Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4972 is to be held in a 8m X 10m X 20m magnetic containment cell with a 2cm thick glass ceiling that has direct access to natural sunlight. The floor of the containment cell is to be filled with 1m of soil having a Ph level of at least 9. No one without direct consent from a staff member with clearance level of 4 or above is to come in contact with SCP-4972, and should be discouraged from contact with any SCP-4972-2 instances. It must be noted that any persons who steps into SCP-4972's containment cell are to be treated as instances of SCP-4972 until issued with class-D Amnestic. if the Amnestic is not administered within 12hrs, SCP-4972-2 is to be terminated. Instances of SCP-4972-2 have not been capable of finishing coherent sentences without asking a question immediately after. Subjects exposed to SCP-4972 seem to lose all previous memories predating 48hours, but are capable or regaining lost memories such as birthday, parents names, social security number, blood pressure, place of birth, medical history, ect… class-A/B/C Amnestic will not reverse this effect.
Description: SCP-4972 appears to be a Coastal Redwood approximately 17m tall and having a radios of about (5)m at its base. 3m off the ground there is a solid gold plate foraged into SCP-4972. The origins of said plate are currently unknown. Touching the gold plate will result in violent twitching in all, living and deceased, SCP-4972-2 instances.
Addendum SCP-4972-a: Recovery Log
SCP-4972 was initially discovered by Dr.[REDACTED] while researching [DATA REDACTED]. in [REDACTED], Oregon. October [REDACTED], 2010. Immediately after exposure to SCP-4972, Dr.[REDACTED] entered a state of mental distress for approximately 40sec, then fell to the ground unconscious. Dr.[REDACTED] Was immediately evacuated to Site-[REDACTED]. SCP-4972 was transported to Site-19 via helicopter approximately [REDACTED]hrs later.
