Antumbra's Nonsense 1: Merlion
Tentative Title: No Otter Is An Island or The Land Complex
Item #: SCP-#
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: [i'll work on this later]
SCP-# is to be kept in a Storage Locker.
Due to its public nature, SCP-#-1 is to be maintained at its original location. Maintenance of SCP-#-1 is to be closely monitored for anomalous activity.
SCP-# is currently uncontained
Singaporean current affairs are to be monitored for any significant deviations from projected outcomes. This should be done through media from news outlets based outside of Singapore to avoid potential interference from SCP-# and SCP-#-2.
MTF Lambda-65 ("Otterwatch") is to track the movement of SCP-#. MTF operatives are to be equipped with respirators with protection against water vapour and possess (mind control training? ask the critters)
All materials related to the containment efforts of SCP-# should be kept outside Threshold # at all times.
Efforts to permanently contain SCP-# are ongoing.

Description: SCP-# is a sapient entity composed of gold and several small gemstones. It exhibits the ability to alter its form, most commonly to resemble various objects or organisms including humans. To this end, SCP-# can change the mass of its gold component and will use its gemstones as "eyes". It lacks any internal organs or sense of touch, and does not require sustenance or need to breathe apart from the purpose of vocalization.
SCP-#'s volume has consistently displayed a minimum limit of approximately 100cm3 and no maximum limit, although manifesting larger forms apparently places a significant strain on SCP-#. The entity has been known to remove gold from itself for various purposes; any amount of gold removed from SCP-# will shrink and dematerialise completely within an hour, otherwise retaining no anomalous properties. The gold takes similar physical and chemical damage to non-anomalous gold while the gemstones have not been observed to suffer any form of damage. Since discovery, SCP-# has not shown any signs of wear.
SCP-# is capable of speech and written language. Despite its estimated large mass, SCP-# has been known to utilise various animal forms for swimming and flight. It has been observed that SCP-# preferentially takes the form of a full-sized adult smooth-coated otter (Lutrogale perspicillata) of indeterminate gender; the significance of this is unknown.
SCP-# possesses three secondary anomalous properties that only manifest within the political boundaries of the Republic of Singapore, hereby designated Threshold #, and can be utilised by SCP-# remotely:
- Varying degrees of suggestive influence over humans and animals. This influence has been observed to be greater in Singaporean citizens and native wildlife.
- Mild reality-bending capabilities. SCP-# primarily used this ability to avoid contact with the public prior to the construction of SCP-#-1. It has also been observed manipulating weather conditions, creating technical malfunctions in machinery and possibly affecting the outcomes of the Singaporean general elections.
- Omniscience that cannot be hindered by any known physical barriers. As a result, SCP-# is aware of most information, events and Foundation activities within Singapore, including current affairs, unpublished literature, the locations, knowledge and intentions of persons, and SCP-2965.
Analysis of SCP-#'s behaviour since initial manifestation has indicated that it does not possess full control over these abilities. SCP-# also displays extreme difficulty in affecting unfamiliar technology and concepts. Up until the construction of SCP-#-1, the magnitude up to which SCP-# expressed its properties had been diminishing at a significant rate.
SCP-# exhibits a timid personality and actively avoids direct interaction with people where possible, usually fleeing if encountered, but has also been known to be exceptionally aggressive on occasion. It has been linked to several deaths, all of which saw the victims physically brutalised beyond recognition. The only consistent motive of SCP-# appears to be the preservation of its control over the area within Threshold #.
To date, SCP-# has only ever manifested within Threshold #.
Manifestation 1
Date: ██/██/1938
Description: SCP-# first came to the Foundation's attention when urban legends of a talking golden statue rose to prominence in Singapore. Foundation agents discovered SCP-# on Lazarus Island in its otter form. Upon visual contact, the entity was observed to approach the agents before suddenly withdrawing, fleeing into the ocean. Tracking of the entity was unsuccessful.
Remarks: This is the first recorded sighting of SCP-#.
Manifestation 2
Date: ██/██/1938
Description: First containment attempt of SCP-#. The entity had been spotted by agents on Pulau Hantu in a humanoid form and appeared to be writing in a leather-bound journal. Upon discovery, SCP-# fled into the ocean and tracking was unsuccessful; the assigned task force experienced moderate headaches, nausea and auditory hallucinations. It was soon discovered that all other Foundation personnel on Singapore were simultaneously experiencing similar symptoms. All personnel were temporarily evacuated from the island and containment methods of SCP-# were revised due to its large area of effect.
Remarks: The omniscient property of SCP-# was not known at the time.
Manifestations 5-9
Date: ██/12/1941
Description: During the Second World War, SCP-# entered army bases and harbours several times. Each of these manifestations coincided with Japanese air raids of Singapore that took place at night and was not witnessed by the public. In each instance, the entity was observed disabling or destroying streetlights, both physically and through the use of its properties.
Remarks: This is interpreted as SCP-# actively creating a blackout in anticipation of the air raids.
Manifestation 10 (Collective)
Date: ██/02/1942
Description: Numerous sightings of an entity matching SCP-#'s description were made during the Battle of Singapore. One account given by surviving Japanese soldiers described a "golden torpedo" suddenly appearing in the Straits of Johor during initial landings, ramming an invading barge three times before abruptly disappearing. The barge suffered no major damage.
Remarks: The exact details of these manifestations have never been confirmed.
Manifestation 11 (Collective)
Date: ??/??/1942
Description: Shortly after the fall of Singapore, the Japanese conducted a systematic purge targeting perceived hostile elements among the Chinese in Singapore. Many survivors of the purge have insisted that they had received divine intervention from a golden statue that would follow them from house to house when it was out of sight.
Remarks: Despite the range of its properties, SCP-# appeared directly before people in this instance. This may indicate that its properties are subject to some form of criteria. For more information regarding this manifestation, refer to Addendum #.1.
Manifestation 12
Date: ??/??/1945
Description: Following the surrender of the Japanese, incidents of looting and revenge-killing were widespread throughout the island. A rumour had spread that nine bodies of Japanese soldiers were found violently crushed to death in the same house as a bloodstained golden statue, most likely the same one from the previous manifestation. It had disappeared when Foundation agents arrived at the house later, leaving behind a large bloodstain.
Addendum #.1: Witness Interview
Note: Mr Lim Shih Hui was a survivor of the Japanese occupation of Singapore who had claimed to have interacted with the golden statue from Manifestations 11 and 12, suspected to be SCP-#. The following interview was conducted at Provisional Site 819 within the then unestablished Threshold #; the transcript has been translated from Mandarin.
Date: ██/██/1946
Interviewer: Dr Benedict Wong
Interviewee: Mr Lim Shih Hui
[BEGIN LOG]
Dr Wong: Good morning, Mr Lim. What can you tell me about your time under Japanese rule?
Mr Lim: I, uh, I was with my wife and son when the Japanese took over. The soldiers, they started going from house to house and gathering all the Chinese men they could find; it didn't matter what we were doing, they just came and dragged us from our homes. They asked some of us questions, s-something about China, I don't know. Then they, I… I… Oh god, I'm so sorry.
Dr Wong: I understand if talking about this is uncomfortable for you. Please, take your time.
Mr Lim: I'm so sorry. W-we knew something was wrong when the soldiers started putting us on trucks. Me and some of the others ran when they weren't looking, then there was some yelling and the soldiers started shooting at us and…
Mr Lim is silent for several seconds
Mr Lim: Sorry, I'm sorry, I just… god, I never knew how loud guns were, you know? I just ran and ran and hid in the nearest house. That's when I saw the statue.
Dr Wong: I see. (Dr Wong takes a moment to make a note) Please tell me more about this statue you saw.
Mr Lim: It was of Guanyin Pusa. It was made entirely out of gold, I'd never seen that much gold before. I was so shocked when I saw it but I could hear the soldiers behind me so I kept on running. Then I started hearing a voice telling me where to run, how to hide and it didn't matter if I was going insane or what, I just followed the voice. In the end, I found myself in an old shed. And the statue was in there. Waiting for me. Looking at me with those golden eyes. I'm sorry.
Dr Wong: Are you saying that the statue followed you?
Mr Lim: Please, you have to believe me! That voice must have been the voice of Guanyin. Those soldiers never found me again that day because Guanyin showed me mercy. I'm so sorry. I did try going back to that shed to pray to the statue, but it was gone.
Dr Wong: Have you ever encountered the statue since this incident?
Mr Lim: No, but I know a few guys who have. When we heard about the Japanese surrender, we took up whatever we could find and just attacked them. Three years of suffering under those bastards with their guns and executions and just… there was just so much hate and anger, you know? They came to our country and slaughtered us on our land. Me and a few others found an old house where someone had piled a bunch of the soldiers' bodies in the centre of the living room. They were all disfigured, we couldn't even make out their faces. And in the corner of the room was… the statue? My Crown and the warden must be one of mine, not from another Brother…
Dr Wong: Mr Lim? Are you alright?
Mr Lim: Sorry? Oh, there's not much I can recall about that. It's all so fuzzy, like a dream. But I know it wasn't a dream. It all sounded so real. So real. So sorry. That happened a few days ago, too, when I heard that voice again. The voice of Guanyin. It was so, so sorry. It told me to expect some kind of… Foundation, I think it said, to find me? Is that you people?
At the conclusion of this interview, Mr Lim was administered Class B amnestics and released.
Manifestation 13
Date: ██/██/1947
Description: Second attempt at containment of SCP-# and the first since 1938. Tracking of SCP-# took over a month during which agents experienced high rates of equipment malfunction and constant impulses to backtrack. SCP-# was supposedly tracked down and cornered, however, the task force sent to contain it instead found a lone long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis) holding a gold plaque with an English message that read "MY PEOPLE ARE YET RECOVERING. MY WORK IS UNFINISHED. YOUR CONTAINMENT IS A NOBLE CAUSE THAT WILL HAVE TO WAIT".
Remarks: The macaque was determined to be non-anomalous. The plaque shrank and dematerialised.
Manifestation 15
Date: ██/██/1948
Description: SCP-# was spotted in the surrounding waters of Singapore by field agent Iskandar Ibrahim, a citizen of the then Crown Colony of Singapore, while he was stationed in Johor, Malaya regarding containment of a separate Safe anomaly. He was instructed to track SCP-# and proceeded to pursue the entity by boat. Upon crossing Singapore's political boundary, Agent Ibrahim complained of vertigo before suddenly turning the boat to travel along the boundary. At this point, his radio was manually disabled and contact was lost. Agent Ibrahim was later discovered unconscious on the southern coast of Johor in the boat used to pursue SCP-#, along with five shrinking gold plaques.
Remarks: The plaques contained the same message as the one from SCP-#'s previous manifestation, each translated into a different language that was known to be used in Singapore. Following analysis of this manifestation, Threshold # was established.
Manifestation 24
Date: 13/05/1954
Description: SCP-# manifested during the National Service Riots in the form of a riot officer. SCP-# was publicly seen attempting to subdue the protestors but was also observed actively clashing with actual riot officers on the scene. All present were swiftly mass-administered Class A amnestics.
Remarks: This was the first major public appearance of SCP-#, causing a panic that had disrupted the ongoing riot. No casualties were reported. It was noted that SCP-# did not exhibit any of its secondary properties during this manifestation.
Manifestation 27
Date: 12/05/1955
Description: SCP-# manifested during the Hock Lee Bus Riots and attempted to rescue a police officer from a burning car, upon which the entity was attacked by a passing mob. Despite being effectively immune to physical damage, SCP-# immediately fled when it was attacked by taking the form of a sparrow. All witnesses were administered Class A amnestics.
Manifestation 34
Date: ██/09/1961
Description: SCP-# manifested at a gathering of people in the settlement of Bukit Ho Swee having taken the form of [REDACTED]. The mob expressed confusion and symptoms consistent with the effects of Class A amnestics, dispersing without further incident.
Remarks: It was concluded that SCP-# had been observing previous Foundation usage of amnestics within Threshold #, somehow emulating their properties psychologically and likely prevented a potential riot from breaking out. Containment procedures were updated accordingly to prevent further breaches of information.
Manifestation 37
Date: ██/██/1963
Description: SCP-# manifested as an otter in the state of Malacca, Malaysia, outside the previously established Threshold #. This was following Singapore's recent merger with the Federation of Malaysia.
Remarks: It was hypothesised that the merger had resulted in the technical expansion of Threshold # to include over half of the Malay Peninsula. In light of SCP-#'s drastically increased range of effect, containment efforts were immediately re-initiated.
Manifestation 38
Date: 21/07/1964
Description: SCP-# manifested during the 1964 July Race Riots. SCP-# appeared startled and only began to flee when visual contact was made by task force operatives. Pursuit of SCP-# continued for approximately 15 minutes before the operatives suffered simultaneous equipment breakdown, nausea and nosebleeds. Several trees in the area spontaneously burst into flames before abruptly returning to normal; the reason for this is unknown.
Manifestation 39
Date: 02/09/1964
Description: SCP-# manifested during the 1964 September Race Riots. The entity was pursued for over 2 hours before task force operatives suffered equipment malfunction and mild headaches. At its last known location, a shrinking gold plaque was found that read "YOU OVERSTAY YOUR WELCOME. YOUR FOUNDATION WALSK [sic] OVER ME UNDER MY PERMIT. KNOW YOUR PLACE".
Remarks: The marked decrease in SCP-#'s capabilities from the previous manifestation was noted.
Manifestation 40
Date: 10/03/1965
Description: SCP-# manifested in the form of an elephant along Orchard Road moments before the MacDonald House Bombing, chasing civilians away from its vicinity before the explosion. SCP-# itself was seen to have been caught in the blast, however, the task force sent to contain the entity was unable to locate it.
Remarks: A shrinking gold rock was later discovered by personnel on the scene. Scratched into its surface was the message "why do [ILLEGIBLE] you please take [ILLEGIBLE] bloody funda foundaton and gethe hell off off me [sic]".
Manifestation 41
Date: ██/09/1965
Description: SCP-# manifested at the Johor-Singapore Causeway a month after Singapore's declaration of independence following expulsion from the Federation of Malaysia. It was observed exploring the edge of Singapore's political boundary which no longer extended into the Malay Peninsula.
Remarks: SCP-# no longer manifested in the Malay Peninsula; Threshold # was confirmed to have returned to its previous size.
Manifestation 43 (Collective)
Date: ██/06/1969
Description: SCP-# made multiple extremely brief appearances throughout the 1969 Race Riots. No further information is available.
Addendum #.2: On ██/██/1970, SCP-# was successfully contained.
The following transcript is of footage taken from the recording device of Agent █████, one of the agents who interacted with SCP-# in the events leading up to its containment.
[BEGIN LOG]
The camera shows the neighbourhood of Queenstown.
The video experiences slight distortion. Small visual artefacts begin to appear. One of these visual artefacts moves across the screen on a balcony. It appears to move past the balcony edge and down to the ground in front of the agents.
All visual anomalies cease. SCP-# is visible in an amorphous form and is sluggish in its movement. The agents approach the entity.
SCP-# attempts to vocalise but no sound is heard. Agent (redundant name) notifies a task force
The form of SCP-# slowly begins to melt. The task force arrives to contain the entity.
SCP-# was contained at Provisional Site 819. During its containment, the following materials were released from the body of SCP-#:
- A single intact parchment written in gold lettering
- Several badly damaged pages
- The leather journal observed in Manifestation 2
These materials were removed from Threshold # for analysis (Refer to Addendum #.6).
3 days following initial containment, all movements by SCP-# ceased. Following a full year of inactivity, a request for reclassification of SCP-# from Keter to Neutralised was submitted to (ask the critters about this).
Addendum #.3: On ██/██/1972, SCP-# breached containment.
All on-site surveillance devices and materials regarding SCP-# was destroyed, corrupted or otherwise missing except for a single document, as shown in the following transcript.
Item #: SCP-#
Object Class: Archon
Special Containment Procedures: Leave it alone.
Description: A golden creature that means well. Nothing good will come of its confinement.
Addendum: Just leave Cr me alone. Please.
It was later discovered that SCP-#'s containment breach coincided with the completion of the statue of the Merlion. Analysis of SCP-# manifestations following this breach has led to the designations of SCP-#-1 and SCP-#-2.
SCP-#-1 is the statue of the Merlion, built in 1972 by the late Singaporean sculptor Lim Nang Seng (Chinese: 林浪新, pinyin: Lín Làng Xīn). It was originally located at the mouth of the Singapore River and had since been moved in 2002 to its current location at the waterfront of Marina Bay. It is constructed from cement and porcelain and appears to serve the purpose of an amplifier or catalyst for SCP-#'s anomalous properties.
SCP-#-1 contains a two-unit water pump system designed to intake water from Marina Bay which is then ejected through an outlet in the statue's mouth. This is a publicly known aesthetic feature of SCP-#-1. Any water that passes through the system and is ejected in this manner is hereby designated SCP-#-2.
SCP-#-2 is indistinguishable from water apart from its anomalous properties. Ingestion of SCP-#-2 or the inhalation of its vapour has antimemetic effects, rendering subjects incapable of perceiving SCP-#, physical actions taken by it and any gold removed from SCP-#; this effect extends to photographs and video recordings. In addition, subjects will disregard the anomalous nature of most events induced by SCP-# and are significantly more susceptible to its suggestive influence. These effects last up to three weeks with no long-lasting effects.
Any water that comes into contact with SCP-#-2 or its vapour will take on its anomalous properties, turning into additional instances of SCP-#-2. SCP-#-2 contamination does not extend beyond Threshold # and samples of SCP-#-2 brought beyond Threshold # immediately lose their anomalous properties. Affected subjects that exit Threshold # will no longer be under the effects of SCP-#-2.
Before Incident #, all exposed bodies of water and water vapour within Threshold # had been converted into instances of SCP-#-2.
Following its breach of containment, SCP-# manifestations saw an alarming increase in frequency. At the same time, physical manifestations of the entity itself became extremely brief, severely hindering containment efforts.
Manifestation 45
Date: ██/██/1972
Description: The first containment attempt of SCP-# since its breach of containment. The task force fell under the effects of SCP-#-2 and [REDACTED]. They were later discovered in a comatose state at their last known location. All personnel fully recovered within several hours upon exiting Threshold # and did not retain any memory of the manifestation.
Remarks: Following this, MTF Lambda-65 ("Otterwatch") was formed for the purposes of containing SCP-#.
Manifestation 52
Date: 31/01/1974
Description: SCP-# manifested during the Laju Ferry Hijacking. Prior to manifestation, the hijackers' boat ran aground on a nearby coral reef, an event likely induced by SCP-#. The hijackers swam to the shore of Pulau Bukom and were attacked by [REDACTED]. The terrorists were only able to detonate 3 of the 19 explosives which they were carrying, 7 of which were later found to have developed antimemetic properties.
Remarks: Officially, no casualties were reported. It was discovered that of the five original hijackers observed by Foundation personnel, only four were ever documented by the public and video footage.
Manifestation 68
Date: 07/01/1979
Description: Dismembered human remains possessing antimemetic properties were discovered near Geylang Bahru in four piles roughly separating the head, torso, arms and legs. A gold plaque had been forced through the sternum, bearing the word "SCUM". The plaque did not shrink until it was removed from the corpse.
Manifestation 70
Date: ██/██/1979
Description: SCP-# manifested near Pedra Branca. Agents reported that the entity was behaving in a very confused manner, repeatedly swimming ashore and returning to the water for 20 minutes.
Remarks: Pedra Branca was the subject of a dispute of whether it fell under Singaporean or Malaysian territory. This may have caused SCP-# to be "unsure" over the exact boundary of Threshold # at Pedra Branca.
Manifestation 112
Date: 26/03/1991
Description: SCP-# manifested during the hijacking of Singapore Airlines Flight 117. During the assault on the hijackers, embedded Foundation agents reported the presence of SCP-# aboard the plane alongside the assault team. All seven hijackers were killed with no hostage casualties.
Remarks: Similiar to Manifestation 52, only four hijackers were ever publicly documented. Public complaints of a rotting smell outside the airport the following week alerted Foundation personnel to an antimemetic body hung by its entrails from a streetlight, determined to be the corpse of one of the hijackers. A large gold nail was found embedded in the left eye socket and not shrink until it was removed. The last two hijackers could not be accounted for.
Manifestation 115
Date: ██/01/1992
Description: SCP-# travelled to Mount Faber carrying a gold flower. It stood at the apex and was motionless for about a minute, then lay the flower down and left before containment was initiated. The flower subsequently dematerialised, albeit at a slower rate than previously documented.
Addendum #.4: In 1995, two more Merlion statues were constructed. One on Sentosa sculpted by Australian artist James Martin, one outside the Tourism Court made in Philippines. A third one being constructed in Hong Kong was seized by the Foundation before it could be transported to Singapore. Analysis has shown that the statue itself was non-anomalous.
In 1998, another three merlion statues were constructed. One on Mount Faber, a pair at Ang Mo Kio.
Following the construction of the additional Merlion statues, the frequency of SCP-#'s manifestations increased again.
Manifestation 188
Date: ██/██/2001
Description: While Singaporean authorities were conducting raids to arrest members of Jemaah Islamiyah, SCP-# was discovered alongside the police in the form of a middle-aged man dressed similarly to the police officers. No further information is available.
Manifestation 210
Date: ██/██/2003
Description: During the SARS Outbreak in Singapore, SCP-# acted erratically and [REDACTED].
Remarks: It is not unknown if this indicates an inability to affect pathogens or if the entity suffers some detrimental effect from the mass infection of people within Threshold #.
Manifestation 243
Date: ██/██/2006
Description: [DATA EXPUNGED]
Manifestations 267-490
Date: 27/02/2008-28/02/2009
Description: SCP-# manifestations increased to a rate of at least once every two days. The exact date this began was found to coincide with the escape of Mas Selamat Kastari, a convict who had been detained in Singapore.
Remarks: Mas Selamat was for more than a year Singapore's most-wanted fugitive after escaping from detention. SCP-#, despite possessing regional omniscience, never located him. The reason for this is unknown.
Addendum #.5: Incident #
On 28/02/2009, the SCP-#-1 was struck by lightning and suffered minor damage to its facade. SCP-#-1 immediately underwent repairs by local maintenance crews which were completed on 18/03/2009.
In the weeks following this incident, several public sightings of an entity matching the description of SCP-# were made. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that SCP-#-1 and SCP-#-2 no longer displayed any anomalous properties. SCP-#-1 and SCP-#-2 have been reclassified as Neutralised.
Addendum #.6: Recovered materials
All materials related to SCP-# have been found to contain accounts of an entity determined to be [REDACTED]. The transcripts of these materials have been arranged below in what is hopefully a chronological account.
Transcript of parchment recovered from SCP-# written in gold lettering. Translated from Musi.

I spent a few week learning the language of the men who come to me. They come from South Brother. The man who gave gift is prince of place Palembang, I think very important. The gift is still heavy but I can control hand better now, using gift to make word like men use. At first I not understand word man call other man, but then I learn they call other man "name". They give me name, too, █████████. It sound funny but I let them. Does gift have name? Maybe I can give gift name.
I can only see the man when gift see them, but the gift can not-seen. Good when I want watch man with gift not-seen. I name not-seen Shroud. Shroud is good, fun.
(The next three pages are filled with random new words and notes on Musi grammar, along with several crude drawings of what appear to be people. A large gold blot on the third page has been labelled "gift, with not Shroud".)
I think I've gotten a good grasp of the language these men use. I had some help from South Brother whom the men had taken to naming Sumatra. The men refer to themselves as Srivijavans, some form of title for their empire. Other Brothers have already had men for a while, but it's to be expected. I'm so small compared to the rest of them, after all.
Brother Sumatra tells me all these stories of the other Brothers. To the West is Brother Egypt and to the North is Brother China, both of whom are very large and very old. There's also Brother Japan and Brother England. The hierarchy of men is so very interesting.
I'm also told of Sister who is apparently everywhere. Sister is on me and all the Brothers, we are her foundation. I told Brother Sumatra I don't understand. He just laughed and tried explaining again, then gave up after a while.
I noticed my warden constantly wore a golden headdress called a crown that acts as a proclamation of title. It was only after many nights that I realised that that was what the gift had been before it was mine.
So I've decided to name the gift Crown. That's what the men called it before it was gifted to me. It's not like they would be able to use it like I do Crown.
The men's buildings are starting to get pretty heavy. My warden lives in what they call a palace, some form of royal housing.
It has been an interesting couple of months. What I don't understand is which leader I should be looking at, and I'm sure the common men think the same. Among my Brothers, I appear to be of great importance for whatever reason; I've tried asking North Brother why but he hasn't got a clue.
Crown recently went to one of the grand buildings that my warden and his closest subordinates live in
Well then. I have a new warden.

it has been ninety years since i could see. how much has the world changed?
I need to collect my bearings. Crown will help me see. Focus.
Something is wrong. Crown approached a man with the Shroud activated. Or at least, I thought it was activated.
The man looked at Crown. He SAW Crown.
Does Crown not have the Shroud anymore? Did the blast back then do something to Crown?
So a peculiar thing happened today. Three people arrived on the island I had left Crown on. They came from a Brother named "Foundation". I thought it odd; I'd never known a Brother by that name. I got Crown to approach them, blindly hoping that the Shroud would activate. The men of Foundation saw it. What was I expecting?
And then I saw their minds. They had come to "contain" me. things these men knew were… very interesting. It reminded me of when Crown was first gifted to me.
There's got to be something I can do about this.

I can't be discovered. I know what they'll do, the single-minded lot of them. They'll put me in a great cage and lock Crown away for their containment. Fortunately they only seem to know about Crown, but how long will that last? Hopefully the message I left for them will dissuade them for a little while; I've still got to figure out how to get the Shroud back.
My Brothers are talking again. There's fewer of them now. Their men used bombs that created holes in them. Sister has grown weak but she's still here, so that's something.
The Foundation is starting to get cocky.
I'm not sure what to write about this.
My men did something to me and Brother Malaya. Now we've become Brother Malaysia. Crown can move around a lot more now, but everything is so heavy.
It's so hard to move Crown now.
There's a statue being built. I gifted the sculptor one of Crown's jewels as a memento to my men. He will not remember it but he won't have to.
I can hear Sister's words. She is sad.
I leave this world with no regret.

Uh, well, I don't know where to start.
For one, I'm still here. Two, the Shroud is working again. It's a lot stronger now. All the water in and across me now carry the Shroud. Is the statue doing this?
In any case, I had to find a new medium for my journals. The Foundation went and took my old materials

The statue's been destroyed. Struck by lightning. How could I let this happen?
I can already feel my grip loosening. This can't be happening. This cannot be happening. This cannot be happening.
DAMN IT ALL I WILL NOT GO LIKE THIS
I've not had this feeling in a long time. I am alone. I am terrified.
I thought my men depended on me. And for a time, I was right. Not anymore. They walk over me now, I can feel them and all their little feet digging into me but can't see I can't control them This is the end for me. I am so sorry. i a m s o r
I just want to rest. my brothers have already lost their voice, soon i will join them. sister has already left this world. there is now only the foundation in the hole in the world she left behind.
Foundation. foundation. we all need our own foundation.
dont you think so too, crown?
i will not go with regret. i will have lived and died just as my brothers have. maybe they are all already waiting on the other side.
my time has come. my last words with crown and i shall leave him in this world.
a final gift from me. thank you.
goodbye
