Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4340 is to be contained in a soundproof and sterilized containment locker. Test chamber must also be soundproof and sterilized, and door must be locked during tests.
update: following recent events, 2 designated staff members must take turns to look at a camera placed in SCP-4340's containment locker, and call designated personnel if a green light turns on. additionally, for any reason, no tests should be done on October 17Th.
Description: SCP-4340 is a mp3 player covered with rust. No battery is placed inside it and trying to do so leads to nothing. turning it off also seems having no results. a playlist of songs can be heard every day from it from 18:10 to 18:49 (UTC+1).
SCP-4340 seems to be connected to Fryderyk Chopin, since every song coming from SCP-4340 seems to be a composition from said author. The songs are random and never in the same order, but a reason of this phenomenon has yet to be found. Listening to the playlist will bring a sense of pleasure to the listener. people that heard SCP-4340's music showed signs of rejuvenation, with their wrinkles disappearing and their skin becoming softer. tested subjects have said to "have the need to scratch their skin continuously".
listening the SCP-4340 playlist leads the subject to want to listen to the playlist again for a second time. this however will cause the subject' s skin to shrink and tear apart, exposing muscles and organs, killing the subject.
A different audio can be heard when a green light appears on SCP-4340's screen. a voice of a male human speaking in polish can be heard talking to himself. when SCP-4340 is talking, is possible to interact with him, but only after hearing SCP-4340's normal playlist once. the voice will talk for the same time as the length of the normal playlist. even if tried, interaction with SCP-4340's voice is not possible. the topic of the audio may vary, but they are all about events connected to Fryderyk Chopin's life, such as his travel in France and the effort to compose his first song.
October 17Th: this date corresponds to Fryderyk Chopin's death. every subject that hears SCP-4340's music in this date starts to decompose, coming back to life after the play has ended as an SCP-4340-13. SCP-4340-13 is very hostile and will try to escape from test chamber. SCP-4340-2 will not approach if not with the intent to kill. animals have been also found victims of this effect.
discovery log: SCP-4340 was initially discovered in the house of the recently disappeared Silvia █████, deaf 85 year old woman living near Houston, Texas. when grandson Paul ███ and granddaughter Alice ███ arrived at Silvia's house, they said they found it empty but with 2 different melodies coming from inside (now is known that they were SCP-4340 and SCP-4088), leading the two to call the authorities. Federal state police and SPC security personnel going inside the house led to a massacre made by SCP-4088, to which followed SCP-4088 containment. the day after, Paul ███ and Alice ███' s bodies have been discovered in front of Silvia █████'s Home at 18:45 (LT), music still Playing. SCP Foundation personnel took custody of SCP-4340 for containment and further investigation.
