"Viva la Vida"

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is kept in a locked metal box, along with a 19██ make ████ ███████ cassette player, in a storage room in Site-██.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an ordinary compact cassette, but has bright red tape as opposed to the common black. The cassette has "Coldplay - Viva la Vida" handwritten in red on it.

SCP-XXXX was acquired by Agent ██████ from a library on ██/██/2016. Initially, Agent ██████ picked up the cassette hoping it was a recording of the song Viva la Vida, but after playing it with a cassette player, they thought it was a very distorted, Spanish cover of the song, and went back to the library. After stating that it was a Spanish cover of the song and that they wanted to return it, Agent ██████ got into a heated argument with the clerk, who said it was not Spanish, but Arabic.

Knowing both Arabic and Spanish, Agent ██████ believed there was an anomaly with the cassette, and so changed their mind and went back home with the cassette. Upon replaying it, Agent ██████ noticed that this time, it was in a language they did not recognize, and decided it would best be contained. Class B amnestics were administered to the library clerk.

Just as Agent ██████ had noticed, each time the cassette is replayed, it is the same song in a different language, heavily distorted (alas the lyrics stayed decipherable). In all of the languages, it is always Chris Martin singing the song. The tape ends and stops playing after 4 minutes and 12 seconds.

All attempts to duplicate the tape or convert it into a digital file have failed, although the audio can still be recorded with a microphone.

The audio does not appear to have any side effects on subjects exposed. Although not advised, it is completely safe to listen to it.

Addendum: The experiment SCP-XXXX-A was held, in which SCP-XXXX was replayed 50 times using the cassette player. Below is the list of all the languages that Chris Martin sang in, in order.
