Item #: SCP-5672

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-5672 are to be kept in a Secure Item Containment Locker, with experimentation on SCP-5672 only to be conducted with direct permission of the appropriate Research Director assigned on-site. Any individuals seen consuming SCP-5672 are to be detained, questioned, and kept in observation for a total of twelve (12) hours. Under no circumstances are any individuals under the effects of SCP-5672 be allowed to fall unconscious, unless clearance is given by Level 4 personnel for testing on Class-D personnel.

Description: SCP-5672 takes the appearance of six (6) individual cannabis distillate cartridges, designated as SCP-5672-1 to SCP-5672-6, with each instance of SCP-5672 being labeled as “Insecta Perfecta.” Analysis of the contents of SCP-5672 instances show that SCP-5672 are each a strain of Cannabis indica, with the additional inclusion of insect pheromones. Each instance of SCP-5672 contains a different strain of insect pheromone, with the cartridge being labeled with a name relating to said insect species.

Upon SCP-5672 being inhaled via a “vape pen,” the individual, now designated as SCP-5672-A, will report no immediate abnormal sensations other than a typical high. Thirty (30) minutes into the “high,” SCP-5672-A subjects have unanimously reported sensations of “things crawling on their skin.” SCP-5672-A will also show a strong aversion to any insect except for the insect specified on the distillate cartridge. When SCP-5672-A is introduced to the insect specified by the distillate cartridge used, subjects will ignore it and show seemingly no distress response to being exposed to the insect, even if the SCP-5672-A had previously shown an active fear or disgust of said species of insect. Additionally, related insect species will show lower aggression patterns or fear responses to SCP-5672-A.

No outstanding anomalous effects make themselves present until SCP-5672-A falls unconscious. It should be noted that SCP-5672 instances do not have an increased sedative effect, and SCP-5672-A will typically remain awake unless prompted to or sedated. Upon SCP-5672-A entering an unconscious state, SCP-5672 will activate its primary anomalous effect, and will attract any insects pertaining to the SCP-5672 instance in general until a minimum of one-hundred (100) insects of the related species have entered the room containing SCP-5672-A. It has been observed that in the event that no related species are in the general area, SCP-5672 appears to “manifest” species of said insect into the room containing SCP-5672-A until the minimum requirement of one-hundred (100) insects has been acquired.

Once the minimum required insects has been attracted into the general room containing SCP-5672-A, all insects will begin to move towards SCP-5672-A’s body. The insects will continue until reaching the subjects ears, in which the insects will begin to push themselves into the subjects ears. Upon reaching the interior of the ears, the insects will return to normal behavior, which will typically result in permanent damage to SCP-5672-A’s ears, as the remaining insects push the now non-affected insects further in the subject’s ear canal. This process will continue until SCP-5672-A’s ears have been completely filled with insects, to which the remaining insects will disperse or remain idle until SCP-5672’s effects wear off fully.

Testing has shown that SCP-5672-A will typically wake up during this event, but will not show any signs of distress or acknowledgement of pain until the process has been completed. When questioned, SCP-5672-A instances will seem puzzled when the subject of insects in their ears is brought up as something abnormal, and will refer to the event as if it is a natural phenomena. SCP-5672-A instances instantly will stop perceiving the event as normal following its completion, and should no longer be considered SCP-5672-A instances.

Instances of SCP-5672 each possess a unique psychological trait that will appear in SCP-5672-A when consumed. This mind-altering effect will only manifest itself when the subject comes into contact with the order of Insecta specified by SCP-5672, but does not match the specific species related to SCP-5672. SCP-5672-A instances under the influence of these mind-altering effects will be unable to determine what is causing the effects, and will not be able to justify how they feel. No signs of aggression towards other species of insects have been recorded in SCP-5672-A instances. Furthermore, introducing SCP-5672-A to species mimicking species related to the SCP-5672 instance used does not appear to “fool” the effect, and will retain the same aversion displayed towards unrelated insects.

No descriptions specifying the species of insect on SCP-5672 instances have been identified, but testing of insect pheromones found within SCP-5672 instances have proven reliable in determining specific insect species.

  • SCP-5672-1 is labeled as “Tantalizing Ants,” and contains trail pheromones matching that to its linked insect species, Formica fusca. When exposed to any other species in the order Hymenoptera, SCP-5672-A will display feelings of hunger and thirst, however, subjects will claim that they are unable to consume food during this time.
  • SCP-5672-2 is labeled “Eerie Earwigs,” and contains pheromones matching those secreted by the repugnitory glands of its linked insect species, Labidura riparia. When exposed to any other species in the order Dermaptera, SCP-5672-A will display feelings of unease and distrust towards said insects.
  • SCP-5672-3 is labeled “Humble Bees,” and contains pheromones matching those found in queens from the species, Bombus terrestris. When exposed to any other species in the genus Bombus, SCP-5672-A will display symptoms related to that found in individuals undergoing “ego-death.” Unlike other SCP-5672 instances, SCP-5672-3 appears to only target species in the Genus, Bombus, and SCP-5672-A instances will display natural fear reactions to any species in the order Hymenoptera unless directly in the genus Bombus.
  • SCP-5672-4 is labeled “Incognito Mosquito,” and contains pheromones matching those secreted by the species, Aedes aegypti. When exposed to any other species in the order, Diptera, SCP-5672-A will express desires to be alone and unobserved.
  • SCP-5672-5 is labeled “Superstitious Silverfishes,” and contains pheromones matching those found produced by the species, Lepisma saccharinum. When exposed to any other species in the order Zygentoma, SCP-5672-A will display feelings of anxieties towards superstitious ideologies, most typically manifesting in a form of phasmophobia in which SCP-5672-A will be convinced of the presence of ethereal beings around them.
  • SCP-5672-6 is labeled “Cockroach Reproach,” and contains sex pheromones produced by the species, Blattella germanica. When exposed to any other species in the order Blattodea, SCP-5672-A will express feelings of disapproval and disappointment towards said insects. When testing species in the super order Dictyoptera not found in the order Blattodea, SCP-5672-A instances displayed no additional anomalous behaviors outside of behaviors displayed towards unrelated insects.

Replication of SCP-5672’s anomalous properties has proven difficult, but possible. Distilling Cannabis sativa indica into Cannabis indica distillate cartridges, and incorporating the appropriate amount of insect pheromones, have proven to replicate the effect upon placing them into the appropriate cartridge containers for a total of two (2) weeks. Removing the cartridges from the container before the two (2) week period is over has shown to nullify the conversion process, and reintroducing them to the container has shown to be ineffective in restarting the conversion process. Furthermore, other strains of cannabis, such as Cannabis sativa cartridges, have shown to be ineffective in the replication process.

Addendum-5672-1: SCP-5672 was recovered from the ███████ residence, an English speaking family in Zagreb, Croatia. Foundation operatives were alerted upon receiving reports of an individual of the family suffering permanent hearing loss and internal damage to the ear canal following an incident involving the subjects ears being filled with earwigs. Eye witness reports claim that the victim woke up during this event, and appeared oblivious to the event taking place.

Foundation agents were dispatched and SCP-5672 was retrieved. An interrogation of all affected individuals shows that the family had come into contact with a new dealer, and all attempts of tracing the individual through descriptions given by family members have proven inconclusive. All family members and doctors assigned to the initial victim have been given Class-G Amnestics.

Addendum-5672-2: Similar reports of anomalous drugs have been reported around the Balkans, however, no teams dispatched to investigate these reports have recovered any further anomalous drugs on scene. An eye witness report of one, ████ ██████, claims that the suspect distributing these anomalies appears of Asianic descent, standing at approximately 1.9 meters in height. ████ ██████ states that the suspect wore a "hoodie" with most of their features obscured.

Further investigation has concluded that the suspect in question is likely based in Peja, Kosovo. Attempts in further narrowing down the suspects location have proven ineffective, with several eye witness reports claiming the suspect invited them into a building, with its interior matching the description of an unlit pharmacy. Contradictory statements as to the whereabouts of this building have been noted, and all buildings described have proven to be seemingly non-anomalous in nature.

Addendum-5672-3: Repeat buyers have claimed that they suspect that the suspect is not one entity, but a collective of individuals, referred to on the black market as "The Servants of Soma." The formation of Mobile Task Force Chi-12 ("God's Flesh") has been authorized, with their current objective being the tracking and recovery of as many anomalous drugs within the Balkans as possible, as well as the interrogation of individuals suspected to have come into contact with the GoI "The Servants of Soma." Members of Chi-12 are to remain undercover as civilians and attempt to purchase as many drugs from said GoI as possible for Foundation research.
