Special Containment Procedures: Operation of SCP-XXXX must be approved by level 4 personnel. SCP-XXXX is currently located in Sector B of Site-98 for further study.1
SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a standard storage room, and is to be monitored at all times by automated cameras. Any disturbance, especially extradimensional in nature, must immediately be responded to. Even by force, if necessary.2
A parking boot with extradimensional restraining capabilities is to be fitted to a wheel of SCP-XXXX, and inspected bimonthly. In the case of permanent failure of the boot, a new one must be procured. The only known method of obtaining an new boot is by activating SCP-XXXX and employing procedure Y.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a two-door convertible sedan of unknown make and model, with stylistic design heavily resembling that of late 1950s era automobiles. It is mildly worn, showing signs of minor rust, and rubber degradation. The convertible fabric is completely missing, and its interior is notably tattered.
The dashboard however, is radically different than that of similar vehicles. Along the whole of it, a total of 127 assorted buttons, knobs and switches have been counted, in addition to 8 foot pedals, 3 shifting levers, and 22 analog gauges. Only a minor fraction of their purposes are understood, and further study is continuing. The steering wheel has 2 axis of movement3, 10 push-buttons, 4 different column levers, and a horn that transmits audio frequencies across 6 spatial dimensions. Many of the functions of SCP-XXXX's various input devices are anomalous. Yet, researchers currently believe they are the product of highly advanced technology preset within the vehicle.
The main function of SCP-XXXX, is it's ability to translocate itself, along with any objects or passengers present, along the 4th, 5th, and 6th spatial dimensions. It has been found to be equipped with mapping and scanning technology to allow more intuitive navigation of these higher dimensions. Exploration using SCP-XXXX has proven that parallel universes are accessible by traversing those dimensions. Each extra dimension of space has been vaguely correlated to a different "function" or warping of the parallel universes compared to ours.
- The 4th dimension strongly correlates to "time", or rather, to completely separate universes that either started earlier, in one direction, or started later, in the other direction. This had lead to a form of paradox free time travel, and also the delight of many researchers.
- The 5th dimension is more vague, but still follows a pattern. Universes along this dimension are variations of our own, and these variations tend to be somewhat minute. IE: 3.3 meters is the positive direction, a universe almost identical to our own has been discovered, except for the fact that all non-anomalous humans have an ape-like tail.
- The 6th dimension is the most vague, and no patterns have been found. IE: 1.72 meters in the negative direction, no humanoid life has been detected.
A way to visualize this, is to imagine these three higher dimensions as a three dimensional space. In which every point in that hyperspace represents an entire parallel universe. This has uncountable implications, and has rocked the foundation's very understanding of the universe to its core.
The previous three attempts to decipher SCP-XXXX's wiring have ultimately resulted in the complete loss of sanity in the researchers involved. It is unknown whether this is an anomalous property of SCP-XXXX, or simply a lack of mental fortitude on the part of those researchers. Additional attempts to understand the wiring are ongoing, now with higher memetic shielding and counseling for the researchers.
