SCP-3286 taken out of its safe for testing, being held by Researcher ███

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a reinforced locked safe with a four digit security code at Site-19's High Value Item Storage Facility with one (1) armed guard stationed in front of it at all times to prevent any unauthorized personnel from attempting to use SCP-XXXX for anything other than research experiments within the facility.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a Hasselblad 500C Film SLR camera manufactured from 1970-1994. SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties manifest when it is loaded with any Medium Format 120 film and held in a human hand. After having film loaded into it, any photos taken with SCP-XXXX will be instantly developed in a Polaroid type fashion regardless of the type of film or back the camera has on (the pictures come out of the seam between where the body and film back are attached to each other if a Polaroid film back is not installed).

If a photo of a human or any other living organism is taken with SCP-XXXX, the nearest subject in focus on the picture (hereby designated as SCP-XXXX-1) will "animate" shortly after being developed, an exact all-be-it smaller version of whatever organism was photographed will appear on the film and will actively look for ways to escape the boundaries on the film in a panicked state until fainting approximately fifteen (15) minutes after the developing process has finished. Photos of inanimate objects show no anomalous properties.

Theories state that SCP-XXXX-1 enters a state of "shock" which causes the fainting spells. The scene on the film fades to black approximately five (5) minutes after SCP-XXXX-1 faints. All subjects who have had photos taken of them with SCP-XXXX (now referred to as SCP-XXXX-2) have described an overwhelming sense of unease and "dissociation" during the time when SCP-XXXX-1 is active. After the image fades to black, all instances of SCP-XXXX-2 have exhibited signs of extreme depression along with suicidal tendencies in 60% of cases. In the remaining 40% of cases involving SCP-XXXX, test subjects seem to develop an aversion or fear of photos taken of their likeness; stating that the pictures "are staring at them". Experiments between SCP-XXXX and SCP-███ are awaiting approval from the O5 Council.

Recovery Log: SCP-XXXX was retrieved on 26/04/2004 from a Marshall, Carter & Dark, Ltd. auction house in Somerset, England along with SCP-████ and several other SCP objects. No identifying marks or documents were found with it aside from the word "Hasseblad" embossed on the front of the camera body.
