Special Containment Procedures: Sampson Cardboard and Paper, a Foundation shell company, will purchase land around SCP-XXXX and put up fencing for a "development project." SCP-XXXX itself will be blocked off and at least eight (8) foundation security staff will secure the entire area.

Double security on the spring equinox from 00:00 until 06:00. Conduct regular security sweeps in pairs on the spring equinox from 00:00 until 01:55, as well as from 4:05 until 06:00. Detain all persons found within the security perimeter at this time and test for SCP-XXXX-a.

Monitor population of ████████, ██ for additional instances of SCP-XXXX-a. Detained instances of SCP-XXXX-a are to be kept in humanoid cells at site-17. Temperatures of cells are not to exceed 21° C, and may be decreased to as low as 10° C on request. Decreasing temperature below this point is unnecessary, and may only be done on a case by case basis. Physical contact between SCP-XXXX-a instances and fire are no longer authorized.

Detained instances of SCP-XXXX-a must be administered class-B amnestics within 48 hours of containment at site-17, and be administered additional class-B amnestics if they begin manifesting SCP-XXXX-b.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a portion of ███ █████ State Trail in ████████, ██ that runs along a stream. This trail is frequently used by residents of ████████, ██ for recreation, but is not a regular route of transportation throughout the city.

Every spring equinox between 02:00 and 04:00, intangible glowing lights will appear and move along SCP-XXXX. There is no discernible pattern to this movement. The light is formless to the naked eye, but correcting the lighting on digital photos shows that the lights have humanoid forms 10-12cm tall and insect wings with a wingspan of 8cm. Subjects who view SCP-XXXX are compelled not to remark on these events to anyone. All subjects will forget SCP-XXXX within 24 hours. The mental compulsion can be broken through severe threats of physical force or basic truth serums, but this does not negate the antimemetic effects of SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX was initially discovered by four (4) members a running club from nearby ████████ State University, when one member of the group posted a photo of SCP-XXXX on the social network site ██████. Foundation web crawlersdetected this photo as containing anomalous activity during standard sweeps. All members of this group except for SCP-████ expressed no recollection of SCP-XXXX at the time of interview. SCP-████ and the other members of the running club were administered class-B amnestics following their interviews. Foundation agents had detected no anomalous properties in SCP-████ at the time of the interview. SCP-████ was later detained in order to determine why the antimemetic properties of SCP-XXXX did not affect it. SCP-████'s anomalous properties were discovered shortly thereafter.

Addendum XXXX-a: In 7 (0.6%) cases where a human is exposed to SCP-XXXX, a Síofra event occurs. The subject then becomes an instance of SCP-XXXX-a. All humans were between 17-19 years of age and have never practiced an Abrahamic faith. Only 2 instances of SCP-XXXX-a are female, with the majority being male. Instances of SCP-XXXX-a display at least 2 symptoms described in Document XXXX-2.

a) 6 out of 7 instances (Excluding: 5) display an increased appetite, consuming approximately 70-90% more calories than a diet for their age and build. Weight gain does not reflect caloric intake.

b) 2 out of 7 instances (Including: 2, 4) expressed an increased appreciation for music and the arts. Prior to exposure to SCP-XXXX, 6 of the instances (Excluding: 2) were involved with music and the arts either through school, work, or as a hobby.

c) All instances develop severe pyrophobia. Exposure to fire or abnormal heat will cause distress in SCP-XXXX-a even when the source of the fire is removed. 6 instances (Excluding SCP-XXXX-2) express distress by [DATA EXPUNGED]. The longest recorded period of distress was 3 hours and 27 minutes, before SCP-XXXX-4 collapsed from exhaustion. SCP-XXXX-2 expresses distress non-anomalously.

d) 3 out of 7 instances (Including: 2, 3, 7) developed a chronic illness. This illness is expressed through loss of up to 15% of weight, pallid skin, and bouts of emotional volatility. Increasing caloric intake to 250% of normal human intake for their age and build mitigated most of these issues, and restored the instances to their previous weight.

e) SCP-XXXX-6 displays knowledge of SCP-3018, despite never coming in contact with SCP-3018. SCP-XXXX-6 expresses ignorance as to why it is familiar with Alban-B or able to provide directions to the shrine in SCP-3018 previously discovered by Foundation personnel.

Addendum XXXX-b: In 23 (1.█%) to ██ cases where a human is exposed to SCP-XXXX, a Síofra event has occurred. This creates a SCP-XXXX-a instance. SCP-XXXX-a are identical in appearance to subject, and retain all memories of the subject. The majority of the subject's personality is identical to the behaviors of SCP-XXXX-a. All subjects exposed were between 17-21 years of age, have never been baptized, and had recently left their parents’ home. They had all previously expressed intentions of never returning home. There is a statistically insignificant distribution between male and female subjects.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-b are the easiest way to SCP-XXXX-a. Instances of SCP-XXXX-b are facsimiles of SCP-XXXX-a, being identical in appearance to SCP-XXXX-a. It retains the same personality as the subject who was originally exposed to SCP-XXXX and created the particular SCP-XXXX-a instance. However, SCP-XXXX-b has only a few of the subject's memories, and none of SCP-XXXX-a's memories.

SCP-XXXX-b will manifest sporadically within approximately a 2km radius of SCP-XXXX-a, manifesting at places that SCP-XXXX-a frequents as possible. SCP-XXXX-b will never manifest within line of sight of SCP-XXXX-a. If left undisturbed, SCP-XXXX-a and SCP-XXXX-b will never come into contact. Forcing SCP-XXXX-a and SCP-XXXX-b to come into contact will cause SCP-XXXX-b to demanifest. SCP-XXXX-b will demanifest within an hour. Administering class-B amnestics to SCP-XXXX-a eliminates this ability for approximately 5-90 days. SCP-XXXX-a is unaware of SCP-XXXX-b.

This document is to be updated with any new anomalous symptoms displayed by any of the instances, or personality shifts displayed by at least 3 instances.

a) 19 out of 23 instances (Excluding: 02, 05, 16) display an increased appetite, consuming approximately 70-90% more calories than a diet for their age and build. Weight gain does not reflect caloric intake. SCP-XXXX-02 previously displayed an increased appetite, but currently has a severely decreased appetite. It is unclear whether this is due to anomalous properties or stress from [DATA EXPUNGED] (Refer to Event Log XXXX-14).

b) 6 out of 23 instances (Including: 02, 04, 12, 13, 22, 23) expressed an increased appreciation for music and the arts. Prior to exposure to SCP-XXXX, 20 of the instances (Excluding: 02, 17, 18) were involved with music and the arts in some form.

c) All instances display severe pyrophobia. Exposure to fire or abnormal heat will cause distress in SCP-XXXX-a even when the source of the fire is removed. Distress can be caused through visual contact with fire in SCP-XXXX-02 due to emotional trauma (Refer to Event Log XXXX-14), and continued testing with SCP-XXXX-02 is not recommended. This distress is expressed by [DATA EXPUNGED], excluding SCP-XXXX-02. The longest recorded period of distress following removal of the source of fire was 7 hours and 19 minutes, before SCP-XXXX-22 expired.

d) 21 out of 23 instances (Excluding: 01, 22) developed a chronic illness. This illness is expressed through loss of up to 40% of weight, pallid skin, and bouts of emotional volatility. Increasing caloric intake to 250% of normal human intake for their age and build mitigated most of these issues, and restored the instances to 80-95% of their previous weight.

e) 4 out of 23 instances (Including: 08, 11, 18, ██) display knowledge of SCP-3018, despite never coming in contact with SCP-3018. 3 instances (08, 11, 18) express ignorance of how they came to receive this knowledge. SCP-XXXX-██ claims to have been involved in some way with Alban events 3000 years ago. An additional 9 instances are able to answer questions in regards to Alban events when the interviewer remains unclear as to the purpose of questioning. It is possible that all 23 instances would be able to provide information on SCP-3018 if properly prompted. However, none of the instances have been able to provide knowledge not already known by the Foundation, and some information provided by SCP-XXXX-a instances is incorrect.

f) 2 out of 23 instances (Including: 02, 08) display knowledge of SCP-2608, and are able to answer basic questions about the breeding habits and life cycle of SCP-2608, as well as its anomalous properties. SCP-XXXX-02 is an etymology student. It knows all public information relating to SCP-2608, but is only able to provide basic information on its anomalous properties. SCP-XXXX-02 is unsure where it received this knowledge. SCP-XXXX-02 does not display knowledge of SCP-3018. SCP-XXXX-08 expresses complete ignorance of where it received this knowledge.

g) SCP-XXXX-14 expresses interest in visiting SCP-2952. It is unwilling to elaborate on the properties of SCP-277 without coercion, but has later stated that it is 'unaffiliated' with instances of SCP-2952-2.

h) 18 out of 23 instances (Excluding: 02, 06, 13, 18, ██) are able to manifest SCP-XXXX-b. This can be neutralized with the use of class-B amnestics. Anomalous return of memory coincides with the return of the ability to manifest SCP-XXXX-b.

Foreword: Following the expiration of SCP-XXXX-22, the difficulty of eliciting information from SCP-XXXX-a instances has compounded. This is both due to the necessary administration of class-B amnestics to instances manifesting SCP-XXXX-b and hostility from instances who have not received amnestics. It is unclear how these instances are aware of the details of SCP-XXXX-22's expiry. The majority of information received from SCP-XXXX-██ is unreliable.

SCP-XXXX-██: I don't know, I guess it was more of a calling. Going to ████████ State just felt right at the time. I can't really speak for the others, waking up wasn't really part of- part of the bargain.

Dr. LeCrouse: And where are the rest of you? The ones we haven't found?

SCP-XXXX-██: That's not really my secret to tell.

Closing Statement: None of the information provided by SCP-XXXX-██ has been corroborated either by other SCP-XXXX-a instances or through studying SCP-XXXX. Most notably, none of the other SCP-XXXX-a instances describe any sort of 'calling' to find SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-██'s cooperation with Foundation personnel has not been mentioned to other instances of SCP-XXXX-a. It is unclear how SCP-XXXX-██ knew that LeCrose was a pseudonym for ██████.
