Item #: SCP-7606
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-7606 is to be kept in a underground containment chamber with the outer layer consisting of concrete, all with the same chemical composition as the concrete that SCP-7606 resides on. Finished with a reinforced steel second layer to ensure that SCP-7606 does not escape containment via underground deposits of rock.
The containment chamber is also to be fitted with at minimum 3 kimonos to comfort SCP-7606. The entrance to SCP-7606's containment chamber is to be guarded by two armed guards, and rotated once a week as to not frustrate SCP-7606.
Description: SCP-7606 consists of a piece of concrete seized by the Foundation on █████- ██- ████. On the concrete, is a shadow like figure that takes on the appearance of an old lady holding a walking cane, this shadow like figure is the only physical appearance of SCP-7606 known to the foundation, record scanning of the Hiroshima victims report and Japanese birth records have proven unsuccessful on locating who the anomaly was before she was altered into her current state.
SCP-7606 does possess the ability to talk, however it can only communicate with one singular person using psychic means to communicate. SCP-7606 seems very knowledgeable about the happenings of WWII and life in Japan during the war, and thus talks a lot about those subjects with anyone in a 30 meter radius that has mentally accepted the will to talk to SCP-7606.
SCP-7606 once it has chatted enough to know the person it has talked to indeed has a spouse or husband, will begin talking about her husband, which was reported by Dr. Ellen Drysel, a researcher that has talked to SCP-7606, to have been an Imperial Japanese soldier that had been killed in the Pacific War, during the early days of the conflict. She has also talked about how she has experience in making kimonos and that was her source of income as her husband was off fighting and inevitably died.
The means in which SCP-7606 obtained her anomalous properties are explained as follows. SCP-7606 was caught on the blast of the American nuclear bomb designated "Little Boy". Her physical state was altered by the blast, and her mental state was fragmented between two dimensions. There where many more "Hiroshima Shadows" like SCP-7606 but the other anomalies where destroyed during the rebuilding of Hiroshima, however SCP-7606 was the only Hiroshima anomaly that was successfully relocated to the Foundation.
SCP-7606 has never been shown to physically harm anyone. But can get annoyed or angry. Like any other human, SCP-7606 can get annoyed when being toyed with, blackmailed, or made fun of. Other than that SCP-7606 seems to be very calm.
SCP-7606 does not require any form of sustenance and its means of energy are unknown. SCP-7606 has has the ability to leave its home concrete and roam around the surrounding concrete in its containment cell in a two dimensional fashion as if a person's shadow was being cast onto the wall. However, it cannot travel along any other substances other than concrete. But it always goes back to its home concrete to rest during the nights, as it follows a human-like day and night cycle.
Trials to persuade SCP-7606 to give its real name have all resulted in failure. As SCP-7606 just simply ignores the question. Foundation staff at Site-██ keep it their main priority as they state, knowing the SCP's real name would help research if it was something genetic that gave her these anomalous properties.
Addendum 7606-1A: Dr. █████ was tasked on retrieving the true name of SCP-7606. Later that day SCP-7606 finally gave in and told the doctor her true name. On his way to give the report and data to the Site Personnel, a D-Class being transported got a make-shift knife and stabbed the doctor. The means in which the D-Class had made the knife are unknown, and was terminated the next day. Dr. █████ never recovered from his injury and perished. When Foundation staff looked over the data and notes the doctor took, the name that the doctor had wrote, seemed to have been erased cleanly.
Addendum 7606-2A Dr. ███████ was assigned as a replacement for doctor █████ after his untimely death. Dr. ███████ was also successful in getting the name, and gave a copy of the name to two other researchers to ensure the Foundation retrieved it one way or another. However during the time they had received the name, the Chaos Insurgency had breached into Site-██ and during the breach, both junior researchers carrying the copies of the names were killed by the CI. However Dr. ███████ was only found days after the breach in the janitor's closet dead. Likely caused by a K-9 like SCP. When MTF unit Nine-Tailed Fox had entered and contained the facility, they checked all data. Again, all traces of the names on the data and clipboards were erased by unknown means.
Note: Due to this streak of events, retrieval of SCP-7606's name is on hold. It has also been observed by the 05 council that the staff of Site-██ seem to be paranoid of a notion of bad luck to all that get SCP-7606's name, and thus no volunteers have been able to continue the project. The Ethics Committee has also denied the permission to force anyone into the project. I'll be requesting Class-B amnesics for all the paranoid staff. -Dr. Apel
