Any individuals living within 2 blocks of an SCP-XXXX-1 instance are to be treated with Class-B amnestics and given a cover story that XXXX-1 instances have existed for years, that they were until recently inhabited by a family that the individual was only tangentially familiar with, and that has recently moved away.

Description: SCP-XXXX refers to a phenomenon occurring in ██████ Township, Massachusetts, in which fully furnished houses (referred to as SCP-XXXX-1 instances) manifest in empty plots at seemingly random locations throughout the township. SCP-XXXX-1 instances appear recently inhabited; food within refrigerators and cupboards, photographs and items suggesting habitation by a family, and disruption of bedding and appliances suggesting recent use are invariably found within the instances.

This phenomenon first came to the Foundation’s attention when a number of posts on neighborhood social media app ██████ were reported by researcher Grace McKendree, a Foundation employee currently living in the area. The posts all seemed to center around complaints of ‘unannounced development plans’, or general confusion regarding the abrupt appearance of an unfamiliar house in the area. Researcher McKendree, who was new to the area at the time, at first assumed the posts to be a running joke of some kind among town residents; however, when an SCP-XXXX-1 instance manifested on the same block as her own home, she immediately contacted nearby Site-██, and an investigation into the phenomenon was promptly launched.

Special Containment Procedures: Any buildings containing manifestations of SCP-XXXX are to be restricted to the public
As the method by which SCP-XXXX spreads is not yet fully understood, any personnel who have come in to contact with the interior of a building affected by SCP-XXXX or any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 must undergo a strict 3-month waiting period before entering any art museum or gallery. Additionally, should any such personnel come in to contact with an art museum or gallery (even after the mandatory waiting period), the building should be carefully monitored for any signs of SCP-XXXX manifestation for a minimum of 3 weeks.
