Item #: SCP-4297

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4297 is held within Section D of Site-88 inside of a
5 x 5 x 5 meter containment cell under strict observation and supervision from on-site researchers and security personnel. SCP-4297’s containment cell consists of 20.32 centimeters (8 inches) of high-hardness steel plating and reinforced hardened steel plated concrete with woven iron rebar insulation. SCP-4297 is not to be removed from its containment cell at any time unless approved by Level 4 research or security personnel or any higher ranking individuals, before which SCP-4297 must be heavily sedated into a comatose state via retrofitted sprinkler systems that omit an anesthetic gas. SCP-4297 is to have a specialized electromagnetic restraining collar fastened around its neck at all times unless under specific circumstances such as research and experimentation. Surveillance monitors are to be present, at least 5.4 meters (18 feet) away from SCP-4297's containment cell, and are to be active and monitored at all times. No one is to be within 5.4 meters (18 feet) of SCP-4297's containment cell at any times unless approved by Level 4 research or security personnel.

Description: SCP-4297 is a large humanoid figure, approximately 2.5 meters (8.2 feet) in height, and weighing approximately 102 kilograms (224 pounds), with a general appearance of a large anthropomorphic wolf (Canis Lupus) wielding two large four-toed paws, a long tail, pointed ears on the top of its head, claws, and a muzzle. SCP-4297’s eyes are a deep oceanic blue that lack any observable pupils, irises or sclera. The entity holds extensive amounts of muscle mass beneath its thick layers of jet-black fur, which covers its entire body. The subject also has two layers of unnaturally large canid-like teeth that line both the inside and the outside of its muzzle, similar to a skullmask, of which both pairs of its cuspids, of which are only located on the object's external set of teeth, measure approximately 12.7 centimeters (5 inches) in length. Tests conducted upon attempting to retrieve one of SCP-4297's external teeth for research have resulted in failure, of which after close examination of the maw of the subject while sedated, every internal and external tooth connected to the mandible of the subject's muzzle.

SCP-4297's saliva, collected from the floor of its containment cell after the subject's sedation by on-site researchers. However, after careful biological examination and testing from on-site researchers and biohazard teams, the composition of the saliva's biomatter has been proven to be of a liquidized organic matter of an unknown origin. This organic substance is slightly corrosive to man-made materials, however, once upon contact to other organic matter such as muscle tissue, the substance will immediately begin the process of decomposition of any physiological features that it's been exposed to. This process is treated via immediate removal of affected organic tissue, preventing the substance's ability to spread if left untreated. The only known materials to effectively resist the substance’s corrosive nature at an atomic level, at this point, is high-hardness steel, flint, and granite.

Any electronic equipment exposed within 5.4 meters of SCP-4297, after its restraining collar has been removed, will experience several unusual malfunctions and irreparable technical glitches. Video cameras appear to be the devices that are affected the most, of which once exposed, will experience several severe visual warps, distortions, and glitches, comparable to a two-way video camera losing signal. Audio devices have also been known to experience similar issues, except once exposed, these devices will produce a consistent static white noise and their batteries will all be completely drained. However, despite the devices' batteries being completely drained, they will still proceed to function, however, at a significantly lesser level of quality, even after their batteries have been replaced. This has allowed researchers to intelligently assume that SCP-4297 has the ability to use electromagnetic waves to permanently drain any electronic equipments' batteries and to use their energy for its own use. Researchers and staff have been successful in retrieving the recording equipment from affected camera systems that have been exposed to SCP-4297's electromagnetic waves, allowing them to study the specific effects that the entity has against these types of equipment. Due to this, all motion sensors and security monitors tasked with surveying the interior of SCP-4297's containment cell must be connected to specialized generators that directly tap into the facility's main power generators so that they can successfully stay operational.

Shortly after the removal of SCP-4297's restraining collar, via drones that descend from automated openings in the ceiling of its containment cell, the subject has been known to immediately shroud itself within a thick layer of an unidentified, smoke like substance before retreating to a corner of the room that noticeably contains the least amount of visible light. Researchers have concluded that SCP-4297 uses this special ability to attempt to hide itself from potential threats, observing that the subject is incredibly difficult to detect whilst shrouded in darkness, even with the presence of motion detection camera systems. However, on-site researchers have made the conclusion that SCP-4297 is a nocturnal predator that uses these abilities to hide itself from its prey, allowing it to effectively stalk them and attack undetected. All tests conducted in attempting to retrieve this unidentified substance for proper research and identification have resulted in failure.

Class-D personnel tasked with entering SCP-4297’s containment cell, after the entity's successful sedation and removal process into another, smaller unoccupied cell, occasionally report feeling the prevalent sensations of uneasiness, nausea, and scopaesthesia without the presence of any observable stimuli to inhibit such reactions. However, after several hours after exposure (usually between six to eight hours), these individuals (who will now be referred to as SCP-4297-1 through the amount of individuals exposed at any given time), are occasionally found reporting feeling severe tenderness and discomfort within their jugulars, along with having severe shortness of breath, which is soon followed by sudden, unpredicted paranoid outbursts and panic attacks after several hours of consistent symptoms. Approximately around 16 hours after exposure, the personnel (most often Class-D personnel) that've been exposed to SCP-4297's containment cell are commonly found unresponsive in their dormitory cells, showing signs of severe asphyxiation. It has been noted that several deep bruises are observed upon the jugulars of these deceased individuals, allowing researchers to conclude that the victims were killed from strangulation. This has been concluded as the usual official cause of death within the affected individuals. However, on-site medical staff tasked with tending to the few survivors that've entered into SCP-4297's containment cell for experimentation have noted that the affected individuals most commonly show signs of severe hypovolemic shock and dehydration through significant loss of body fluids.

Researchers and staff have observed that SCP-4297 possesses incredible unnatural intelligence and is capable of speech, being able to speak fluent English in a thick, unknown accent. Though, SCP-4297 is rarely known to communicate without any observable stimuli to inhibit a reaction. Whenever Class-D personnel are positioned inside of SCP-4297’s 5.4 meter (18 feet) red-zone before its sedation, the entity is known to persistently communicate, often manipulatively, trying to convince these personnel to violently release it from captivity by all means that it finds necessary. This prompts immediate psychological evaluation of the affected individual(s). If the affected individual(s), by any means, fail to seek immediate psychological evaluation and are given proper procedures within a five-ten minute timespan, the subject(s) will eventually start undergoing violent, progressively deteriorative changes to their mood and personality, attacking and maiming anyone of whom stands against them and releasing SCP-4297 from captivity. This prompts either immediate termination or sedation of the affected individual(s) for the security of the staff in the facility. This has convinced on-site researchers that SCP-4297 may hold specific psychic telepathic abilities that allow it to get inside of the heads of its victims, being able to control them according to its specific desires and needs of any given situation that it deems necessary.

Though SCP-4297 noticeably shows an indifference towards most facility staff, the subject, once exposed to the presence of any Class-D personnel or any other individual with any severe past criminal activity, will attempt to kill these individuals. Such incidents have been reported upon any Class-D personnel's immediate entry into SCP-4297's containment cell before its sedation and relocation into another unoccupied cell. This has also been reported within criminals who weren't Class-D personnel, allowing researchers to conclude that SCP-4297 may have psychic abilities that allows it to gain information from anyone that it sees. Autopsies conducted upon SCP-4297's victims have concluded that the usual cause of death is asphyxiation from the ribs being crushed into the lungs. Coroners have also noted that some of SCP-4297's victims were killed from exsanguination from the ribs being impaled into the lungs. If the deceased individual(s) are left within SCP-4297's containment cell for an extended period of time after death, SCP-4297 will proceed to feast upon them, using their blood to paint symbols onto the walls of the containment cell. Observably, these symbols represent a large snowflake surrounded by a large flame. In conjunction with this, SCP-4297 has also been known to write with its victim's blood, usually underneath the symbols that it creates, of which the language that it uses is unknown to any researchers tasked with identification and translation.
