Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 4x4x4 vacuum chamber. The temperature inside the room has to be kept above 4000°C. SCP-XXXX has to be levitated in the center of the room using electromagnets. Plans of launching SCP-XXXX to space have been proposed.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a metallic ball, one meter in diameter. All attempts to damage the object have failed. The ball is extremely cold, approximately -205°C.
SCP-XXXX continuously secretes a clear liquid. This liquid is the same temperature as SCP-XXXX, and any surface touched by the liquid will freeze instantly. The surface is frozen permanently, and no amount of heat can melt it. If the liquid is exposed to temperatures above 3000°C, it will become normal water vapor. If the temperature is above 3000°C the ball will not secrete any liquid.
If SCP-XXXX comes in contact with any matter, it instantly freezes the surface. The frozen object will then slowly freeze everything touching it, including air. This chain reaction does not seem to have a limit and it could lead to an XK-class scenario. Matter frozen this way can however be unfrozen if it is exposed to temperatures above 14000°C.
SCP-XXXX was found after foundation members went to investigate an anomalous meteor. When they got to the landing site, the object had frozen the ground around it. The soil was dug up and taken back for testing.
