Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored on a standard 4 GB USB flash memory data storage device. SCP-XXXX is harmless when contained on this device, as long as the contained file is unopened on a viewing device.
Use of SCP-XXXX is strictly prohibited with the exception of designated digital exploration tests, which must be approved by a minimum of three (3) level 4 personnel. Direct viewing of SCP-XXXX, for safety reasons, is only allowed to Class-D personnel. Higher-class agents are allowed in the testing room, but are not allowed to view or hear SCP-XXXX Following incident XXXX-4, no other personnel not being directly used for testing are allowed in the testing chamber. Any visual contact with SCP-XXXX via methods such as video cameras is also prohibited. Additionally, any live audio feed is prohibited.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a program entitled “oof.exe”. Once a flash drive containing SCP-XXXX is plugged into a computer, the program will immediately install itself. Given the .exe file name extension, this program has only been shown to work on laptops and computers running Windows software. Any copies made of SCP-XXXX do not contain the anomalous effects shown in SCP-XXXX, even when copied into the same file type. Additionally, any audio copies have been shown to not have an anomalous effect.
Upon opening and running oof.exe, a black background fills the screen. Moments later, white text appears, saying [DATA REDACTED]. Afterwards, an image appears similar to the head of a default character from the MMO game ROBLOX. The death sound from this game also plays. This portion has been referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. All images and audio clips that play afterwards appear to be edited or filtered versions of this section. The following images and audio clips are observed to have no effect on the subject, besides some slight confusion and slight disdain for the material. These are referred to as SCP-XXXX-1-A
After this point, anomalous effects are present on the subject. More white text appears, saying [DATA REDACTED]. Numerous disturbing images and audio files start playing, which are referred to as SCP-XXXX-1-B. Again, they are still just distorted and edited versions of the first, but the viewer notes considerable distress and discomfort. After a few more iterations, more white text appears, stating [DATA REDACTED]. At this point, extreme anomalies affect the subject.
Numerous iterations, designated SCP-XXXX-1-C, begin to appear. The subject begins to exhibit extreme terror and confusion, and begins to convulse and shake. They attempt to manually disable their hearing and vision, opening large wounds on their face and head. Upon the event that SCP-XXXX-2 doesn’t occur, the program automatically closes. The subjects at this point collapse on the floor in a comatose state.
On the occurrence that SCP-XXXX-2 does occur, the screen will warp outwards, stretching around the subject(s) and forcibly pulling them into the viewing device. Thus far, there has been no one to reappear after being consumed. After a period of 6 years, 6 months, and 6 days, the subject reappears in the exact spot from which they disappeared. A sudden void of darkness forms approximately 1.7 meters in height and .72 meters in width, from which the subject will appear, again in a comatose state.
SCP-XXXX was recovered by Agent Yourmom when numerous missing reports came in from the area. Going to investigate, he found a floppy disk containing SCP-XXXX. After obtaining it, he returned it to the Foundation where it was transferred to a flash memory USB drive. It was noted that the file, even when moved to a different memory drive, will have anomalous effects. It also appears that more sunsets of SCP-XXXX-1 will appear as the memory size increases. However, no one is allowed to test on any memory device bigger than a standard USB flash memory drive Testing with storage devices of up to five (5) terabytes has been allowed if approved by a minimum of three (3) O5 members, with the sole purpose of information study.
