SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained in a secure, locked box in its containment chamber at Site-██. SCP-XXXX is only allowed outside of its box during testing. Access to SCP-XXXX for testing requires permission from at least three Level 2 personnel. Due to the unknown capabilities and unpredictability of SCP-XXXX, it is to remain in containment at all times, and no further testing is scheduled under orders by Dr. ████████.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a Jack-In-The-Box toy of unknown origin. SCP-XXXX was discovered by the Foundation in a remote house near the ██████ Forest on 8/3/████, after receiving a missing persons report for the owner of the house going missing without a trace. It is theorized that the owner of the house was [REDACTED] due to SCP-XXXX. The box features artistic depictions of clowns on each side, except for the bottom. SCP-XXXX is comprised of plastic, lead, and paper. SCP-XXXX appears to be indestructible, as any attempt to deconstruct the box for further examination and testing has been met with failure.

SCP-XXXX has a hand crank on its side that can be wound up. As the crank is winding, a click from inside the box can be heard with each full rotation. On the third click, the box will open and a jack will pop out, similar to any regular Jack-In-The-Box toy. However, SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties take effect whenever the box is opened. Each time SCP-XXXX is wound up completely, an anomalous event occurs, though the result is seemingly random every time SCP-XXXX is used, making tests involving SCP-XXXX extremely dangerous and impossible to predict. The method used by SCP-XXXX to cause these events is currently unknown. The limit of what SCP-XXXX can cause to happen is impossible to tell, and all testing with SCP-XXXX has ceased due to its last usage (see SCP-XXXX Tests). When the event caused by SCP-XXXX ends, laughter can be heard coming from the jack, although the source of this sound is unknown. SCP-XXXX will close, and the crank can be wound up again.

Addendum: SCP-XXXX has been activated by the Foundation a total of 15 times, the last activation occurring on 8/28/████. The results of each test have been recorded in the following logs.
