Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Thaumiel-Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be placed on a gold pedestal and locked in a high-gravity prism chamber made of glass, dimensions 2m x 2m x 4m, with 24/7 monitoring of SCP-XXXX. 8 Focusing Crystals made of clear quartz must be positioned around and directed at SCP-XXXX at all times, with High-Density Electron Beam (HDEB) power setting on med-high to suppress disassembly field and avoid non-contact staff casualties. Weekly examinations monikered "Check-ups" should be performed by a disposable examiner randomly selected from D-Class personnel, in a secure, controlled environment, monitored by an experienced instructor and 5 researchers.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a small silver prolate spheroid, roughly 0.5 feet in diameter and 1 foot tall, and emits a sound frequency too high for the human ear to hear. It seems to emit this frequency as a seal, to stop anything from coming out of it. Not only does SCP-XXXX emit this frequency, it appears to have a silver aura around it at all times. Experiments have concluded it is not just a visual representation of if the “Seal” is active, but can alchemically disassemble anything that comes into non-direct contact within 1.3 meters. SCP-XXXX is monitored carefully and constantly, to make sure it is not a Keter or Apollyon class object.

Discovery: ██-██-████
Artifact was found on a pedestal made of pure gold in a perfectly spherical cavern of 1.3 m x 1.3 m under a stone ruin high in the mountains of Greenland by explorers who drew straws trying to get close to it. The first explorer to step into the cavern was instantly "disassembled" into carbon, ammonia, lime, phosphorus, salt, potassium nitrate, sulfur, fluorine, iron, silicon and water, amongst traces of 15 other elements. Local government authorities were called, who, upon arrival, subsequently contacted the Foundation, and the artifact was excavated using ground penetrating radar and magnetic field generators, whilst surrounding rocks and debris were destroyed using vibrations. The affected area is closed for examination.

Test 1A - ██-██-████

Subject: Determining the range of SCP-XXXX's "Disassembly Field"

Procedure: Experiment 1A log, audio omitted, transpiring on ██-██-████, █ month(s) after relocation to secure facility:

[00:00:01] Test Start

A humanoid identified as one ██████ ███████, D-Class, clad in orange and wearing dull grey handcuffs is lead to stand approximately 1.7 meters away from object, on a yellow X painted on the floor. Heart rate monitors read 90, and he is showing clear signs of stress and anxiety. Object is resting on original gold pedestal, unmoving. There is an ominous silver aura around object, and researchers look uncertain about what is to come of experiment 1A.

[00:10:34] Instructors tell subject to move 0.1 meters forward. He moves, and nothing happens. Researchers look relieved. Instructor tells subject to move 0.2 meters forward. Heart rate rises by 30. Subject moves forward slowly, and beads of sweat start to form on his forehead. Nothing happens, and everyone except subject relaxes further. Instructor tells subject to move 0.3 meters forward, and subject hesitates enough for armed guards 1-5 to aim at his head. Subject starts to cry while his heart rate spikes at 150 and shuffles slowly to the next point, but midway he is alchemically disassembled in a brilliant flash of red light into his elemental components. The researchers look stunned, and call to the instructor for something. 2 Minutes later, the instructor returns to the room holding a live rat by the tail. Researchers call something to the instructor, and the instructor throws the rodent in a beautifully curving arc. Again, the creature is disassembled.

[00:36:34] Test End

Results: SCP-XXXX's "Disassembly Field" is approximately 1.3m from center of object.

Analysis: Further analysis detected the glass pieces in the handcuffs' mechanism were untouched by the field, as was the gold in the subdermal heart rate monitor implant's circuit board.
