Item #: SCP-####

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Food is to be provided daily via a hermetically sealed pipe connected to the outside of the pen. Feeding must only be conducted during times in which the specimen is asleep. Food is to consist of 10% w/w live house mice (Mus musculus), 50% assorted fresh fruits, 15% legumes, 15% raw potato and 10% ████ brand sandwich biscuits. The pipe is to be washed with organic solvents after the food is put through and properly sealed afterwards. Under no circumstance is any food to be brought within 10 meters of SCP-####'s pen outside of feeding times.

When tests are to be run, all equipment must be thoroughly cleaned in organic solvents before being brought into the pen, accompanied by staff wearing HazMat gear. Tests are to be scheduled accordingly to SCP-####'s sleep cycle, with the staff entering and exiting whilst the specimen is asleep. The hermetically sealed pen door is to remain closed during all tests. SCP-#### is to be sufficiently sedated after each testing period for the specimen to maintain its normal sleeping schedule. Testing is to occur exclusively inside the pen, per results of Tests B-1 and A-2.

Description: SCP-#### appears to be an adult male Virginia Opossum (Didelphis virginiana) of standard size. A melanocyte aberrancy faintly resembling a key is present on its nose. The specimen has remarkably advanced spatial and logical reasoning, roughly on par with those of a 10-year old human child.

The specimen was recovered from the distribution bay of an industrial bakery on 13-04-19██, after repeated failed attempts to capture it by local wildlife control. The Foundation was notified by the local authorities after they had obtained CCTV footage of the specimen disengaging a live animal trap from the interior. The specimen was likely drawn to the factory due to the presence of a large house mouse colony. The specimen appears to have developed its affinity for ████ brand sandwich biscuits during its stay at the factory.

The specimen is affectionate to humans and domestic animals and is easily distracted by them. Emergency containment procedures involving this behaviour are under further development.

Confinement Test A - 12-12-19██

Procedure: SCP-#### was placed inside a standard dog kennel before feeding time and was monitored via CCTV feed.
Results: SCP-#### immediately began tracking the scent of the food upon awakening, before reaching through the bars of the kennel door and manipulating the mechanism. Once free, the specimen moved over to the food and began eating.
Analysis: Subject requires further security in need of transport. Chains and padlock suggested.

Behaviour Test B - 14-12-19██

Procedure: D-class personnel entered the pen immediately prior to feeding time. The pen was monitored via CCTV feed.
Results: SCP-#### moved towards the present staff and began interacting with them, performing normal species affection displays. The food was entirely ignored without staff encouragement.
Analysis: The subject has no apparent apprehension regarding humans. Resistance to capture was likely due exclusively to anomalous ability.

Confinement Test A-1 - 17-12-19██

Procedure: SCP-#### was placed inside a standard dog kennel secured with chains and a padlock before feeding time and was monitored via CCTV feed.
Results: SCP-#### mirrored prior behaviours once it woke up in the kennel. Upon discovery of the chains, the specimen pulled on them to bring the padlock within reach, using its fingers and a small piece of wire mesh from the kennel to pick the lock within seconds. Once free, the specimen moved over to the food and began eating."
Analysis: Subject requires further security in need of transport.

Behaviour Test B-1 - 20-12-19██

Procedure: SCP-#### was fed normally. D-class personnel were instructed to remain near the hatch during feeding time. Staff were instructed to converse loudly, once the specimen began eating. Pen interior and exterior were monitored via CCTV feed.
Results: SCP-#### moved towards the food and began eating. Upon hearing the conversation outside, the specimen stopped eating and moved towards the feeding hatch. The specimen managed to disassemble the locking mechanism from within. Once unobstructed, the specimen began interacting with the present staff.
Analysis: Specimen appears to greatly value human company. Future testing is to be conducted exclusively within the pen, pending results of upcoming confinement test.

Confinement Test A-2 - 23-12-19██

Procedure: SCP-#### was placed inside a welded steel box with a 2cm x 2cm hole for light and air. Feeding was scheduled normally. Test was monitored via CCTV feed from both inside and outside the box.
Results: SCP-#### appeared distressed upon awakening, before discovering the hole. The specimen then proceeded to push and contort itself through the hole, escaping the box within 55.73 seconds. The specimen then moved over to the food and began eating.
Analysis: Subject requires monumental security in need of transport. Given prior results of Test B-1, all testing and interaction is to be conducted within the pen. Scheduled Anatomy Test C is to be postponed until a means of transporting required equipment is devised.

Confinement Test A-3 - 05-01-19██

Procedure: SCP-#### was placed and locked inside SCP-004-14 with SCP-004-7 being placed on the lid before feeding. Test was monitored via CCTV feed.
Results: The test lasted for 59 minutes, with nothing occurring until the last 30 seconds, wherein SCP-#### reached out of SCP-004-14, before unlocking it and proceeding to the food.
Analysis: Subject suspected to be able to escape any conceivable container if motivated to do so. Containment is to continue rely on sedation and normative scheduling.
