Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:
As standard containment procedure, SCP-XXXX is kept within a 5m x 5m x 4m reinforced concrete chamber. A 30cm³, 5cm thick steel box must be placed over SCP-XXXX, and bolted to the floor when the object is not in use. When in use, the chamber door must not open under any circumstances. A reinforced steel electronic door must be installed completely flush with the wall of the containment unit. No space outside the chamber should be visible from within. Cracks and crevices within the containment unit shall be checked for and repaired on a monthly basis. For no reason should the door be opened while SCP-XXXX-1 is still imprinted on its host. In the event that the test subject is unwilling, or unable to shake SCP-XXXX-1's influence, or should somehow breach containment while imprinted, they are to be terminated.
Description:
SCP-XXXX possesses the appearance of a gradient, dark blue crystal with the geometry of a perfect pyramidal prism, and spans roughly 20cm from point to point. A light blue glow emanates from the direct center of SCP-XXXX. The origin, as well as the purpose of the internal glow, is unknown. Each point of the object is a tip of gold crystal. The subsurface of SCP-XXXX is decorated with moving, intricate spirals and abstract designs made of the same golden color. On the bottom of the object, there is writing of [REDACTED] origin which reads [REDACTED].
The prism was discovered after having been unearthed from the tomb of a Mayan priest in 1841 during an expedition.
SCP-XXXX passively emits a feeling of extreme curiosity to any human within a 10 meter radius. As a result, any person within the radius receives a strong urge to investigate SCP-XXXX. This feeling increases as proximity to the object decreases, until eventually the human is overcome with desire and will go to any length to examine the crystal. Sedatives have proven effective in these cases.
Upon physical contact with SCP-XXXX, the object will 'imprint' on whoever made first contact, and in doing so, an extension of SCP-XXXX will appear and enter the mind of the subject, hereby known as SCP-XXXX-1. Only one person can be imprinted on at any given time, and once imprinted, the item's passive force will cease. A tattoo depicting the crystal in full detail will appear on the affected subject's forehead. The only known methods of removing the imprint are as follows:
- The host expelling SCP-XXXX-1 through tremendous mental fortitude and willpower.
- Termination of the host.
No attempts to prevent the imprint have been successful.
As of yet, nearly all information regarding SCP-XXXX-1 has been obtained via accounts of test subjects. SCP-XXXX-1 appears to have no distinctive features. It has been described primarily as a bleach white, featureless, humanoid figure. Accounts state that the entity is able to communicate, but that communication is limited to images and feelings. It is unknown as to how or why SCP-XXXX houses such an entity. SCP-XXXX-1 will go to any length to befriend, intimidate, or even seduce the host so as to not be possibly wrested from its new home. In certain cases, the entity has been known to try and barter with the person.
SCP-XXXX-1 has previously been described as a 'tangible hallucination'. The entity is tangible to all five senses, albeit only to its host. It also seems to be able to interact with and even inhabit the real world to a certain degree. SCP-XXXX-1 can interact with the physical world, but the physical world is unable to interact with it. Thus far, any and all attempts to detect SCP-XXXX-1 have failed. From first appearance onward, the entity is permanently visible to the subject, it can reappear anywhere within their view, and can continue wandering from the host inside a radius of 30 meters. Inside this radius, SCP-XXXX-1 has been known to harm personnel, steal items, damage its containment chamber, or simply wander aimlessly.
SCP-XXXX can, contrary to previous belief, be temporarily shattered if hit with sufficient blunt force. Its destruction does not affect SCP-XXXX-1, however. When shattered, the crystal will begin to regenerate itself, and the amount of time needed is relative to how badly the crystal is damaged. The longest regeneration on record is approximately 2 minutes and 36 seconds.
