An Intense Awakening

How long had it been since his father's death? It didn't matter. That icy, lifeless, erect body standing at the window grew to witness his father's cessation. He missed it's appearance as grief had engulfed him that day. Looking back on that day however, he can't shake the feeling that something was off.

The long walk home from school seemed to drag on. The cracks between the panels in the sidewalk looking identical besides some weeds that occasionally popped out. The nice August breeze calmly making way through the leaves of the trees. No clouds stained the sky as the Sun took pity on me as my trek continued.

There was a small chirp heard from deep within the passing forest. I dismissed it and took a half-step when a bird quickly emerged from the trees, swiftly gliding past me.

Make haste

Wide eyed I froze.

"Who was that," I bleated.

There's no time! Get away from that forest!

I hesitantly headed the command and dashed away from the edge of the forest. The rustling of leaves echoed through the woodland. A giant beast surfaced the trees and followed the bird with savage intent.
