SCP-XXXX
Subject: Euclid
Containment Date: ██/██/████
Special Containment Procedures: Object SCP-XXXX must be kept inside a class 3 anomalous object container inside a 70 x 150 x 20 meter room, with 20 meter thick soundproof walls, and be guarded by motion activated turrets loaded with 7.62 x 51mm ammunition. Audio during interviews with SCP-XXXX-1 must be transcribed by D-class personnel, as any musical instrument or singing produced by SCP-XXXX-1 will attract any humanoid who has heard its music. All personnel and subjects must not make any reference to any biblical texts or verses while SCP-XXXX-1 is manifested following Incident 7-A.
Description: 7 large, similarly colored dark horns are wrapped together by a faded leather strip near the tip of each horn, with their length varying from .41 meters to .21. The horns seem to match that of an unidentified mountain ram, and each horn is similar to the shape of a shofar. Should anyone come into contact with SCP-XXXX, and be tempted to play a note, SCP-XXXX-1 will appear, and will instruct them to collect 5 volunteers to dance.
SCP-XXXX-1 is described as a shadowy wisp in the shape of a large 2.1 meter humanoid with 4 curved horns on its head. All personnel who come into contact with SCP-XXXX-1 have no memory of its face, but say that they remember 2 bright white eyes in the wisp.
Addendum #1: SCP-XXXX was procured in █████, Texas, at ██:██ after first response police officers answered a disturbance call at XXXXX Wood Mill House. One of the mill house workers who was leaving his shift, placed a call and told officers that music was playing loudly after the mill house had closed for the night. The first response officers approached the area, and found 6 civilians dead, with 4 posed together to appear as if they were dancing. Blood was found to have heavily flooded out of their facial orifices, and their skin was seemingly burned as determined by procurement analysis. The two other bodies were shredded by large lacerations, with their skin having been burned post-mortem.
The Ethics Committee was contacted, and class 2 amnestics were approved to be applied to all directly involved, along with an animal corpse being produced with each of the victims DNA on it for the media to portray the incident as an animal attack. SCP-XXXX was found in the center of the 6 civilians, untouched and on a pedestal in the underground area of the mill house. Safety measures were placed, and SCP-XXXX was sealed in a class 3 anomaly container via remote manipulator claw to prevent temptation to play it after various members of the retrieval team reported a strong temptation to take it.
Addendum #2: All further tests will be recorded under 7-C
Name: Dr. Springs, with assistance by Dr. Antonio
Date: ██/██/20██
Experiment 7-C
Procedure: A D-Class member must be placed inside SCP-XXXX’s container, and be instructed to play the first pipe. All audio recordings henceforth must be cutoff, but a note tuner will be left on in the room for further analysis. Test subjects will be given a laptop to communicate with Dr. Springs and Dr. Antonio, and to transcribe their conversation with SCP-XXXX-1.
Results: D-27796 (Male, 28, no mental or physical abnormalities. Grand theft auto, 10 counts of assault) is placed into the test chamber, and is told via one way radio to open the laptop set at the table, and then open SCP-XXXX from its case. After the test subject opens the case, he immediately messages the doctors.
[All further logs require level-3 authorization, contact your administrator for further details.]
D-27797: “i can hear a low moan coming from the pipes, what the hell is this thing”
Dr. Antonio: “Is it a human or a musical instrument sound?”
“its like a like a deep mans voice or some kind of animal maybe”
Dr. Antonio consulted with Dr. Springs at this point on how to proceed.
Doctor Antonio then messages the test subject: “It should stop once you pick it up.”
Test subject then pulls the pipes out from the case and confirms that the moan has stopped. Test subject is then asked to play the lowest notes on the pipes towards the tuner. Test subject enthusiastically complies, and the tuner notes that it is an E note.
Visual recordings distort around the image of the pipes, and color and light seemingly bend around it. Black smoke appears to come out from the breath of the test subject, and SCP-XXXX-1 begins to manifest.
D-27796 drops the pipes on the table and backs away, screaming in fear and backing into the corner.
SCP-XXXX-1 takes its final shape and is sitting on the table next to the pipes, raising its head in the air as if it was screaming as well. Test subject later confirms with the research team that it was actually operatically bellowing, trying to pitch the test subjects scream to a note. After 1 minute and 8 seconds passed, D-27796 stands up once more as SCP-XXXX-1 stands off the table and begins walking around, examining the room.
Test subject then runs back to the table, and takes the laptop where he begins frantically typing in the corner.
“doc this shit looks like the devil! wtf is going on with this shit??”
Test subject then looks up to SCP-XXXX-1 and appears to be conversing with it. Shortly after their conversation stops, the test subject begins typing to Dr. Antonio again.
“Doc, I need help, if i dont get 5 ppl in here, its going to kill me.”
Audio logs from outside the test chamber:
Dr. Antonio: “Dr. Springs, what should we do? Last time we said no, XXXX-1 killed the test subject.”
Dr. Springs: “We do have the double seal and a secured way of communication so it's none of our concern now.”
[Dr. Springs pauses and watches the video surveillance for a moment, examining XXXX-1 as it begins spinning around in the room and dancing. Post-testing interviews note all staff members state that the dance felt somber unanimously.]
“I’ll get on the line with administration and see, but this time, we equip all subjects with collars.”
Dr. Springs directs test subject to ask a set of questions, but by the time the messaged was received, SCP-XXXX-1 had disappeared and the test subject had fallen unconscious.
Dr. Springs 7-C post-experiment comment: "Shock collars will be equipped on D-27796 to remind him to fully transcribe his conversation, and shock collars will be equipped on test subjects in all further testing to combat any of it effects.. I'd rather not see what happens when someone else plays it after the first hasn't begun the process— yet. Dr. Antonio has been reprimanded for not reminding the test subject of termination should they fail to comply in the last session.. Although, perhaps it was for the best to psyche of only the test subject and his memory during this process. I don’t particularly like deals with the devil myself, so we will see what its capabilities fully are.."
Note: D-Class subject 27796 in-between sessions became erratic and consistently asked about when he could play the flute again, becoming violent after sometime. Psychiatric evaluation tests showed he had developed mild paranoia and aggression when he was not near the pipes.
Experiment 7-D
Name: Dr. Springs, with assistance by Dr. Antonio
Date:██/██/20██
After approval from the administrative board, 5 more D-class personnel were placed in the room. All subjects were fitted with shock collars for temporary paralysis. Test subject D-27796's transcription of his conversation with SCP-XXXX-1 will be edited for clarity.
Post-Experiment note: Subject 2 was a female, 27. Subject 3 was a male, 29. Subject 4 was a female, 30. Subject 5 was a female, 32, and subject 6 was a male, 30. Adjustments will be made for further tests 8-A following the incident.
Results: Subjects 1 through 6 are placed inside the testing chamber, and D-27796 is asked to play SCP-XXXX and transcribe the test subject's conversation with SCP-XXXX-1.
D-27796: “so you want me to type everything it says right?”
Doctor Antonio replies: “Yes, we need to know what it is asking for just to be sure.”
Further video logs have been accompanied by edited captions for a more accurate and in-depth conversation between D-27796 and SCP-XXXX-1.
Test subject blows into the lowest pipe of SCP-XXXX with joy, and XXXX-1 appears once more, but this time from behind the other test subjects.
XXXX-1: “Hello again Daniel, so I see you have found your lovely dancers?”
D-27796: “Yes, I’ve got 5 people right here that have volunteered.”
XXXX-1: “Hmm.. are you sure they volunteered willingly?”
D-27796: “Yes, they have all been told what they are dancing.”
[Note: None of the test subjects have been choreographed beforehand, but have been told the nature of SCP-XXXX. It should be noted that all test subjects 2-6 have been temporarily paralyzed as to not upset XXXX-1.]
XXXX-1: “Well then, I shall test your friends here and see if everything is set.”
XXXX-1 then begins to dance around each of the D-class personnel and seems to blow a quick puff black smoke on each, starting left to right from subject 2.
D-27796 notes that he can hear XXXX-1 sniffing each of the test subjects, and hears a soft hum from each subject after passing them, until it approaches subject 6. XXXX-1 suddenly grabs subject 6 by the neck and raises him in the air. D-27796 messaged to the staff that XXXX-1 said subject 6 was wrong, even though video recording shows subject 6 said nothing to XXXX-1.
Shortly after raising subject 6 in the air, all other subjects are released from paralysis, and each begins to run to the corners of the room in terror. Subject 6 is quickly shredded with fourth-degree lacerations between 1 to 1.5 decimeters wide, with varying lengths across his body. Test subject also appears to be stabbed with holes .76 decimeters large after being enveloped inside XXXX-1’s black mist. Subject 6 was then dropped to the floor, and left charred after their death, with a total time of 12 seconds for the process to finish.
D-27796: “Oh jesus christ it's screaming!”
SCP-XXXX-1 then turned to the other subjects, and exhibited unprecedented speed as it flashed around the room, repeating the process much more quickly than subject 6 until it approached D-27796.
D-27796 at this point dropped his laptop and tried to escape through the door. Post-experiment, a linguist expert was called and watched the footage, allowing researchers to predict what D-27796 was saying to XXXX-1.
D-27796: “What happened, I did as you asked!”
[Note: all of XXXX-1’s responses are predicted based on 27796's reply.]
XXXX-1: “He was too old. All players must be different ages.”
D-27796: “He was too old? Why does that matter?”
XXXX-1: “Those were the rules. You didn’t listen to them.”
D-27796: “Yeah.. well fuck your rules!”
XXXX-1 then grabbed D-27796 by the neck and repeated the process as with the other subjects, but it was finished after 21.5 seconds. After the process was completed, XXXX-1 dropped D-27796, and then faded into the air. Video recordings were burned after the last frame with an image of its white eyes in its mist.
Dr. Antonio’s 7-D post-experiment comment: “So from what the linguists can discern, all subjects' backgrounds must be completed with a full age report included. Experiment 8-A will require full access to as much information as required. This thing is really picky, but if it really is the devil, it kinda makes sense. For this next experiment, we must obtain information about all the rules as well. Results from the tuner also show that XXXX-1 sings as it talks, but its distortion on our technology is outrageous, and we haven’t been able to make a full composition of its music yet. I still worry that anything in earshot of this thing will also be drawn to XXXX, so I’d rather not risk anything yet.. It does also seem to have a good understanding of music theory from what we can see. That music sheet should be sent to an authorized composer for further testing and understanding. It’d be really funny if this thing just created another musical hit— but we’ll have to see.
Experiment 8-A
Name: Dr. Springs, with assistance by Dr. Antonio
Date:██/██/20██
Procedure: D-Class test subject 30520 (Male, 26, No mental or physical abnormalities. Theft, 15 counts of breaking and entering and 15 counts of robbery) will be told all required information necessary beforehand, specifically tasked with an explanation of all the rules SCP-XXXX-1 gives. Once again, a tuner will be left inside the testing chamber to *attempt* to record the music.
Results: Test subject D-30520 was told via one way radio to open the case with SCP-XXXX. This time, there was no moaning reported however, after confirming with the test subject.
Dr. Antonio: “So there is nothing coming from it at all?”
D-30520: “No, there isn’t anything coming from it sir. Should there be?”
Dr. Antonio: "And you said you feel no desire to play it?"
After Dr. Springs instructs Dr. Antonio to proceed forward, the test subject is then asked to pick up the pipes and play the lowest note. However, SCP-XXXX-1 did not appear, but the pipes began to start playing on its own, even after the test subject drops it. The music from then started changing from a pipe to that of a deep trumpet, until dropping further to that of a tuba as reported by 30520.
D-30520: “What the hell is wrong with this thing?! It's a trumpet, and a tube and more! It’s like a whole orchestra in one—”
Test subject then starts to panic as he realizes he cannot speak. Soon after, he falls out of his chair, the music stops. XXXX is placed back into its case, via remote manipulator claw, and security is set to retrieve the test subject. 2 guards with sound proof helmets are sent in as the test subject crawled into the corner, shaking in fear on the floor and is unresponsive.
Post experiment evaluation of D-30520: Subject is fully deaf and mute, but still has full cognitive awareness and suffers from mild paranoia and P.T.S.D.
Dr. Spring’s 8-A post-experiment comment: “I've come to the hypothetical conclusion that SCP-XXXX-1 will interact with subjects who have committed sinful crimes, and further testing will be required to test this theory. A deeper look into D-30520’s criminal record shows that no one was harmed in any of his robberies, and had been living peacefully outside of his work.. Recommend further test subjects to include murder, rackateering, or any other violent crimes or biblical sinful acts in their criminal history.. This thing truly may be or is the devil. It wants only ‘sinners’ essentially.. This was the first case that we’ve deviated from using someone with a violent criminal history, so it's our best— and only guess for now..
Experiment 9-A
Name: Dr. Springs, with assistance by Dr. Antonio
Date:XX/XX/20XX
Procedure: D-Class test subject 24720 (Female, 32, No mental or physical abnormalities. Assault & Battery with a deadly weapon, and capitol murder) will be told all required information necessary beforehand, and is specifically tasked with obtaining an explanation of all rules SCP-XXXX-1 gives, Once again, a tuner will be left inside the testing chamber to record the music, and a separate recorder is given to the test subject. Test subject has an understanding of music theory, mastering and editing.
Dr. Springs comment Pre-Experiment: “I have handpicked this subject personally, for her ability to write and create music. It is my hope that she can recreate the music by SCP-XXXX and the ‘devil..’ My hope is to see if the music XXXX creates is the same caught by our tuner, than that of the one on 24720.."
Results: Test subject D-24720 was once told via one way radio to open the case with SCP-XXXX. As with previous experiments, there was moaning reported this time, after confirming with the test subject. 24720 is instructed to play the lowest note on SCP-XXXX.
Once again, SCP-XXXX-1 manifests, but sitting in the chair across the table from the test subject. The recording device is then turned on by 24720, and she begins speaking with XXXX-1.

[Opening log…]
D-24720: “Hello, I take it you’re the thing that’s been wanting a dance partner huh?”
XXXX-1 finally manifests fully into the chair across from test subject, and folds its hand under its chin and leans in.
XXXX-1: “Caroline. It's good to see you. How have you been? I still have the soul of that bastard husband of yours, and he is enjoying his time here.”
[Video recording shows D-24720 exhibiting shock, but quickly returns to the conversation, trying to move past it’s statement. Criminal records show that she had murdered her husband after a domestic dispute. D-24720 later recalls that the music stopped while SCP-XXXX-1 was laughing at its initial statement.]
D-24720: “I’m glad to hear I guess. He deserved it anyways.”
XXXX-1: “I can’t say I agree. It is not my place to say as much. But, let us move to the point. You’ve blown my pipe, and now you must entertain me..”
D-24720 is then instructed to ask for a full list of its rules, word for word.
D-24720: “So, what are the rules for your game then? And please, would you write it down for me?”
SCP-XXXX-1 then produced SCP-XXXX-1-A to the test subject. SCP-XXXX-1-A is a long raw hide scroll with a list of rules written in blood-like colored ink. DNA samples later show no positive ID match.
The rules on the scroll follow as such:
Rule 1: Five other participants must be gathered, and participate willingly.
Rule 2: If five participants are not gathered within two days, your soul is forfeit.
Rule 3: Each player must play all seven pipes before and after dancing.
Rule 4: All participants must dance for nine minutes. If any participant stops dancing, all souls are forfeit.
Rule 5: No participant may be the same age as any other participant, disregarding day and month born.
Rule 6: Each participant must also craft a trinket important to them out of Joshua tree wood or their soul is forfeit afterwards.
Rule 7: If all rules are not followed within 2 days, all souls involved will be forfeit.
Closer examination shows a microscopic text with Rule 8 hidden at the bottom.
Rule 8: If it is not pleasing or adequate enough for the audience, all souls involved will be forfeit.
The test subject then took SCP-XXXX-1-A and secured it under the laptop Dr. Springs then messaged D-24720, instructing her to ask XXXX-1 a set of questions.
D-24720: “So, I have a coupla more questions to ask you from the eggheads up there, if you don’t mind.”
XXXX-1 then rested back into its seat, and nodded and continues while humming a tune.
D-24720: “So, what is your name? Do you have a name even?”
XXXX-1: “ Well, many would know my name, but it shall never be spoken truly by any mortal.”
D-24720: “So we’ve known your name, but no one has spoken it? Are we saying it wrong perhaps?”
XXXX-1: “Hmm.. essentially, yes. Next question.”
D-24720: “How long have you been inside the pipes? How old is it and yourself?”
XXXX-1 then stands up from its seat, and waives its hand over the pipes, but does not touch it.
XXXX-1: “I do not inhabit these pipes. I only answer its call, and only when its user is able to understand my voice that is without words. To answer your second question.. we are timeless.”
D-24720: “So, what if someone plays the pipes that ‘speaks your language,’ and you don’t answer the call— what happens?”
XXXX-1 immediately shows signs of hostility and grabs D-24720 by the shirt and pulls her into the air, D-24720 later notes that its voice grew darker, and it had shaken her with such a power that
paralyzed her.
XXXX-1: “Then it is the end of days, and the horns will return to be rang down from where the sun does not touch, and be played by my own hands! I shall answer no more and rise from the shadows given to me by my maker!”
XXXX-1 drops D-24720 back into her seat and walks towards the wall.
XXXX-1: “And then I will challenge the angel. Now, no more questions.” SCP-XXXX-1 then phases through the wall and a containment breach was called, but XXXX-1 is not found after it has exited the testing chamber. Video surveillance outside the testing chamber shows that XXXX-1 did not actually leave the containment area, but simply vanished.
Dr.Springs note post experiment note:
"Subject D-24720 handled herself surprisingly well during the interview. Perhaps she views XXXX-1 as something not nearly intimidating as previous test subjects have.. An investigation into her religious background shall be commenced. What also perturbs me was when XXXX-1 referenced an angel. I wonder if there is another component to XXXX-1 missing, or it is another separate entity. If it is what I believe XXXX-1 is referring to.. well.. I shall keep an eye on XXXX-1 and make further analysis. With the work from D-24720, we can perhaps hear what her rendition of the music from this experiment sounds like.. I still believe there to be a grave risk for any scientist to listen to it, so we shall need to procure another subject to listen to her work. Refer to test 9-A-1 after the two day period for final analysis.."
