Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4000 is to be stored on a secured pedestal in a 6 ft x 6 ft storage locker located at Area 14. The locker is to remained sealed when not in use via magnetic locked door. A guard is to be posted outside at all times to prevent unauthorized acess to SCP-4000. Due to reletivly low threat level of SCP-4000 guards will only need to be armed with a stun baton. SCP-4000 is only to be accessed by security level 2 personnel and any transferrs of SCP-4000 are to be authorized only by security level 4 personnel or higher. Testing may be done with SCP-4000 by any personnel designated by someone of security level 2 or higher.

Description: SCP-4000 appears to be an ancient arabian oil lamp in design, measuring 3 inches tall 5 inches in length and 2 inches in width. SCP-4000 is made of a gold alloy and weighs about 6.4 ounces. Upon having physical contact an entity labeled as SCP-4000-1 will appear to come out from the lamps spout. SCP-4000-1 can be discribed to be an alien entity of unknown origins with and elongated skull cranium, light blue skin, yellow eyes which appear to have no pupils. SCP-4000-1 has no mouth or nose and has a slender body build with a serpent-like tail instead of legs. SCP-4000-1 appears to only be able to communicate telepathically to the person useing SCP-4000. People Using SCP-4000 are given 3 "wishes" from SCP-4000-1. When something is wished for SCP-4000-1 will grant it using a currently unknown method.

Addendum 4000-A: Following is a record of tests done with SCP-4000.

Test 1: 3/3/1997 D Class personnel D-3507 asks SCP-4000-1 for a Rolex watch.

Results: SCP-4000-1 makes a Rolex watch appear on D-3507's wrist. Watch was later confiscated for "examination."

Test 2: 4/17/1997 D-3507 asks SCP-4000-1 for a radio.

Results: A hand radio appears on the table in the room.

Test 3: 5/1/1997 D-3507 asks SCP-4000-1 to be free.

Result: D-3507 disappears from the room. Tactical strike team was sent to recover D-3507. D-3507's location remains unknown to this day. See Addendum 4000-B for updates to testing procedures.

Test 4: 1/4/1998 Dr. Wycoff asks SCP-4000-1 to destroy SCP-682.

Results: SCP-4000-1 is unsuccessful and is significantly injured in the process. SCP-4000-1 returns into SCP-4000.

Test 5: 1/7/1998 SCP-4000-1 does not appear.

Test 6: 1/8/1998 Nothing happens.

Test 7: 1/9/1998 Nothing happens.

Test 8: 2/27/1998 SCP-4000-1 appears. It seemed upset at us. Refused to fufill any request.

Results: Confirmed that SCP-4000-1 still exsists.

Test 9: 5/30/2004 Dr. Murray asks SCP-4000 to tell him everything.

Results: Dr. Murray dies of unknown causes. O-5 orders that further testing of SCP-4000 and SCP-4000-1 be suspended until further notice.

Addendum 4000-B: Due to an incident where a D Class personnel member escaped using SCP-4000 further testing of SCP-4000 are not to involve D Class personnel.
