Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: The current instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is to be contained within a 3 by 3 by 2.5 metre padded cell, and is to be kept within a standard issue straight-jacket. SCP-XXXX-1 is to be given a monthly psychological examination and a monthly medical examination, until such time that SCP-XXXX-1 is able to be reasoned with.

Addendum: Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are to be monitored by MTF-Phi-6 ("Good Citizens") and observed for any changes in behaviour. If SCP-XXXX-2 instances begin to co-ordinate as a group, they are to be broken up by either social manipulation or through applications of Class-A, or Class-B amnestics. SCP-XXXX-2 instances are then to be released back into society.

If SCP-XXXX-1 is terminated, MTF-Phi-6 is to locate and contain all instances of SCP-XXXX-2 until one of them exhibits the properties of SCP-XXXX, whereupon they will be designated the new SCP-XXXX-1, which should be contained and transferred to the nearest humanoid containment facility.

Upon the creation of a new SCP-XXXX-1 instance, new SCP-XXXX-2 instances should be established by a thorough background check of SCP-XXXX-1 and the monitoring of all individuals who are closely socially connected to SCP-XXXX-1, such as family, friends, co-workers, and personnel of institutions that SCP-XXXX-1 was a patron of. SCP-XXXX-2 instances who no longer exhibit anomalous properties are to be given amnestics and released back into their communities.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the designation given to the psychological condition where an individual gains the irrational belief that they are the protagonist of a fictional work. SCP-XXXX is different to typical delusional behaviour, and is anomalous in that it does not only influence one individual, but also all individuals close to them. SCP-XXXX-1 designation is given to the individual under the primary influence of SCP-XXXX, and SCP-XXXX-2 is given to those under the secondary influence of it.

SCP-XXXX-1 is currently a Caucasian male of 32 years. SCP-XXXX-1 is currently in a state of severe mental trauma from the influence of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 currently believes that they are a protagonist of a fictional work where they are trapped within a website where non-standard short stories are collated and created, and that the Foundation are agents of said website. No such website has been found to currently exist, and interviews with SCP-XXXX-1 have revealed large gaps in his knowledge of the entity.

Attempts to treat SCP-XXXX-1 instances with amnestics have failed.

Addendum: SCP-XXXX-2 are a set of between approximately 5 and 20 individuals, that are closely affiliated with SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-2 instances develop an intense fixation of SCP-XXXX-1 over a period of between 3 and 9 months, depending on how socially close the SCP-XXXX-1 is to them. Upon developing the fixation, SCP-XXXX-2 entities begin to focus as many aspects as possible of their life on SCP-XXXX-1. This includes eating similar meals, purchasing similar products, and gaining similar habits. Additionally, interviews with SCP-XXXX-2 instances have shown that they identify more as characters in SCP-XXXX-1's story and less as their own individuals.

SCP-XXXX-2 instances have an innate, subconscious, knowledge of where SCP-XXXX-1 instances are, and they have a feeling that they need to help SCP-XXXX-1 if they are not in the presence of an instance of SCP-XXXX-2. This can culminate in a group of SCP-XXXX-2 instances forming and arming themselves and attempting to cause a containment breach on SCP-XXXX-1. This has been attempted once in the past.

When SCP-XXXX-1 is terminated, one instance of SCP-XXXX-2 will undergo an instant development of the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX-1. This individual is to be designated the new SCP-XXXX-1 and contained. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will be 'reset' and a new group will be selected from the eligible population. This typically includes many individuals who were former SCP-XXXX-2 instances, but some will no longer retain their anomalous effects.

Attempts to treat SCP-XXXX-2 instances with amnestics has succeeded in removing the fixation on SCP-XXXX-1 for small amounts of time, however within one week the fixation will have returned.

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-2

Interviewer: Researcher ███████

Foreword: SCP-XXXX-2 is a 28 year old female, who was SCP-XXXX-1's spouse before containment. After SCP-XXXX-1 was contained, she became intensely fixated on SCP-XXXX-1, eventually participating in the attempted attack on the site containing SCP-XXXX-1. She and other SCP-XXXX-2 instances were captured and held for interview, before being given amnestics and re-released to their communities.

Researcher ███████: Please state your name, age, and relationship with SCP-XXXX-1 for the record.

SCP-XXXX-2: That's what you call Dave, isn't it?

Researcher ███████: Yes.
SCP-XXXX-2: I'm Cathy Mason, 28, and I was Dave's girlfriend before this whole…ordeal.
Researcher ███████: How did you know to come here?
SCP-XXXX-2: I…don't know. I just kinda thought it'd be this way. I knew that he was fine, so…we just kinda drove over here.
Researcher ███████: Who do you mean by 'we'?
SCP-XXXX-2: Dave's friends, family. People who knew he was the star, and we needed him so we could get the story right.
Researcher ███████: What do you mean by 'get the story right'?
SCP-XXXX-2: Like…make everything right? If you've got a movie, you need a main character, right? Well, we needed one.
Researcher ███████: Understood. Do you know anything about the Foundation?
SCP-XXXX-2: Urm…that's what it says on all the walls around here. And that's about it.
Researcher ███████: Understood. I have no further questions.
