In the newest installment of the times's ongoing series covering the history of three-portland's first selectmen we look at Death-Murder’s years in the metaphorical jungle, and how this no name butcher went from selling tentacle meat, to selling policies.

Some years, he said he almost life in the butcher shop. "Going back to chopping off my own limbs to sell as squid meat to customers would have been better than this."

"If I could sell my own dismembered tentacle at my butcher shop, then there was no reason I couldn't sell myself on the campaign trail!"

"Those guys were real jerks, they completely sold us little guys down the river." Said the 8'5" octopus man.

"I remember he would host fundraisers in his backyard, and you could always tell he put everything he had into the campaign. Not everything, I mean, or else he wouldn't have been able to grow it back, but he was putting a lot of himself into the work."

"Some mages employ what is known as the law of scale, it is basically the principle that making a small changing on something small is easy, but making large changes to the world is a lot harder. Something about that really resonated, the idea that I could make permanent changes in someone's life that could last them a lifetime, but if I just try to fix everybody at once, it would be a lot easier for someone to come along and just undo all my hard work.

That was my approach to governing, I wouldn't just fix a pothole, I would make it so that pothole was fixed forever, and though I would try to fix the roads, I knew many of these changes would take cooperation and time to achieve."
