Welcome, Dr. Fitzgerald.
DOCUMENT REVISED ON 04/29/2018
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: Operation: STORM Valhalla is a multiobjective misinformation and espionage operation conducted by MTF Λ-23 (“Golden Wind”) with the purposes of keeping the true identity of SCP-XXXX secret, as well as recovering the missing Site 61 staff, believed to be in Chaos Insurgency custody. This misinformation is to be aided by the creation of a decoy SCP-XXXX file, with no security restrictions. This file is to explain the disappearances, as well as create a false description of Operation: STORM Valhalla.
An area of 25 km2 surrounding SCP-XXXX is to be restricted under the guise of radiation contamination from nuclear testing. Only personnel with STORM Valhalla Operational Clearance, as well as personnel tasked with delivering SCP-XXXX's output to Site 19, are to be allowed access to the restricted zone.
Scranton Reality Anchors are to be placed around the border of SCP-XXXX with a spacing of 150 meters between them. MTF Λ-23 is to be stationed in SCP-XXXX, and members will be required to exit the grounds for a period of 5 minutes at minimum, daily. Following Incident XXXX-A, research and investigation into either the origins or function of SCP-XXXX, as well as the materials and machinery contained therein, is restricted.
Due to the high level of secrecy surrounding SCP-XXXX, any and all proposals, requests, and queries involving SCP-XXXX must be brought before the 05 Council for approval or disapproval.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an abandoned gold mine and surrounding facilities spanning 7.2 km2 in Northern Nevada, that was used as an outpost for the Chaos Insurgency for an unknown period of time in the late 20th century. Records left by the Insurgency suggest that SCP-XXXX was abandoned on 11/09/1974 at the earliest, but it is impossible to determine when the Insurgency first occupied the facilities. Evidence suggests that SCP-XXXX was abandoned quickly, with little regard to the security of the sensitive records and anomalous items contained within.
SCP-XXXX has several extradimensional properties, however evidence suggests that one or more of these properties manifested as a direct result of research performed by the Chaos Insurgency. Thus, it is as of yet undetermined which, if any, of SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties were present before Chaos Insurgency interference.
For example, the flow of time within the premises of SCP-XXXX is erratic and varies in speed. Preliminary tests have shown that the flow of time can be anywhere between 8 times slower than normal and 4 times faster than normal. However, this effect is completely localized to the grounds of SCP-XXXX. When a subject enters and while they are within the grounds, time will appear to flow as normal. Upon attempting to exit, the difference will be forcibly corrected, described by subjects as time appearing to "jump" back to normal. This effect often leads to a feeling of “jet lag” in subjects leaving the grounds. Subjects may also experience rapid aging or de-aging if time within SCP-XXXX has become significantly disjointed.
Any communication of the current time within SCP-XXXX is also affected. Subjects will internally perceive any mention of time as aligning to what they believe the current time is. For example, if two subjects enter SCP-XXXX at separate times such that one believes the current time to two days ahead of the other subject's perception, any communication of the current time by the second subject will be perceived as matching this belief. This effect manifests in written communication of the time, such as clocks or memos, as well. This property is one of two of SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects that extends beyond the grounds of the facility. Video and audio surveillance has shown that subjects outside of the premises will perceive mentions of time as matching conditions outside of SCP-XXXX.
Due the time altering effects of SCP-XXXX, all measurements of time listed below are relative to time within the facility.
SCP-XXXX consists of 4 sectors, referred to as SCP-XXXX-A through SCP-XXXX-D.
SCP-XXXX-A consists of a dilapidated three floor residential building and dormitory near the entrance of the grounds. No known anomalies, save for those present across the entire facility, manifest in SCP-XXXX-A. On the ground floor is a freight lift that travels between SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B.
SCP-XXXX-B consists of an underground laboratory and low-security containment facility. At inconsistent intervals, usually between 1 and 2 hours, the doorways within SCP-XXXX-B will shift, and the rooms they connect to will change. Sonic surveys of the structure of SCP-XXXX-B show that the physical layout of the building does not change, suggesting that this anomalous property lies in the doorways rather than the rooms. Above every doorway, there are signs bearing the insignia of the Chaos Insurgency, and comprised of cold cathode displays which state the room the doorway currently leads to. These signs update after transition, but there is a delay of up to 30 seconds between a transition and the display update.
As a result of the rushed exodus, many anomalous artifacts have been left within the facilities, as of yet undocumented as official SCP objects. For a full list of items recovered, see STORM Valhalla Document 1.2 below.
SCP-XXXX-C is comprised of the upper levels of the mine. Exploration of SCP-XXXX-C is made difficult by systems installed by the Chaos Insurgency designed to decontaminate the mine, according to system manuals found within SCP-XXXX-B. Every 3 hours, the entrance to SCP-XXXX-C will be locked, and metal shielding will cover all windows in the observation room for a period of 30 minutes.
Observation of the decontamination process is currently impossible due to other anomalous effects that manifest during this period. The doors and windows will not respond to the controls which normally allow them to be closed and opened quickly. An anomalous electromagnetic pulse emanates from the lower sections of the mine during the process, preventing electronic surveillance, and testing has shown that subjects in the mine during the decontamination process disappear. The disappearance of subjects suggests that the decontamination is biological in nature, but this has not been proven.
Analyses of the mine show that the surrounding rock is in constant flux, with new deposits of resources, typically gold or copper, seemingly materializing in or just under the cavern walls approximately every 2 hours.
Separating SCP-XXXX-C and SCP-XXXX-D is a 0.3m thick blast door measuring 8m by 4m, bearing the insignia of the Chaos Insurgency. This blast door is autonomous; it is unresponsive to any controls found thus far as has been shown to open during the decontamination process. It has also been shown to be significantly sturdy, withstanding several attempts to break it open while showing no damage.
SCP-XXXX-D is the lower section of the mines, shown via sonic survey to extend to a total depth of 4km below the surface. Because of the blast door separating SCP-XXXX-C and SCP-XXXX-D, exploration of, and thus the acquisition of further information about, SCP-XXXX-D is impossible currently.

ACCOUNT OF SCP-XXXX'S DISCOVERY
On 01/21/2018, Foundation agents received information regarding an upcoming Marshall, Carter, and Dark Ltd. sale taking place on 02/01/2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Agents moved to intercept the sale that night and found a representative from Marshall, Carter, and Dark dealing with a group of Chaos Insurgency operatives.
Agents engaged, terminating all Chaos Insurgency operatives. The Marshall, Carter, and Dark representative escaped during the firefight.
Agents investigated the remains of the Chaos Insurgency operatives, finding a large sum of money, presumably payment for the Marshall, Carter, and Dark Ltd. representative, and several documents detailing anomalies. One such document detailed the location of a former Chaos Insurgency outpost, SCP-XXXX.
MTF Λ-17 was sent in on 02/02/2018, and upon securing the premises and discovering the anomalous properties of the facility, called for researchers. Dr. Melody Kneel and 5 Junior Researchers assigned under her were relocated to SCP-XXXX on 02/03/2018.

LIST OF ANOMALOUS OBJECTS RECOVERED FROM SCP-XXXX
- SCP-XXXX-1, a device resembling a digital alarm clock that displays the current time inside of SCP-XXXX alongside the current time in the outside world.
- SCP-XXXX-2, a pocket watch. When SCP-XXXX-2’s face is displayed to a sentient being, and the button on the side is pressed, the subject will become paralyzed for a period of approximately 30 minutes. Testing has shown that this paralysis is due to the flow of time stopping for the subject resulting in a lack of brain signals during this period. This paralysis has no recorded lasting side effects.
- SCP-XXXX-3, an aerosol formula composed of copper and an as of yet unidentified substance believed to be originally synthesized inside of SCP-XXXX. Anomalous properties unknown.
- SCP-XXXX-4, a canister of 206 red pills. When one of these pills is ingested by a sentient being, their perception of time will speed up. More specifically, 1 seconds will feel like two seconds to them, effectively making them able to move, think, and age, twice as fast as a normal being. This effect lasts for approximately 1 day.

ACCOUNT OF INCIDENT XXXX-A
The following is a transcript of the radio transmissions from the team at SCP-XXXX, as well as cameras placed in and around the facility.
[BEGIN LOG]
(At exactly 20:30 on 04/05/2018, approximately 45 minutes after nightfall, cameras set up around the outside of SCP-XXXX-A detect movement. L-2, watching the cameras at the time, reports this to L-Cap.)
L-2: Hey, Cap, this is L-2. I'm reading some movement on the north side of dorms.
L-Cap: Noted. L-1, rendezvous with me at the lift. Let's go check it out.
L-1: Roger that.
(Camera feed shows L-Cap and L-1 meet at the lift connecting SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B. Extraneous logs detailing L-Cap and L-1 traveling to the surface have been removed.)
L-Cap: L-2, where exactly did you read that movement? I'm seeing nothing. L-1?
L-1: Nothing for me, either.
L-2: About 15 meters north of the main entrance. I haven't really caught anything since the initial sighting, though.
L-Cap: Gotcha. I'm moving to check that area. L-1, keep an eye on my 6.
L-1: On it.
