have little-to-no appetite - regularly being listed as "malnourished" during foundation check ups. While support has been offered, it has been refused - regularly followed by an increase in productivity.

Anomalous Traits

Green possesses the ability to perform unassisted trans-reality travel. This was instrumental in [REDACTED].
She has stated this as due to a combination of time manipulation and the effect of SCP-XXXX. She has never stated how said ability was obtained, but has suggested an SCP which existed in Reality 6 is partly responsible.
