Item # (XXXX) "Anxiety House"
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of XXXX, it cannot be contained inside of a standard containment chamber. Therefore, a large perimeter of concrete wall topped with barbed wire has been set up around XXXX's location, about 50x50 meters in area. The single path leading up to XXXX has a security checkpoint on it, built into the wall. Any civilian who follows this path to the checkpoint is to be told to turn back with the reason that XXXX's location is the site of various military operations. The checkpoint and XXXX itself are to be guarded by at least ten level three security personnel and three level four security personnel at all times. Any unauthorized subject that passes the wall is to be detained for questioning immediately. Any unauthorized subject that manages to get inside of XXXX must be administrated amnestics, the type depending on the amount of time spent in XXXX. Testing with XXXX must be approved by one of the level four security on site for XXXX containment and a level three personnel in nearby Site-13. Any subject inside XXXX that is affected by the anomaly is redesignated as XXXX-A.
Description: XXXX is a medium sized house on top of a hill in a forest near Site-13. The interior, when viewed by a camera or an individual not affected by the anomalous effects, has standard, modern decoration, such as potted plants, bookcases, and a flat screen TV. XXXX's anomalous effects activate when an individual who is capable of differentiating what is normal from what is odd enters XXXX. Once a subject that fits the criteria enters XXXX, anybody that tries to force entry into the house will make a remark on why they can't enter the house and will not continue to attempt to enter XXXX (see Addendum XXXX Test Log 2). The subject that is inside X (referred to as XXXX-A from now on) will start experiencing effects one could describe as odd, getting more creepy as time passes. The flat screen TV will always, without fail, turn on and play static. It receives no input from any of the buttons on the TV or the TV remote. As the time passes, weather can abruptly change to thunder or a blizzard, a premature night can occur, lights will tend to flicker on and off, XXXX-A's vision can get blurry, XXXX-A can have blackening vision, unsettling noises can play, such as screams, howling wind, screeching, and a noise subjects describe as drowning out all other sound, and finally, rooms can warp and change. These effects only affect XXXX-A, not affecting any camera / audio equipment inside the house or anybody outside the house. These effects cause worsening anxiety as time passes. Once the anomaly gets to the point of warping and changing rooms, each door inside the house can lead to an incorrect room, decorations will go missing, some doors will lead to a wooden wall, and entirely new rooms with decorations similar to the ones present in the house will appear. The only room that remains unchanged is the main room, and, as long as XXXX-A can find this main room, they will be able to leave at any time (see Addendum XXXX Test Log 2 and Test Log 5). Subjects quickly calm down once outside the structure, and can enter XXXX again with no problems except for a slight fear of the anomaly itself. All effects will disappear once XXXX-A opens the front door. XXXX-A is undesignated once they open the front door after being inside.
Addendum XXXX Discovery Log: XXXX was discovered by foundation agents after the local police department had received reports of a haunted house on top of a hill from multiple teenagers and adults that had entered XXXX. The police department forwarded these reports to an undercover agent posing as a paranormal detective, who forwarded them to Site-13 command. A team of three agents were dispatched to the approximated location of XXXX and they quickly found it after searching the forest for five minutes. After determining that there was nothing immediately anomalous about the exterior of XXXX, they went to the front door and knocked on it. After receiving no response, one agent apparently opened the door and entered the structure, although the other two only witnessed their fellow agent phasing though the solid metal door. They logged that it was locked, and that they still had radio communication with the agent that entered, now XXXX-A. XXXX-A logs that the inside of the house is unnerving, and that the hairs on the back of her neck are standing up. She logs the static TV and how unresponsive it is to input. She then logs that there is a thunderstorm outside, and asks the other agents about what they're seeing weather wise, to which they reply to as overcast. XXXX-A finally decided to leave the building once the lights started flickering. Her partners log that she ran out of the building, panting, like something in there was chasing her, though she assures them that there was nothing inside with her, and it was only the flickering lights that set her over the edge.
