Item #: “Game”
Object Class: Euclid
Containment Procedures: Should “Game”, which is not SCP-4081-02, be written about, it is to be written as “Game”, and a statement must be made that “Game” is not SCP-4081-02. “Game” is to be kept in a sealed container in Site-14 at all times. Due to the addictive nature of “Game”, the playing of “Game” is strictly prohibited unless approved by no less than a two-thirds vote from the O5 Council. Should a “Game”-S escape containment, they are to be terminated by MTF Alpha-1. Any “Game”-S in containment is to be given full access to “Game”.
Description: “Game”, which is not SCP-4081-02, is a file kept on a small flash-drive and is extremely harmful and addictive to sentient beings. “Game” also has an effect on anything written about it - anything written about “Game” changes in a way that tempts the reader to play “Game”, and states that “Game” is perfectly safe and harmless. Playing “Game” will cause severe side effects with 5 stages, seen below. Should someone play “Game”, they are to be considered “Game”-S
Stage 1 (First Week): Subject will enjoy playing “Game”, and play it from time to time at a normal rate.
Stage 2 (Weeks 2 to 3): Subject is addicted to playing “Game”, and will play it whenever possible.
Stage 3 (Weeks 4 to 11): Subject will play “Game” at all times, leading to severe malnutrition and introversion. Most subjects (78%) die at Stage 3.
Stage 4 (Weeks 11 to 15): If a subject has survived Stage 3, the subject will attempt to convince others to play the game, even going to such far lengths as threatening another’s life. Subject will play the game almost all the time, taking breaks only to eat, drink, or convince others to play with him or her. Subjects become extremely stressed and agitated when someone refuses to play "Game".
Stage 5 (Weeks 15 to death): Subject will go back to playing constantly, until malnutrition kills them.
“Game” is a multiplayer, competitive game with a maximum of 500 players. It is a first-person shooter which takes place in a battlefield. Players are given a primary, secondary, and tertiary weapons. They may choose which weapon to use in any slot. Primary slot choices include automatic rifles, sniper rifles, and plasma rifles. Secondary slot choices include pistols, revolvers, and semi-automatic handheld guns. Tertiary slot choices include “Explosion”, “Teleport”, “Portal”, and “Heal”. The objective of the player is to kill as many players of the opposite team as possible. There isn’t a “round” system, but instead a “respawn” system. Any player who dies respawns immediately, and said respawn is put in the scoreboard. The players with the least amount respawns are regarded as “better”, and the players with the most amount of respawns are regarded as “worse”. Any time a new player is created, the round restarts. There are currently 486 identified players of “Game”, 278 of which are foundation personnel. Because of this ratio, it is believe that “Game” is being distributed through an unknown source. The effects of "Game" only effect those who play "Game" - watching another person play "Game" is perfectly safe.
