Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard inanimate-object locker at Site-█. SCP-XXXX is not to come into contact with water under any circumstances.
Description: SCP-XXXX resembles a small foam pool float, seemingly designed for children or toddlers, measuring 30cm in length and 15cm in width (rounded). One side of SCP-XXXX has a small picture of 2 cartoon like fish, the other side simply with text saying “[DATA EXPUNGED]” presumably the name of the company who originally created SCP-XXXX.
If SCP-XXXX is to come into contact with water, it will begin to seemingly absorb a small amount of water. For a short time, SCP-XXXX will seemingly be stuck to the water like glue, unable to be picked up by anyone. After some time, it will unstick. The average duration of this process is usually around 20 seconds, although it has been seen to take almost 2 hours.
When this process is complete, the water picked up by SCP-XXXX will begin to form a small picture on whichever side is facing upwards when being held. The pictures usually look like something drawn by a small child. Out of proportion, messy and of innocent things, such as dogs, cars and elephants. The water creating the picture will fall onto the ground after around 10 seconds.
Although the pictures seem innocent, children who have viewed them will become SCP-XXXX-1. Within the next 24 hours, SCP-XXXX-1 will die from something related to what the picture depicted.
James Millins, 9, discovered SCP-XXXX by the shore of a river. For him, the picture showed a dog. Around 16 hours later, he was attacked by a vicious stray dog, biting his neck. The bite killed him when he couldn’t get to hospital in time and he bled out.
Emilia Norman, 11, discovered SCP-XXXX and viewed a picture of a car. 5 hours later, she was hit by a car at 50MPH, breaking her spine and killing her almost instantly.
Joel Smith, 6, viewed a picture from SCP-XXXX of an elephant. Later that day, he was taken to Colchester Zoo, England. That same day, an elephant ran out of it’s enclosure, stamping on him and squashing his entire body, killing him almost instantly.
