Item #: SCP- 2921
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2921 is to be kept with a standard containment cell, with level 3 access minimum. At the case of a breach, follow standard containment procedures.
Description: SCP-2921 is a medium sized pill bottle, of unknown origin with no markings on said bottle containing exactly 48 pills of no unique marking or makeup that would allow tracking. Upon ingesting any amount of SCP-2921’s contents, spiders will materialize on the consumer’s body of varying size, habitat of origin and level of aggression. Spiders will appear at random times during the day, and will generally attempt to bite, claw or otherwise startle and harm the victim.
Recovery Log: Recovered July 26, 1998. Task force “Card Sharks” were sent in upon picking up wind of a man claiming to cure people’s fears with “magic medicine”. Even though it was originally ignored as snake oil, a “voodoo god” was repeatedly being tied to the murders and/or personal distress and public disorder across the area. The extraction team was met with critical failure as the target had somehow predicted the task force, burning his house down all but part of SCP-2921. There was in close proximity, however, a note reading “cure for fear of spiders” to the object.
REDACTED: Spiders appear in amount, size and aggression compared to the level of fear the victim has of spiders. This was confirmed by Doctor Malloy, after testing on D-Class personnel. The more terrified of spiders, the more, the size, the aggression, amount, consistency of appearing (up to twice a day), species, and possibly proximity to the face the spider becomes.
