Item #: SCP-8K47

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: The Pinarella forest in Cervia, Italy (44°15′N 12°22′E) is monitored at all times by Mobile Task Force Mu-13 for SCP-8K47 activity. Standard forestal containment procedures are followed to prevent civilian trespassing. Laser Interferometers are placed within the shelter (SCP-8K47-H) to aid in detection.

Capture is to be achieved by pressuring the entity to pass through the OCU-8K47-VII following Fast-Mover Containment Protocols.

Once contained, SCP-8K47 is to be transferred into a larger more stable unit on Area-6 (picture 1a) in which it is to be maintained at temperatures below 2K. Personnel is advised to exercise extreme caution during transfer, taking into account environmental factors such as terrain geometry, climate, land/air traffic, pressure, altitude, Coriolis effect with respect to the Earth, etcetera. Conditions must be ideal.

Hydrogen and Cryogenics Standard Containment Protocols are to be followed in the construction of the hanger housing SCP-8K47.

SCP-8K47 is to be contained in a suitable Orbicular Containment Unit (denoted OCU-8K47 mark VII) in which superfluid hydrogen-3 is pumped into during construction. The temperatures are kept in check with a combination of helium evaporation and photon lattices. It is comprised of Dune Steel1 and divided in four levels confined with laser grid induced optical molasses.

  • Level 3a: The innermost layer, in which SCP-8K47 is contained. Complex tubing mechanisms redirect the kinetic energy of the entity into the geometric center of the sphere and onto itself.
  • Level 3b: A vortex around the innermost level created by diverging the flow of the fluid. It serves the fuction of dispersing excess energy and is used as further containment measure.
  • Level 1: Where liquid helium evaporation is used to keep the containment unit at low temperatures and hydrogen is pumped and cooled using lasers as they pass in the tubes.
  • Level 0: The outermost layer, in which hydrogen detectors are located to prevent leaks. Atomic Interferometers are also placed in this layer to detect containment breaches.

For instances of SCP-8K47-L, containment units are identical, however capture and prolonged containment is as of yet unfeasible. Containment unit is maintained active for four hours once a week.

Description: SCP-8K47 is a 0K Bose-Einstein self-intersecting condensate that occupies a maximum spheroidal volume of 1 × 1 × 2.8 meters. However, when confined and unmoving, it behaves like a solid and its aspect can be observed. Whether the entity classifies as a humanoid object is being debated. SCP-8K47 is comprised of what are described as four octahedron ''structures'' configured to resemble vaguely a human and is widely recognized as such by 95% of personnel surveyed; the entity is also described as being male by 86% of the personnel surveyed.

(shape1)A regular octahedron measuring 40 × 40 × 40 cm at the top of the configuration functions as a head. The right tip is detached, apparently as a result of a fracture. As if it were a crystal, some shards hover close by it.
(shape2)
One irregular octahedron measuring 40 × 35 × 160 cm as the trunk. The upper half has a right angle and the lower half has an acute angle. It protudes forward, not dissimilarly to human breast. Its upper vertice connect with the lowest point of shape1. The bottom of the trunk is seemingly fragmented into shards of varying sizes.
(shape3L-3R)—Two oblate octahedrons measuring 10 × 20 × 80 cm as two upper extremities. They are joined to shape2 side vertices from the top and extend downward at the sides of the trunk.

SCP-8K47 responded to requests in exchange for sugary foods2 and is capable of understanding written language at an primary level. Despite this evident sapience, it has showcased complete immunity to memetic binding agents and memetic kill agents.

SCP-8K47 can produce a maximum of 3000 N of force and can accelerate to relativistic speeds; confirmed after it was recorded to travel a distance of more than 1000 km in less than 4 milliseconds; making its mass approx 10 mg.
To clarify: SCP-8K47 can attain these speeds by applying 3000 N of force onto itself as it is not limited by friction or gravity; it does not produce 3000 N of force by accelerating. SCP-8K47 is affected by relativistic effects.

SCP-8K47 is an “impune entity”. (see Impunity Hypothesis by Researcher Primo Coltelli) Previously denoted “poltergeist”. The entity can interact with the environment, however, the environment cannot interact with the entity. It can only be detected via the slight perturbations it causes upon exceedingly strong electromagnetic fields (hard X-rays to gamma rays) and in its often deliberate interactions with its surroundings.

SCP-8K47 is intangible and as such, it is able to ignore barriers and attacks, still the entity shows a preference for not passing through matter, relying instead on its relativistic movement speed to evade (though it seemed to have no need or interest in evading prior to its first successful containment).

SCP-8K47 obeys Newton's First and Second Law of Motion it does NOT, however, obey the Third.

By applying the Third Law, it can be inferred that SCP-8K47 is intangible as it cannot be acted upon by a force other than itself.
By applying the Second Law, it can be inferred that SCP-8K47 has mass, as acceleration results in greater force (see SCP-8K47/Discovery).
By applying the First Law, it can be inferred that SCP-8K47 moves by self-interaction, as there is no other force capable of acting upon it.

The hypothesis also offers an explanation for most “poltergeist” phenomena. SCP-8K47-like entities would have trouble grasping items, resorting to constantly accelerating them to hold them, perhaps resulting in the erratic movement observed. Although it is unclear whether SCP-8K47 could behave in this way out of frustration or mischievousness.

Prior to its successful containment and the consequent breach, SCP-8K47 often returned to the location of its discovery in Cervia. Referred to as SCP-8K47-Hotel, it is an elevated shelter crudely built upon two trees. It is composed primarily of wood and plywood, and comprised of two rooms that previously were connected.

Addendum 8K47/01: While being transported to Site-77, SCP-8K47 breached containment. How this occured is currently unknown (quantum vortices formation in the tubes being the most credited hypothesis). Not more than half a second after the fact, recorded activity indicated SCP-8K47 presence again on SCP-8K47-H. After accounting for time dilation ans delay in the instrumentation, the amount of time passed was approximately 4 milliseconds.

Addendum 8K47/02: Following several failed containment attempts, SCP-8K47 was ultimately contained on date 02/02/1978. Its volume and shape could be studied and its properties as predicted by Researcher Coltelli were confirmed. Months later, it began gyrating constantly never stopping for more than a few instances, possibly to hinder containment and/or study.

Addendum 8K47/03: By date 20/09/1979, the entity appeared to have lost its characteristics. Its fractures were gone and 92% of surveyed personnel stopped recognizing SCP-8K47 as male while 65% of personnel had stopped recognizing it as humanoid.

Addendum 8K47/04: On date 21/09/1979, SCP-8K47 breached containment. A combination of seismic activity (which caused no effect to the structural integrity of the Site's systems), solarlunar alignment and the unusual activity of SCP-8K47, resulted in sufficient variance in the containment unit positioning in space to allow the entity to phase through it. Less than 1 mm of the entity was able to permeate, which nonetheless was sufficient for it to breach.

After breaching, SCP-8K47 then proceded to cause 4 other containment breaches on-site and severely damaged appliances. (see Event SCP-8K47-Y) There was one casualty following this containment breach: Agent Bellerose of the French branch, killed in action during containment breach of another object.

To obviate this problem, a torus shaped unit was proposed and monitoring systems to measure the movement of the hydrogen inside the unit and atomic interferometers to detect movement outside the unit3 were added once more.

By order of the main branch, SCP-8K47 control is to be given to the Foundation French branch and the object containment is to be moved to Area-6, as it would lessen the probability of error by diminishing the travel distance from SCP-8K47-H and reduce collateral damage caused by containment breaches by isolating the object. Site Director P. Williams

Addendum SCP-8K47/05: One month following event SCP-8K47-Y, other pressurized containment unit tests on Site-77 were carried out. Within 12 minutes of operation, an entity was found to be contained in it. The entity, that was thought to be SCP-8K47, was in fact a different entity of the same nature. Hereafter designated SCP-8K47 Like Object 01 (SCP-8K47-L0)

Item #: SCP-03C7

Object Class: Keter

Secure Containment Procedures: As long as SCP-03C7 is observable outside of its containment unit, and not inside, the object is contained.

Description: When observed, SCP-03C7 occupies the entire field of view of the observer, except where the object actually is found. SCP-03C7 is an insect like creature resembling an arachnid disguised as canid.

Directly in front, the observer describes being the insides of the object, black fur begins at the sides, the snout and eyes of the object are found directly behind the observer.
