Item #: SCP-4879
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:When not in use SCP-4879 is to be kept in a standard locked containment box at storage area ██-7.
Following the loss, and retrieval of SCP-4879, it's containment has been reevaluated. SCP-4879 is to kept in a steel lockbox in Dr. Beck's office. One of the sticky notes from SCP-4879, with Dr. Beck's full name written on it, is to be placed on the inside of the lockbox.
Following the death of Dr. Beck during incident ██-█, SCP-4879 is currently irretrievable from the inside of it's containing lockbox through any normal means until it's claiming note's adhesive wears off.
Description: SCP-4879 consists of three stacks of Post-It brand sticky notes of different colour varieties (45 Yellow, 60 Orange, and 49 Blue). The colour of the notes does not show any difference in affect. When a human subject writes their name onto a single sticky note and it is placed on an inanimate object, it is then 'claimed' by the subject. The object, once claimed, is locked in place and only able to be maneuvered by the subject that is claiming it. The sticky note, however, can be removed easily through normal means. When the sticky note that is claiming an object is removed, the object returns to all normal properties and can be claimed again. SCP-4879 does not have any claim effect on living organisms.
Test Logs:
Test 4879-1
| Protocol | Dr. Beck is to write his full name on a single sticky note from SCP-4879 and stick it to standard white ceramic coffee mug. Researcher ███ is instructed to attempt to pick up the mug. |
| Results | After about 3 minutes of pulling, Researcher ███ is unable to move the coffee mug despite using their full body weight to pull. |
| Notes | No damage to the mug was recorded despite the researcher putting far beyond the force required to shatter ceramic. |
Test 4879-2
| Protocol | Using the same mug from previous test (4879-1), the mug is to be put into a hydraulic press and progressively squeezed up to 40,000 PSI. |
| Results | No cracking or shattering is observed throughout the duration of the test. After mug is removed from the hydraulic press and sticky note is taken off, mug retains it's structural integrity. |
| Notes | Seeing as the claim effect renders claimed objects virtually indestructible, testing pending approval for use in containment procedures for SCP-████, structural support reinforcement, and security purposes. |
Test 4879-9
| Protocol | Dr. Beck is to write his full name on a single sticky note from SCP-4879 and stick it to D-49184. After adhesion, D-49184 is to be given a small cut with a medical scalpel. |
| Results | Immediately after applying the note to D-49184, the subject panicked and expired due to asphyxiation within 2 minutes. Post-examination shows several injuries associated with constriction, including rib fractures, burst capillaries in the chest, and full body muscle damage. |
| Notes | D-49184 was unable to move or breathe due to constriction from their jumpsuit. Their jumpsuit to seemed to have been the only thing that was under the claim effect. Further testing with organics underway. |
Test 4879-16
| Protocol | Dr. Beck is to write his full name on a single sticky note from SCP-4879 and stick it directly to D-47873's skin. After adhesion, D-47873 is to be given a small incision with a medical scalpel. |
| Results | D-47873 showed normal behavior and locomotion abilities. Incision from medical scalpel was successful and subject's incision was then stitched up and test ended. |
| Notes | It can be concluded that claim has no effect on living organisms. |

Test 4879-██
| Protocol | Per approval for testing, Dr. Beck is to write his full name on a single sticky note from SCP-4879 and stick it directly to SCP-████'s surface. |

| Notes | Testing of SCP-4879 is suspended indefinitely following the death of Dr. Beck. It took us 17 hours to get that thing back in it's cell, this cannot happen again. - 05-█ |
