Item #: SCP-4207

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4207 is to be kept in a locked Containment Chamber at Site ██. Testing access to SCP-4207 is permitted with written permission of no less than three (3) off-site B-class personnel. Access is restricted to D-class personnel only. The log of each subject’s experience within SCP-4207 is to be secured within the office of Dr. █████████ and the subject in question is to be delivered one (1) dose of Class A amnestics and false memories are to be implanted.

Description: SCP-4207 is a glass tube measuring three meters in length and 1.5 meters in width, with a rotating sliding door embedded in the side of SCP-4207. A switch lies next to the door, with two options: ‘ON’, or ‘OFF’. An electrical socket (that is not connected to anything specific on SCP-4207) is embedded on the side of the tube. A connected electrical cable with an uninterrupted power supply is necessary for SCP-4207 to function. SCP-4207 requires a minimum of 500 kilowatts to function. Following Incident SCP-4207-1, the cable has been secured to both SCP-4207 and the power-supplying outlet with an epoxy. Within the tube is a plain wooden chair, secured to the floor with iron bolts, constructed of oak with a leather strap attached to secure the subject to the chair. The floor of the tube is constructed of an aluminum grating. The top of the tube is a dome measuring two meters in diameter, made of a steel-aluminum alloy. Extending 0.5 meters down into the tube is an unknown structure resembling a Tesla Coil. Testing has yielded inconclusive results as to the construction material of the structure. Extending a varying distance further from the coil is a metal bowl on a boom. Both the boom and bowl are made of the same metal as the coil. The bowl lies adjacent to the coil until the strap on the chair is tightened around a subject, at which time the bowl extends down along the boom until the bowl lies snugly on the subject’s head. The bowl always matches the shape of the subject’s head.

All those who have seen SCP-4207 in person cannot refer to it as SCP-4207, but rather as ‘The Device’. Subjects who have been inside of SCP-4207 can only refer to it as [DATA EXPUNGED] and neither ‘The Device’ or SCP-4207. Additionally, all those who have entered SCP-4207 express an overwhelming desire to re-enter SCP-4207. Subjects also express an aversion to both leaving SCP-4207 and testing with any other SCP.

When a subject is secured in SCP-4207’s chair, and the switch is set to ‘ON’, the subject within begins to experience vivid visual, auditory, nervous, and memetic hallucinations. These hallucinations are never repeated for multiple subjects.

The subject, upon removal from SCP-4207, will express a variety of emotions, from elation to grief, relating to what they saw.

Incident SCP-4207-1: On 3-12-21██, Subject D-58██ entered SCP-4207 at 1000 hours. Three minutes after activation, the subject began thrashing violently while screaming about how he ‘never meant to hurt her’. The force of his thrashing threatened to break the strap on the chair and cause the cable to be disconnected, so a team of armed security personnel was dispatched to remove the subject, but the door would not open. Squad member G████ L████████ flipped the switch to ‘OFF’. Subject D-58██ suffered immediate cardiac arrest and expired 32 seconds later. G████ L████████ was terminated by Foundation personnel. Investigation into the subject's criminal history revealed that he killed his wife in an intoxicated stupor. Access further restricted to require three (3) off-site B-class personnel’s permission rather than one.
