Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept on an artificial perch located in a windowless square chamber measuring 6 meters length and width. A red circle marking the experiment zone is to be placed, with the radius measuring 2.5 meters from the perch itself. This line is not to be crossed unless an experiment is scheduled to have taken place.
XXXX requires no sustenance to survive.
Any personnel assigned to XXXX must be of high mental and emotional fortitude.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a larger-than-normal, but otherwise regular member of the species Corvus Corax. However, SCP-XXXX displays a characteristic silence uncommon for members of its species.
When a subject sees XXXX, they will note a sense of unease. If, at any point, SCP-XXXX makes eye contact with the subject, they will feel compelled to be drawn within two meters of XXXX.
Upon entering this radius, the affected will report auditory hallucinations analogous to whispers, which have been described as “listing out all [their] sins.” The hallucinations persist for a period of about three minutes, at which point the subject will be rendered unconscious should they remain within 2 meters.
This state lasts for a varying period of time[1], and persists even when the subject is removed from range. The subject will not be lucid upon awakening. A period lasting between 12-15 hours when the Subject is lucid follows, during which the subject will have entered a state not unlike that of clinical depression.
If no action, such as the administering of amnestics, is taken, XXXX will emit a loud vocalization, upon which the subject will suffer cardiac arrest and be unable to be revived..
Addendum:
Footnotes:
1. Notably, those that had an extensive criminal record had a tendency to be unconscious longer than those who didn’t.
