SCP-XXXX.jpg

SCP-XXXX after recovery (See Addendum notes).

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the serious events of Incident-XXXX-I, containment measures have been improved.

SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a specially designed wall mounted case made of steel, measuring 2 meters height, 1 meter length and 0.5 meters width provided with an electronic magnet locking system and kept in a reinforced room located on Sector-██████ on Site-19. The containment room is to be equipped with pressure and water level regulators, an external battery to prevent the locking system to open during power blackout, along with a draining system connected to an external secured tank.

SCP-XXXX is to be under surveillance at all times and checked periodically by authorized staff for any structural damage. Any personnel attempting to damage or use SCP-XXXX unauthorized will be dealt with severely, up to the point of termination if needed. If the site is experiencing multiple containment breaches or somehow SCP-XXXX-2's mass manages to escape the containment cell, the sector's draining systems should be activated and the airlocks closed to prevent the spread of SCP-XXXX-2 trough the facility.

Description: Note to all authorized personnel reading this article. Following Test Period A-F and Incident-XXXX-I, SCP-XXXX has been re-designated to SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2.

SCP-XXXX-1 is an old circular wooden frame that measures 185 centimeters height, 95 centimeters length and 9 centimeters width. The object's back side features a circular ring engraved with unknown symbols and shapes. SCP-XXXX-1 tends to decay and even break over time in an unpredictable manner.

SCP-XXXX-2 is a sentient parallel dimension composed of a huge mass of salt water that possesses hydrokinektic1 and cryokinetic2 abilities. Apparently, SCP-XXXX-2 is able to transfer its own mass to our dimension trough an "interdimensional portal". SCP-XXXX-1 is capable of containing SCP-XXXX-2 by creating an "event horizon" that prevents the water mass to pass trough the portal as long as it does not present any severe structural damage. All matter except for liquids can pass trough the portal without any kind of physical damage.

Should SCP-XXXX-1 present severe damage to its structure, SCP-XXXX-2 will be able to transfer its mass, expelling water continuously until SCP-XXXX-1 is repaired. Upon contact with another mass of water, SCP-XXXX-2 will be able to control it. Should a person separate a part of SCP-XXXX-2 mass trough any means such as closing the door to flooding source, SCP-XXXX-2 will be incapacitated by controlling the sectioned mass of water.

Addendum:

Recovery: SCP-XXXX was recovered from a country side house near [DATA EXPUNGED] by Agent ██████ after a reported disappear of a ██ year old child.

Report XXXX-R. Recovery of the object.

Date: ██/██/2018.

I arrived at the location where a disappearance of a child was reported. An old house, made of wood with several broken windows. The owners apparently are not the child's biological parents as they stated that and accepted to raise him as their own child. We asked them some questions about the child's safety and if it was possible for him to run away or hide somewhere. In all the cases they responded with "no" except for one question. We followed them upstairs to the attic, pretty dusty and filled with cobwebs. They said that they are in the possession of an old mirror that was kept in the family for centuries. The only clue were some footsteps leading to the mirror which was not covered with the fabric as it should. It seemed like the child played with the mirror. Upon close inspection I touched the mirror-like surface and surprisingly my hand passed trough it. It felt wet and cold like water. I called for a special transport team to take the item in foundation's custody. The owners agreed.

Test Logs:

Note: During Tests A-C the subjects fully complied without hesitation. From Tests D-F subjects exposed to SCP-XXXX-2's memetic hazard longer than 2 hours expressed distress and paranoia.

Test A - Date: ██/██/2018

Subject: SCP-XXXX

Procedure: D-Class subject is to insert trough the event horizon several objects made of different materials, shapes and sizes. The test chamber is to be observed via glass window to adjacent control room and via audio and video recording devices.

Results: Subject D-63952 (Male, 41) is placed in the chamber and told to insert a metal cube trough the event horizon. Subject does as instructed. Subject is told to partially insert another metal cube. Although SCP-XXXX's vertical position, the cube seems to maintain its position unaffected by gravity. Subject is told to hand the cube and insert it trough the mirror then take it back. The object along with D-63952's arm are intact. Subject is told to insert a cup and take some water. Subject inserts the cup then pulls it out. The cup is empty. D-Class is told to insert a transparent plastic bag filled with water. Subject inserts the bag then retrieves it. The bag is empty. Subject is told to continue in a similar fashion until all the objects had been tested. Test ends and D-Class is sent to debrief.

Analysis: Test showed us SCP-XXXX's ability to transport objects to an unknown dimension without any harm, designated SCP-XXXX-2. Retrieval of water samples seem to be impossible, hypothesized to be because of the event horizon that somehow manages to block any water to pass that point. Further tests and exploration of SCP-XXXX-2 are required.

Note: SCP-XXXX does not reflect individuals nor objects. We named the surface "event horizon". It deforms itself temporally allowing an object to pass then it goes back to its original flat, smoothed form. We still don't know if that's the intended surface of the mirror or if it's the portal itself. Following D-63952's interview, it states that SCP-XXXX's event horizon is cold, wet and green, possibly because of a mass of water behind the mirror-apparent surface.

Test B - Date: ██/██/2018

Subject: SCP-XXXX-2

Procedure: D-Class subject is to insert a wired drone (maximum speed of 2 meters/second) that extends to a maximum of 200 meters, connected to control room, equipped with a camera designed for underwater footage, a sonar, a beacon showing the location of the drone and a sample analyzer. The test chamber is to be observed via glass window to adjacent control room and via audio and video recording devices. Doctor ████████ is tasked with the piloting of the drone. Another beacon designated "Beacon A" is to be inserted near the other part of the event horizon for the retrieval of the drone.

Results: Subject D-29634 (Female, 29) is instructed to insert the drone trough SCP-XXXX's event horizon then to insert gently "Beacon A". Subject complies. Camera shows static for 2 seconds then comes back showing an underwater landscape. No terrain, plants or structures are to be seen, only water. The color of the water is similar to deep ocean. Motion sensors don't register in the vicinity any kind of water motion or currents. Camera turns 180 degrees to show what is presumed to be the other part of the event horizon. Sonar scans show no sea bottom. Camera's field of view is unusually far. Control takes a sample of water and analyzes it. Analyse shows that the liquid is indeed salt water as speculated and has no trace of any bacteria or living creatures. Doctor ████████ pilots the drone into an attempt to reach the surface. Judging by the intense light that comes from above, the drone shouldn't be far from it. Drone continues the ascending until the cable is fully stretched. No signs of surface nor land. Control returns the drone to the starting point then pilots it "forward". After 2 minutes of piloting the drone, the cable suddenly extends to the point where it breaks. D-Class is instructed to remove "Beacon A" inside of SCP-XXXX-2 and then leaves the test chamber for debrief.

Analysis: The technical team searched for any clues that could explain the tension of the cable. Camera and radar records don't show any aquatic creature that could possibly grab it. At the moment there are not any other clues. Further tests required.

Note: The temperature of the water along with the apparent light that comes from the "surface" does not change no matter of the depth. Due to the massive force applied to the drone's cable that connects it to control, test chamber security protocols are to be improved for precaution.-Security Chief [REDACTED].

Test C - Date: ██/██/2018

Subject: SCP-XXXX-2

Procedure: D-Class subject is to insert a wireless drone (maximum speed of 4 meters/second) that extends to a maximum of 5 kilometers, connected to control room, equipped with a camera designed for underwater footage and thermal images, an improved sonar, a far range signal receiving system, a beacon showing the location of the drone and a sample analyzer. The test chamber is to be observed via bulletproof glass window to adjacent control room and via audio and video recording devices. SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a steel wall mounted cabinet. Should the test be compromised in any way, the door is to be closed and sealed by Class-D. Doctor █ is tasked with the piloting of the drone. Another beacon designated "Beacon A" is to be inserted near the other part of the event horizon for the retrieval of the drone.

Results: Subject D-92638 (Male, 34) is instructed to insert the drone trough the event horizon along with "Beacon A". Subject introduces the drone. Doctor █ pilots the drone "forward". After 20 minutes and 57 seconds the drone nearly reaches the 5 kilometer signal covering limit and Doctor █ pilots the drone back to the starting point. The drone heads "below". After 14 minutes and 45 seconds the camera begins to show static then returns to normal. After another 5 seconds the camera is dragged violently by an unknown force down to the point where control can not pilot it anymore. Received data is recovered, D-Class instructed to remove "Beacon A" from SCP-XXXX-2 and to seal the door then leaves the test chamber for debrief.

Analysis Pressure sensors indicate that the water near the drone changed its pressure and temperature forming a current. Current data leads to the theory that SCP-XXXX-2 is capable of hydrokinesis, but it is not yet confirmed. Further tests required to determine SCP-XXXX-2 true nature.

Note: The Foundation Department will no longer support another tests with drones. We decided to send Class-D personnel for any side effects and for a better description of the anomaly. Test room security protocols are to be lowered. Deducing from those tests, SCP-XXXX-2 should not be able to manifest any physical force on our dimension. -Security Chief [REDACTED].

Test D - Date: ██/██/2019

Subject: SCP-XXXX-2

Procedure: Several chosen Class-D personnel are to attend a Special Scuba Diving Program that lasts for 6 months. D-Class is to enter SCP-XXXX-2, equipped with a hand sonar, a light attached to the head, a radar, an underwater scooter that lasts 1.5 hours at maximum speed, 3 hours of oxygen supply, 2 batteries, wireless camera, water-proof sample bag, one decoy and 2 beacons designated "Beacon A" and "Beacon B". The test chamber is to be observed via bullet proof glass window to adjacent control room and via audio and video recording devices. Additional trained Class-D are to be kept for future tests.

Results: Subject D-83684 (Male, 34, Strong build, Trained ) is instructed to enter SCP-XXXX-2. Subject complies. The camera as usual shows static for 2 seconds then turns to normal. Subject is instructed to place "Beacon A" at the starting point then to go "up" using the underwater scooter. Subject continues to go up for one hour and 30 minutes then stops to replace batteries. At that point, subject is instructed to return back to the control. After another 30 minutes subject began to express severe paranoia and distress and started going in circles. Control calmed the subject then advised him to return at control. After 45 minutes, subject is close to the event horizon. After another 26 meters, subject is dragged down by a current of water. Subject struggles and escapes by launching a decoy that distracts SCP-XXXX-2's attention. Subject escapes and returns back to the test chamber. A medical team is dispatched and arrives to take D-83684 to infirmary. Test ends.

Analysis: Subject D-83684 has severe barotrauma3 near the genitals, paranasal sinuses, eyes, skin and brain due to the high pressure distributed by SCP-XXXX-2. This confirms that SCP-XXXX-2 is a sentient and violent creature and possesses high-level memetic hazards. Subject's attempt of going to surface also proved us that SCP-XXXX-2 is an infinite mass of water. Future testing required to understand SCP-XXXX-2 behavior better.

Test E - Date: ██/██/2019

Subject: SCP-XXXX-2

Procedure: D-Class is to enter SCP-XXXX-2, equipped with a hand sonar, a light attached to the head, a radar, an underwater scooter that lasts 1.5 hours at maximum speed, 3 hours of oxygen supply, 2 batteries, wireless camera, water-proof sample bag, 3 decoys and 2 beacons designated "Beacon A" and "Beacon B". The test chamber is to be observed via bullet proof glass window to adjacent control room and via audio and video recording devices. Medical team is to be prepared if dispatch is required. Test should continue more than 2 hours only if necessary. Additional trained Class-D are to be kept for future tests.

Results: Subject D-48528 (Female, 25, Trained) is instructed to enter SCP-XXXX-2. Subject complies. The camera as usual shows static for 2 seconds then turns to normal. Subject is instructed to place "Beacon A" at the starting point then to go "down" using the underwater scooter. Subject continues to go deeper for one hour and 26 minutes then stops. Subject is instructed to proceed until the first set of batteries will need replacement. Subject complains about their order and wants to go back to the control. Control denies her request and remembers the subject that any Class-D not complying during the test will be "trapped" inside SCP-XXXX-2 by removing "Beacon A" thus giving no orientation for return. Subject starts to panic for a moment then calms herself. Subject continues descending as instructed for another 36 minutes then stops to replace the batteries. Subject begins slowly to show discomfort and paranoia. Control instructs her to go further down. Subject [DATA EXPUNGED] and protests against the control. Control warns her again about the consequences of her actions and continues to descent for another 5 minutes. D-48528 stops suddenly and becomes very agitated. Camera feed shows multiple bodies and coffins maintaining position. Deeper a huge black structure can be barely seen extending in unusual geometrical ways. Control instructs subject to approach closer the coffins and bodies. Subject becomes very agitated. Control instructs her to place "Beacon B" near her location. Subject places the beacon. Upon close inspection of the coffins and bodies, subject becomes extremely agitated and starts to swim in circles. The control tries to calm her but with no use. [REDACTED] designates subject for termination and removes "Beacon A". After 24 seconds, camera feed blurs and audio picks up sounds of slashing and possibly depressurization of the oxygen tanks. D-48528 is considered lost and test ends.

Analysis: Current test provided us with useful information. Further tests required to explore the black structure within SCP-XXXX-2.

Note: After Test E, Foundation Department considered that further research on SCP-XXXX-2 isn't necessary anymore. Test F began after Incident XXXX-I (see article first) due to required additional information about SCP-XXXX's history.

Test F - Date: ██/██/2021

Subject: SCP-XXXX-2

Procedure: Agent ██████ is to enter SCP-XXXX-2 and to intercept "Beacon B" 's signal and follow it; equipped with a hand sonar, a light attached to the head, a radar, an underwater scooter that lasts 1.5 hours at maximum speed, 3 hours of oxygen supply, 2 batteries, wireless camera, water-proof sample bag, 3 decoys and one beacon designated "Beacon A". The test chamber is to be observed via bullet proof glass window to adjacent control room and via audio and video recording devices. Medical team is to be prepared if dispatch is required. Test should continue more than 2 hours only if necessary. Agent must not at any circumstances approach the coffins nor the bodies found where "Beacon B" was released.

Results: Agent ██████ does as instructed. After one hour and 59 seconds Agent ██████ changes the batteries from the underwater scooter. Agent continues to descent until is very close to the signal's source. As instructed, Agent ██████ avoids the coffins and the bodies "field" and goes deeper. Camera shows the black structure more detailed. After 5 minutes of searching, Agent ██████ finds a way inside. The inside of the building is filled with breathable air and features long corridors flooded with water. Agent removes his helmet and enters a four way intersection room. He chooses the tunnel to the right. After that the walls closed behind him and new openings appeared. Agent continues to go down the hall and chooses new corridors in the same manner until finds a door that reads "Status: Unlocked". Agent enters what appears to be a huge circular room that features a glass dome. The room's walls are covered by different unknown substances and all the chairs are scattered around. A terminal can be found in the middle of the room presumed which states a brief record of a culture's history along with information about SCP-XXXX; entitled "Primary Modular Containment". Control asks Agent ██████ to take some samples of the substances, retrieve different records scattered around and to manage to transfer the record to the comand.
