Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is kept in a secure locker for anomalous texts at Site-XX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an encyclopedia of Earths natural history made for children. The front cover depicts a collage of dinosaurs in striking or fearsome poses with a title that reads, "Encyclopedia Prehistoria", there is no mention of the author or publication anywhere in SCP-XXXX. When any living human opens SCP-XXXX text and illustrations on SCP-XXXXs pages will animate and alter the content depending on the readers actions. Notably, SCP-XXXX does not use standard numbered pages instead displaying approximately how many millions or billions of years ago the topic of that page was.

When opened from the first page SCP-XXXX will depict a pre-life Earth presented to be 4.6 billion years ago with blocks of scrolling text detailing the surface conditions of Earth at this time then briefly exploring tectonic activity and the first appearance of water. Notably, text blocks seem to react to whatever information most draws in the reader, text not currently being read is rewritten to further elaborate on the selected the topic. Flipping through pages one at a time will yield more information of a pre-life Earth with additional details on the formation of water. Skipping past a large number of pages or opening SCP-XXXX somewhere in the middle will open to a point in prehistory roughly corresponding to a pages position in SCP-XXXX, i.e., opening SCP-XXXX closer to the back cover brings SCP-XXXXs content closer to modern day.
