Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4173 is to be maintained in a facade resembling an experimental molten salt reactor. An electrified barrier topped with razor wire is to be installed around the perimeter of the containment area. A guard post labeled with United States Department of Energy (USDOE) insignia is to be maintained by foundation operatives wearing the uniform of the DOE Federal Protective Forces. Personnel with a clearance of 3/4173 and above are permitted to access the interior of the site.

Inside the facility is multiple metallic alloy silos which must not be opened, filled, or drained. Surrounding these containers is to be a variety of fire extinguishers, electromagnetic antimatter containing fields, and various humanoid containment cells. Each cell should be equipped with facilities for remote care of humanoids.

In the event of an "Open-Valve" incident, the resulting matter is to be led away through alloy pipes to an offsite and autonomous foundation laboratory for examination. In the event of anomalous material, a MTF equipped with anti-cognitohazardous equipment will be dispatched for recovery.

Description: SCP-4173 is an anomalous chemical manufacturing plant discovered in rural *[REDACTED]* in 19██. The facility consists of 6 main silos surrounded by scaffolding in a manner consistent with modern chemical plants. At the base of SCP-4173 is a valve that tapers to a diameter of 1.5cm. Any vessel placed in the area marked "Waste Receptacle" will have an appropriate amount of liquid dispensed into the container. SCP-4173 seems to determine what liquid is appropriate and what consists of a container. So far testing has shown containers to be any object capable of holding a liquid. Additionally, the liquid dispensed is capable of having a variety of properties. Testing has exposed anomalous liquids, anti-matter liquids, *[DATA EXPUNGED BY ETHICS COMMITTEE]* , low/high hume level liquids, and standard non-anomalous liquids. Senior research staff has requested all staff level 3 and above to contribute additional vessels for testing.

Addendum: Due to the capabilities of SCP-4173, Senior Researchers have petitioned the Overseer council to allow inquiry into any plausible limits of the Anomaly. Command has issued a provisional green light for testing by personnel with Level 4/4173 approval.

Test Alpha - 10/6/19██

Subject: Standard steel soft drink can
Procedure: Subject was placed 1cm from dispensing nozzle.
Results: SCP-4173 Activated and filled can with 12 ounces of an unidentifiable soft drink.
Analysis: "While tasty, D Class personnel report a bitter aftertaste upon initial consumption" -Dr. Wu

Test Beta -10/7/19██

Subject: Steel vacuum flask belonging to Dr. Wu
Procedure: Subject was placed 1cm from dispensing nozzle with an open screw-cap.
Results: Several pipes around the interior of SCP-4173 began to fill with various liquids, dispensing into the flask after 180 seconds of flow. Liquid dispensed appeared viscous and possessed an amber tinge. Liquid dispensed over the span of an hour.
Analysis: All D Class personnel who consumed SCP-4173-Beta reported a disgusting taste and refused to imbibe the liquid after the first sip. However, Dr. Wu drank 200mL of the liquid with haste. Upon interview the researcher stated the liquid had cured her headache.

Test Gamma - 10/13/19██

Subject: Standard brass casing for a 5.7x28mm bullet retrieved from an FN-P90 stored in an on-site armory.
Procedure: Object was placed in a vice clamp positioned below dispensary nozzle of SCP-4173.
Results: SCP-4173 shuddered and activated after 45 minutes of inactivity, before dispensing a short burst of metallic liquid into the casing. Site-12 Armorers and Researchers successfully reloaded the casing with a new bullet. When fired, range chronographs clocked the bullet at ████ft/s, █ times faster than a round with standard smokeless gunpowder.
Analysis: "While the time cost is prohibitive for mass production, Anomalous rounds could be provided to MTFs on Keter recovery missions. I'll submit a request to the Overseers" -Dr. Wu

Test Delta - 11/29/19██

Subject: 55 Gallon plastic barrel containing precursor to acid used in the containment of SCP-682.**
Procedure: Nozzle adjusted to be 1in above mouth of barrel. Splash guard installed to protect personnel.
Results: Researchers noted considerable seismic activity originating from chemical silos onsite. Interestingly, 6L of fluid drained from the SCP-682 containment area. SCP-4173 began dispensing a magenta toned liquid followed by a viscous black semi-fluid and a grey metallic sludge. Manipulators similar to those in an automotive plant extruded from the floor and vigorously shook SCP-4173-Delta. Object radiated heat at 5700k for 16 hours.
Analysis: Fluid was introduced into containment cell of SCP-682. Upon initial observation tissue decay accelerated to a rate of ██cm³/s. Decay of SCP-682 progressed until %73 of tissue had necrotized. Subject expressed great contempt for researchers assigned to SCP-4173, despite not having knowledge of the fluids location.
Incident Report 4173/682: After ██ hours of improved containment with SCP-4173-Delta fluid, acid in the containment area rapidly disassociated into precursor compounds and insoluble chemicals. SCP-682 was quickly able to escape containment causing ██ staff casualties and ██ civilian casualties. MTF Beta-7 ("Maz Hatters") was dispatched to re-contain the anomaly. Standard gunfire was ineffective, however rounds of SCP-4173-Gamma proved effective in disabling SCP-682 long enough for re-containment. SCP-682 lost compound disassociation abilities after █ days.
