Living Shadow

Item #: SCP-

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP- must be kept in a locked room made of any solid material with a area of 6m x 6m and 6m high. The room is to contain one(1) object capable of casting a shadow at all times. The containment room is to be lit in a manner that the object will cast a shadow a away from the entrance at all times.
Personnel entering the containment area are to take precaution to not let any shadow they cast come in contact with the shadow cast by the object. All personnel leaving containment must be decontaminated by being exposed to bright lights until they no longer cast a shadow.
Due to unknown instances of SCP- MTF-(name a MTF here) is to be on standby to capture or terminate any instances found.

Description: Origin of SCP- is currently being researched however it is thought to be a new addition to the food chain due to it being largely hard to find.
SCP- inhabits a shadow cast by a object (Henceforth SCP-1). SCP- has shown to be capable of inhabiting shadows of living creatures with no adverse effects to either but only seems to do this as a last resort. SCP- Instances can stay in light for average of 5 minutes before expiring. SCP- instances appear as a shadow with nothing casting it. The longer it is outside of a shadow casted by a object it shrinks until expiration which occurs when the shadow takes up less than 5cm x 5cm. Most of SCP instances located by the Foundation were in warm climates and warm places this is thought to help in SCP- hunting process. SCP- instances makes the area around them, approximately 5 metres, colder by 1 degree centigrade at the hottest and 8 degrees centigrade at the coldest. SCP- does this as to attract small animals and even humans into SCP-1. SCP- instances have been noted to only begin attacking creatures inside SCP-1 after they have been in SCP-1 for 10 minutes, currently unknown why. SCP - attacks by eating parts of the creature inside of SCP-1 and has shown basic understanding of the anatomy of some creatures as it can target required parts for the creatures to function. SCP- instances gain surface area up feeding and such the biggest instances are the ones with the best hunting grounds. Should a SCP- instance achieve a surface area of 5m x 5m it will split into two small instances of SCP- each with a surface area of roughly 2.5- x 2.5m.
