Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is impossible to fully contain, however it's usage can be heavily supressed. Foundation web crawlers are to scan all posts to websites with 100 or more monthly users to supress widespread usage of SCP-XXXX. Foundation personnel are to be placed in every film production company, tv broadcast company and book publishing company to supress the widespread usage of SCP-XXXX. All foundation records are to be scanned for usage of SCP-XXXX as incident XXXX-X has revealed the possibility that foundation personnel may be utilising SCP-XXXX to gain power in the foundation. Only select personnel are to know exactly what SCP-XXXX is for the purposes of identifying and censoring it. These personnel are to be selected by level 4 or higher staff who can't identify SCP-XXXX. Selected personnel are to be fitted with neural implants that render them incapable of speaking or writing SCP-XXXX. A single sample of SCP-XXXX is to be held in a safe at site 01. The safe is to be guarded by at least two armed guards. Only personnel selected to know exactly what SCP-XXXX may have access to the safe. All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be destroyed. Any individual who has used SCP-XXXX is to be detained, questioned, fitted with neural implants preventing them from utilising SCP-XXXX and amnesticized.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a memetic hazard in the form of a spoken or written phrase. Anything that serves as a means of utilising SCP-XXXX, such as a video recording or a written piece of text containing it, are herby referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties are present regardless of the language it is printed or spoken in. The only exception being when it is encoded via means such as the Caesar cipher or binary code. However, if it is decoded its anomalous properties will function normally. Noteworthy instances of SCP-XXXX-1 can be found in the incident log. When a sapient entity capable of understanding the language SCP-XXXX is printed or spoken in hears or reads it, they are then compelled to agree with and believe anything printed on the same page or spoken by the same person. SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects do not manifest if the reader or listener is already aware of the exact phrase of SCP-XXXX or if they are predisposed to the statements following SCP-XXXX being false. Prior to containment, SCP-XXXX is believed to have been used to spread misinformation, both intentionally and unintentionally.
Discovery: The foundation became aware of SCP-XXXX during a televised speech on July 18th 20⬛⬛ by ⬛⬛⬛⬛, a political candidate who was running as a US presidential candidate. Dr. Mary Clarke was watching the speech alone in the site 19 break room when the signal to the tv was interrupted due to the site having a faulty tv satellite dish at the time. During the portion of the speech missed during the interruption, ⬛⬛⬛⬛ spoke SCP-XXXX. He them proceeded to make several nonsensical statements, such as "Every other candidate has stated they will raise taxes, I pledge to lower them." and "I will ensure that the chemicals making people gay that are being put in tap water are eliminated." Dr. Mary Clarke later decided to read a transcription of the speech to see what she missed during the signal interruption. She realised that all she had missed was ⬛⬛⬛⬛'s campaign slogan. She then decided to read transcriptions of other speeches made by ⬛⬛⬛⬛ intentionally skipping the portions of the speech where he used his campaign slogan. This led to Dr. Mary Clarke discovering the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX. This event is now known as incident XXXX-1, the further details of which can be found in incident log XXXX-1.
