SCP-4894, shown being watered by Dr. F██.
Item #: SCP-4894
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4894 is to be potted in a stainless steel planter measuring 76cm in diameter, which is to be placed in Hallway 1C at Site-46. Due to security protocols at Site-46 restricting Hallway 1C to Level 1 and above Personnel, no further security is required at this time.
Due to repeated instances of SCP-4894-1 being found on employees attempting to leave Site-46 without authorization, SCP-4894 is to be monitored by motion-activated camera by Site-46 security staff alongside standard secure containment areas.
SCP-4894 is to be watered by janitorial or volunteer staff at Site-46 once per week with a standard mixture of water and 10-10-10 balance all-purpose plant food with any instances of SCP-4894-1 being removed from its planter and delivered to Site security, who are instructed to deliver them to Site Treasury Operations for inspection, decommissioning, or release. Any personnel found attempting to remove instances of SCP-4894-1 are to be reprimanded by Site security and reassigned, up to and including removal from Site-46.
Description: SCP-4894 is a 1.4m tall tree of the Ficus benjamina species, with a significant number of United States Twenty Dollar bills ranging in minting date from 1994 to ████, hereby designated as SCP-4894-1.
SCP-4894 was recovered on 06/██/20██ in ██████, ████ at 16:42, after agent L████████ was made aware of the object's presence in the [REDACTED] Department of [REDACTED]. Foundation personnel recovered the object and administered Class-C Amnestics to civilians exposed to SCP-4894. Due to the recent acquisition of SCP-4894 by [REDACTED], a brief investigation determined no instances of SCP-4894-1 had been removed from the acquisition site.
Once per three months, SCP-4894 will begin to quickly shed instances of SCP-4894-1 over the course of approximately two weeks, and proceed to produce a new series of SCP-4894-1 over the course of another two weeks, appearing to [REDACTED], growing at a rate of ███mm per hour. The production of SCP-4894-1 has been officially deemed as "printing", with each series being referred to as a "run".
Instances of SCP-4894-1 appear to be identical to legal tender associated with their year of mint, with each instance of SCP-4894-1 being printed with its own unique serial number. Each run of SCP-4894-1 appears to print with sequential serial numbers, although the first number in each run appears to be entirely randomized. See Addendum 4894-A for reports of each run.
Instances of SCP-4894-1, outside of their production, do not appear to be anomalous. Test results of Test Log 4894-1-█ demonstrated an identical atomic makeup to everyday U.S. Bank Notes in 99.8% of cases. Cases involving minting years of ████ and above accounted for the missing .2%, and are currently being re-analyzed for testing error.
Further genetic testing is noted below in Addendum 4894-B.
It is not currently known how instances of SCP-4894-1 are produced; however, SCP-4894 demonstrates an exceedingly anomalous cellular structure. SCP-4894 [DATA EXPUNGED], with more details being found in Test Log 4894-██. Further testing requests are currently under review by Dr. F██.
SCP-4894-1 Run: 1
Researcher: Dr. F██
Description of SCP-4894-1: Instances appear to be in pristine condition, and appear to have a minting year of 1995. Serial numbers of SCP-4894-1 appear to be between C ████████ A to C ████████ B. Serial numbers do not appear to match any U.S. Bank Notes currently in circulation.
Post-Inspection Procedure: All instances are to be destroyed via incineration.
SCP-4894-1 Run: 4
Researcher: Dr. F██
Description of SCP-4894-1: Instances appear to be in slightly worn condition consistent with everyday wear-and-tear of circulation, and appear to have a minting year of 2014. Serial numbers of SCP-4894-1 appear to be sequential, but do not match standard U.S. Minting guidelines, with numbers showing MX ████ Z to MX █████ Z.
Post-Inspection Procedure: All instances are to be destroyed via incineration.
Note: Why are we destroying these entirely? It isn't much, but we could at least pay for new coffee machines with these. I'm submitting a proposal to Site Command. —Dr. F██
Note: Proposal 4894-U has been approved. Instances of SCP-4894-1 showing a lack of significant use and matching currency reasonably in circulation are to be released to Foundation Accounting Operations. —Site Director M. K████
SCP-4894-1 Run: 14
Researcher: Dr. F██
Description of SCP-4894-1: Instances appear to be greatly worn, and appear to have a minting year of 1998. Approximately 40% of instances are torn in some way, with all instances showing significant wear consistent with circulation. Serial numbers appear to be between AL ████████ B and AL ████████ L.
Post-Inspection Procedure: Due to wear, all instances are to be destroyed via incineration.
SCP-4894-1 Run: 15
Researcher: Dr. F██
Description of SCP-4894-1: Instances appear pristine, and have a minting year of 2018. Serial numbers of SCP-4894-1 appear to be between BE ████████ C and BE ████████ D.
Post-Inspection Procedure: Instances are to be sent to Foundation Accounting Operations.
SCP-4894-1 Run: 2█
Researcher: Dr. Y███
Description of SCP-4894-1: Instances appear to be slightly worn, consistent with everyday wear-and tear. Instances appear to have a minting year of ████, with the portrait of former President Andrew Jackson replaced with [REDACTED]. Serial numbers do not appear to match standard minting procedures, showing [REDACTED] in place of standardized coding.
Post-Inspection Procedure: [REDACTED]
[DATA EXPUNGED]
Test A - 04/09/2019
Subject(s): Bark sample of SCP-4894, Instance of SCP-4894-1
Procedure: Genomic analysis is to be performed on both SCP-4894 as well as fibers making up SCP-4894-1 and compared.
Results: Analysis confirms that SCP-4894-1 fibers match all non-anomalous portions of SCP-4894 on a genetic level consistent with parent-offspring relationship.
Analysis: SCP-4894 does not appear to be taking the instances of SCP-4894 from anywhere, but is rather producing the bills by itself.
Test B - 04/16/2019
Subject: Instance of SCP-4894-1, Sample of everyday cotton fibers
Procedure: Fibers from SCP-4894-1 are to be compared to the fibers found in everyday cotton products.
Results: SCP-4894-1 demonstrates extraordinary similarity to everyday cotton, with notable exceptions of [REDACTED].
Analysis: Anomalous exceptions to SCP-4894-1 may be attributed to the anomalous nature of SCP-4894. Further testing may be required to confirm anomalous properties.
Test C - CANCELLED
Subject: Instance of SCP-4894-1, U.S. Twenty Dollar Bill recovered from SCP-4280
Procedure: Both subjects are to be subjected to intensive checks for any anomalous properties.
Results: N/A
Analysis: N/A
Note: Test C has been cancelled by Site Command. Who the hell even proposed this test? We wouldn't even be able to get the money over here in time. — Site Director M. K████
