The Mellow Man SCP-XXXX

Special Containment Procedures:
[SCP-XXX is to be kept gagged and restrained in a soundproofed cell. Four security cameras are to be trained on it at all times and any attempt by it to remove his gag is to be met with an immediate shock to the lower spine. Due to SCP-XXXX's heightened charismatic skills there is to be no communication with it, and in the cases one does make contact with SCP-XXXX they are to be taken for immediate Psychiatric Evaluation. If any personnel have an unrecorded conversation with SCP-XXXX they are to be terminated Immediately. One armed facility guard is to be stationed outside of his chamber at all times. The guard is to wear earplugs and be in possession of a dead man's switch that will lock down the cell if it is killed. This is for SCP-XXXX’s safety. There is to be old radio station music on play quietly in the background to ensure it remains in a suitable condition for questioning. ]

Description:
[SCP-XXXX has a the appearance of a white human male, however it lacks any bodily hair and its skin is free of any imperfections or blemishes - it all being the exact same colour. Any clothes it wears will also take on this effect - as all blemishes or discoloration vanishes. It has grey eyes when at rest however it has been recorded that when speaking to an individual its eyes will appear to be identical to theirs. Its preferred clothing is that which comprises of a suit and top hat, however they do not need to fit it as after a few days of wearing any clothes they will have shifted to be akin to its bodily shape.

Any individuals that enter any form of conversation with SCP-XXXX will find they they enter a trance like state in which they will find themselves doing whatever is asked of them by SCP-XXXX. This effect can last for up to 24 hours after initial exposure where in that period they will have little higher cognitive function. In addition any in the presence of it will be unable to bring themselves to bring harm to it. Please note he does not need to speak to them for this effect - he simply needs to be visible to them.

SCP-XXXX does not seem to need any form of regular sustenance to survive. However it has been noted that the longer he goes without listening to anyone talk the paler his skin gets and the weaker he becomes. Please note that after significant research we can semi reliably state that every time he rehears the same phrase (for example if you were to replay a conversation to him repeatedly) he gets less “nutrition” from the words.

Addendum:
[During his time in foundation custody SCP-XXXX has attempted to escape many times. This is why it has had most basic privileges removed and is now constantly gagged. In addition many times before there have been attempts to kidnap him from our “care” to have him used as a political weapon. Although none of these attempts have been successful they have caused SCP-XXXX considerable distress and in response to this we have stationed a guard outside his cell.

Known Escape Attempts

In an Incident █ weeks after its initial internment at [REDACTED] SCP-XXXX tried to escape from the premises. He had previously managed to convince the staff at facility [REDACTED] to give him a luxury room to stay in by saying that it was needed “to keep me in a state for suitable questioning”. However when guard █ unlocked its door to take it to questioning SCP-XXXX instead used his abilities to make the guard escort him out to his freedom. The foundation staff were helpless against his abilities due to a lack of ear protection and in the end he was stopped by the facility snipers - after the demise of guard █.

On the date █/█/█ an attempt was made by the Chaos Insurgency to kidnap SCP-XXXX from foundation custody. Two insurgency soldiers had disguised themselves as facility guard and unlocked its cell. However before they had left the Light Containment unit he was currently residing in one of them was shot dead. The other one was found crying in a corner when facility guards went to investigate. It was later revealed that there had been a firefight between the two intruders.

During a containment breach at [REDACTED] SCP-XXXX managed to escape from his cell and made its way to the Comms area. From there it tried to broadcast a message to all of the facility staff encouraging them to join each other in a mass suicide. Before he finished a squadron of guards arrived and promptly chained him up. It was later reported that the Sergeant cut out SCP-XXXX's tongue. Later during the same breach security footage picked up a recording of SCP-XXXX encountering a scientist who was hiding from the breach, and promptly bash their skull in against the wall. Then it wrenched their tongue from their body and used it to replace its lost one before returning to its cell. Approximately 6 days after this incident it became impossible to identify where his tongue was removed.

As a result of its actions it has been punished accordingly.

SCP-XXXX: [The exact details are fuzzy to me, I am afraid I do not remember it very well.]

SCP-XXXX: [I think I was in my home… It was a small, dingy place - Much worse than any of the cells here for sure. And for the date. I do not believe I knew the exact date even at the time I was created - as I had bigger things on my mind. But, I do believe it was sometime in what you call the “Victorian Era”]

SCP-XXXX: [Unfortunately I do not.]

SCP-XXXX: [I cast away my old name awhile ago, nowadays I go by the name of The Mellow Man.]

Closing Statement: [After the interview SCP-XXXX has been returned to its cell, escorted by two armed guards. The interviewer was sent to the medical ward for psychiatric analysis in accordance to procedure.

There was an ancient tribe that lived in [REDACTED]. They were constantly skirmishing with other tribes. One winter was especially harsh and there was very little food to go around. So the tribes went to war to try to secure what food remained. One tribe selected a warrior to go to ancient cult in middle of forest to make a deal with the devil for the power to defend his village. So he went off, made the deal and later returned - stronger than before. He had the strength of a dozen men and could shrug off heavy blows with ease. He was celebrated as the hero of the village and given as much food as he wanted. But his hunger raged ever more. So one day when a rival tribe raided the village he charged into battle and tore apart the tribe, before settling down to eat them. His tribe was horrified by this but they let him stay in the tribe. Although he had committed one of their worst Taboos he had saved the village (And they now feared him). As the winter raged on he started to demand more food. But the village could not provide for his demands. So he tore apart the messenger and ate him. From that day onwards he ruled the village with his might and their fear. Eventually he started to demand sacrifices to his hunger and although the tribe tried to refuse him eventually they had no choice but to agree. And as he ate more of his kin he started to transform. His limbs began to elongate and his flesh started to pale. However one night when he demanded the Chief’s daughter to feast upon the village had enough. They fought back and with the assistance of the other tribes they drove him deep into the forest. For decades he stalked the forest, feasting on those who had the misfortune of wandering into his domain - and as he did so he became more beastial in nature.

SCP-XXXX-1 = Human with increased physical capabilities. They will be filled with a deep hunger (They need around 5200 Cal a day) and will feel no qualms about eating human flesh, as their hunger will make all food seem like a feast.
SCP-XXXX-2 = Someone who has started to mass cannibalize. It does not need to be an SCP-XXXX-1 to become this but it often makes life easier. (You don't need to kill the people you eat but it speeds the transformation along quicker if you are the person who killed your meals). This also increases your lifespan and makes your skin become gaunt and your limbs elongate (Only slight changes).
SCP-XXXX-3 = Someone who has feasted on his kin for many decades. Deformations are very profound and subjects mind has begun to fracture. In this point they are considered a Wendigo and will be referred to as one.
SCP-XXXX-4 = On a december new moon a wendigo can devour a live virgin maiden to undergo a process known as SCP-XXXX-4. This will give the wendigo new powers and change their form. Their skin with tighten around their faces and matted, rough hair will start to grow on their body. The changes are very small so it would take many decades of doing this before there is a profound change. A wendigo going through this is SCP-XXXX-5.
SCP-XXXX-5 = A wendigo going through SCP-XXXX-4. Please note very few wendigo are known to be in this stage.
SCP-XXXX-6 = A wendigo that has gone through all the stages of SCP-XXXX-4 and has reached their full potential. They often look different to normal wendigo. With some being multiple times larger whilst others have been said to have a body coated in fur with a skull for its head. These wendigos also have the power to infect others with a desire for cannibalism. Other examples of their powers include the secretion of toxic gasses and in one case even resurrection.
SCP-XXXX-7 = The name given to any forests (Or rarely other locations) Where a Wendigo is residing. This is also used to identify any Northern Pine Forests or forests with SCP-XXXX-8 In.
SCP-XXXX-8 = Any Cults that revolve around wendigo worship or that attempt to become a wendigo.

SCP-XXXX The Rituals

SCP-XXXX-A The Ritual of Might (Makes SCP-XXXX-1)

On the floor a pentagram must be drawn in animal blood. There must be no circle surrounding it. If there is one then the subject will never be able to leave once the ritual is done.
At each of the points a receptacle filled with human blood must be placed. Ideally it would be some form of cup or chalice.
At every point where the lines of the pentagram cross a stick of incense made from the resin Dragons Blood must be placed.
In the middle of the Pentagram must lie a pile of animal entrails. They must come from at least 3 different species of animal.
On top of the entrails must lie an athame blade.
One the night of a full moon the subject must light all of the incense and step into the middle of the pentagram. If they leave during the ritual it will fail.
Then they need to pick up the athame and slit their wrists, allowing their blood to fall into the guts.
Then they must go to each of the receptacles and for the first four they must let their blood fall into it, then drink it.
For the final one they must pour it over their head and into their eyes, but they may not let any of their blood contaminate it.
The subject will find a deep hunger fills them and then they must devour all of the entrails in the middle. Then the incense will extinguish.
If it was done right they will become an SCP-XXXX-1.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a Standardised Humanoid Containment Cell (SHCC). Every day at 13:00 It is to be allowed a short meeting with a Foundation issued Catholic Priest. SCP-XXXX is not allowed to be escorted in close proximity to any other Anomalies without prior clearance.

Description: [SCP-XXXX is a man of South African descent. He was first admitted into foundation custody at the age of 9 and has not left custody unsupervised since. Any anomalous objects or beings within an Unknown radius of SCP-XXXX are at risk of their anomalous properties being negated. This is known as the SCP-XXXX-1 Effect. Although there is no way of knowing at what radius around SCP-XXXX the SCP-XXXX-1 effect will trigger for an Anomaly, data reports indicate that the more powerful the effect of an anomaly is the closer in proximity it needs to be to SCP-XXXX for it to be affected - with physical contact being needed to effect extremely powerful anomalies.

SCP-XXXX also possesses a second anomalous property. If it comes into contact with a living organism it can secrete a clear toxin called SCP-XXXX-2 from its palms that allow it to edit or destroy the memories of the target. If a large volume of SCP-XXXX-2 is secreted it can also create entirely fake memories. This is called SCP-XXXX-3. However the secretion of SCP-XXXX-2 causes considerable mental and physical damage to SCP-XXXX so testing of SCP-XXXX-3 has been forbidden by order of the ethics committee.

During its entire time in foundation Internment SCP-XXXX has shown no signs of disobedience or displayed signs of anger. As a result of this SCP-XXXX has been utilized to help contain anomalies as it has only ever shown interest in working with the foundation. In addition to this it has been given $50 USD of luxuries it can ask for every week. This is almost always spent on religious texts or items.]

Addendum: [The legal name of SCP-XXXX is [REDACTED] and he was born in the small village of ████████████ in Haiti. He was taken into custody after the local police reported that multiple people had been experiencing memory loss and amnesia.]

Special Containment Procedures: [Once any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are detected multiple foundation personal are to be dispatched to the settlement in question (now to be referred to as SCP-XXXX-2). From there all instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be removed from wherever they have appeared within SCP-XXXX-2. This is to be done as efficiently as possible. Once all instances are removed from SCP-XXXX-2 the majority of the personal are to be dismissed from SCP-XXXX-2. The few that remain will continue to comb SCP-XXXX-2 in case any more instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to appear.

In addition as soon as an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is reported foundation personnel are to tap the listed number (now to be referred to as SCP-XXXX-3) as quickly as time permits. From there they are to attempt to disconnect any calls made to SCP-XXXX-3. Failing this attempts must be made to trace the number of said caller and administer class B amnesics before the occurrence of SCP-XXXX-5.

Any individuals caught distributing instances of SCP-XXXX-1 or promoting its use are to be arrested and detained as D-Class personal for future testing. ]

Description: [SCP-XXXX is an occurrence of posters advertising a Suicide Hotline. Every few years overnight in a random settlement (which henceforth is known as SCP-XXXX-2) occurrences of the poster (SCP-XXXX-1) will appear throughout the city. They appear in all variety of places - the most common ones being on telephone posts and notice boards. Any attempts to call the listed number will be answered by a voice resembling that of an answering machine. Although the exact dialogue varies every time it will always ask the Caller (now to be referred to as SCP-XXXX-4) how they are considering to commit suicide. If SCP-XXXX-4 then responds with an answer to the question - stating how they are considering to commit suicide then SCP-XXXX-5 will start. If they reply that they do not want to commit suicide then the call will end.

SCP-XXXX-5 instances have on average a 92% fatality rate. Use of force is authorised to try and prevent the end of SCP-XXXX-5 taking place.

SCP-XXXX-5 is an instance where an SCP-XXXX-4 attempts to commit suicide. This happens around 24 hours after the start of SCP-XXXX-5 and during the wait period the subject will suffer from extreme depression and anxiety. In addition it has been has noted that SCP-XXXX-4 will not make any attempt to sleep in this period. After the 18th hour of SCP-XXXX-5 the subject will start to make preparations for their suicide of choice. This can range from the finding of a suitable location to buying rope to make a noose. The method of suicide chosen will always be that of which they answered the call with.

For example if a D-Class was to say to SCP-XXXX-3 that he wanted to slit his wrists to end his suffering, his preparations would involve finding a knife and bathtub.

If SCP-XXXX-4 is prevented from their suicide in any way then after a time period of 36 hours has passed after the start of SCP-XXXX-5 the subject will revert to normal. In accordance to foundation policy if possible mild amnesics will be administered to the subject.

In over 76% of occurrences of SCP-XXXX there has been a significant Discordant presence. The majority of the time they are found distributing instances of SCP-XXXX-1, although sometimes they vary from this. If a Discordant is found distributing SCP-XXXX then they are to be terminated at the soonest opportunity.

It has been speculated that somehow they are aware of where most instances of SCP-XXXX are located before the foundation does. Their current means of doing so is unknown.

As the design on SCP-XXXX-1 changes with each occurrence no up to date picture can be provided, and any attempt to digitally scan one in has failed.]
